TESS VALMORE

LEE/GRANDE AJ Lee was successful in her first FCBA bout. She got off to a good start winning the first two rounds. Grande, came back to even things up at the end of four, Grande started off the fifth in fine fashion, but a right hand caught more than her attention enabling Lee to go on a punching spree that ended with Grande face down on the canvas as the count reached ten

ROBERTSON/PARRISH A close fight all the way as long as it lasted. The bout was even at two and even at four. Robertson was in trouble in the fifth due to a cut over her right eye. Despite the cut, Robertson managed to even the fight at the end of six. In the seventh Parrish missed with a big right hand but Robertson didn’t. Robertson chalks up her first win by a KO

SONG/D. CAMPBELL Song was the more experienced, however it didn’t look like it early in the fight. Campbell decked Song in the third and had a substantial lead at the end of six. Song finally got on track in the seventh and Campbell showed signs of wilting late in the round. Campbell did have some good moments in the eighth, but the good moments ended with an uppercut to the nose that ended Campbell’s evening

MEESTER/McCORD Another interesting bout. McCord took rounds one and three while Meester took two and four. McCord took the lead back in the fifth and also got the sixth as she hurt Meester in both rounds. Meester shelled McCord in the seventh and continued in the eighth as she dropped McCord at the beginning of the round. McCord made it to her feet only to eat a left hook that ended the fight with Meester getting the KO

BILSON/KENDRICK Kendrick getting some good press recently and she justified the praise in this bout. The fight was even at the end of four. Bilson shocked Kendrick in the fifth with a knockdown but didn’t close the bout out. Kendrick came back with a vengeance working on Bilson’s body and leaving her gut shot at the end of the round six. Kendrick finished Bilson in the seventh with an uppercut to the chin

MARKLE/MONTGOMERY Markle hasn’t exactly set the FCBA on fire winning only one out of seven. Her opponent, however, hasn’t been active in years. For the first three rounds, Montgomery looked like she hadn’t lost a step over those years as she took the first three. Markle finally got on track in the fourth as she worked on Montgomery’s body. By the end of the fifth, Montgomery was obviously tired. She didn’t have long to go as Markle laid her out on her face with a right to the solar plexus

PIPES/PERABO Pipes was in her second fight of her career against an older veteran. Pipes didn’t win her first fight and she didn’t win this one either. She did make a fight of it, fighting Perabo even through four. In the fifth, Pipes walked into a huge Perabo hook and the fight was over with Pipes being counted out

DAWSON/MITCHELL The 36 year old Dawson entered the fight with only eight fights in ten years. Mitchell has been very active and was eight years younger. Mitchell should win right? That’s not the way it worked out. The fight was even at the end of four. Dawson did damage working on Mitchell’s body in the fifth. Dawson continued the body attack in the sixth. A double hook to the stomach sent Mitchell down for the count. This has not been a good night for PLP

WILDE/HENNIG I gave Hennig a zero chance of winning this bout. For the first three rounds it looked like I was going to be on the wrong side of the prediction. Wilde got a lecture from Pointy between rounds. It was the beginning of the end for Hennig. Wilde had Henning almost helpless in the fifth and decked her twice in the sixth. Hennig got up from the first knockdown but not the second. Wilde by a KO

McADAMS/FREGE This was another fight in which I thought the winner was obvious. Frege doesn’t win much, however, she does hang around for five or six rounds. Such was it here. The fight was even at the end of four. McAdams took the fifth round wide and ended the night with a left hook to the head that left Frege still on the floor at the end of the ten count.

HOLLAND/GREENE As so ofter happens this bout was even at the end of four. Holland won the fifth but Greene evened the fight in the fifth. In the sixth Greene landed a series or rights and lefts that put Holland down. Holland got to her feet only to be beaten senseless and the referee stopped the fight.

ALBA/SPEARS Once again a bout is even at the end of four. It’s a little deceptive because Spears shelled Alba in the two rounds she won. Spears followed up a good fourth, pressed Alba finally catching her with a left hook and right uppercut that left Alba out on the canvas

SPIRIDAKOS/PIETERSE Once again this fight was even at the end of four. At the end of four, Spiridakos got a lecture from Pointy. It worked for Wilde. Different result here. Spiridakos did win the fifth but was decked in the sixth. In the seventh, a whipping right caught Spiridakos who wen down for the count

DANES/ROBBIE The D-Train rolled again. Due to the third round which was a draw, the bout was even at the half way point. In the sixth, Danes went on a tear that left Robbie barely able to finish the round. Robbie didn’t finish the seventh as once again Danes went on a tear, finally ending the fight with a fight hook

WAGNER/RAFAELI The contest was tied going into the fifth. In that round, Rafaeli had a field day landing lefts and rights that left Wagner shabby as the round ended. Rafaeli continued the assault in the sixth until a right cross sent Wagner to the canvas for the count

WARREN/PATTON The 36 year old Warren had lost seven of her last eight and had only two fights in the last five years. Patton took third place in the recent welter tournament. This was another bout in which the winner was pretty well known before the fight. Warren did have a good first two rounds. After that it was all down hill and down hill fast. Warren barely survived round three and didn’t survive a left hook in the fourth that sent home a knockout loser

HOWARD/C.BELL JMDD The only reason I bother to mention it, is somebody told me that was Bells last fight for the Academy. If that is true, it/s about time

RYAN/D.MOORE This was just too much. Two fighters with a combined age of 100. On top of that the 53 year old Moore hadn’t fought in six years. Well, what did you expect. If you expected a KO early in the fight you got it with Ryan naturally the winner. I doubt we will see Moore again and hope Ryan disappears also

RIGHETTI/HENSTRIDGE Once again we drag out an aged welter (41) who hasn’t fought in five years to face arguably the top welter. If this the way the welters are going to be rejuvenated?
The outcome was readily predictable. Oh yeah, I know there are “rare” upsets but it just wasn’t going to happen. It was just a question of how long Righetti was going to take to end it. Admittedly Hensdrige did better than expected but the result was expected. It took Amanda less than seven to go home the winner

LAWLEY/FREEMAN What does it mean if you are a 6’2* welter. It means your body covers a lot more canvas as you are counted out. Everyone knew that Lawley’s height and reach was going to give Freeman trouble. Most thought that despite Hawley reach, Freeman would win. Both were correct. Lawley gave Freeman all she wanted and was ahead on the cards going into the ninth. It all came to naught as Freeman hit Lawley with a powerful punch to the ear and Lawley demonstrated just much territory her body could cover

LOHAN/FISHEL. JMD besides I can’t stand Lohan. I went up to the Wiz’s box for a PBR

LOWNDES/KUNIS I can think the result this match qualifies as an upset. Lowndes was looking good through five as she decked Kunis in the fourth and had her on the verge of a collapse at the end of the fifth. Lowndes got a little careless in the sixth and caught a couple right hands that sent her to the canvas. Kunis continued in the seventh, leaving the champ breathless at the end of the round. Lowndes would go down for a nine count in the eighth. Getting to her feet, she was an easy target for Kunis and the referee finally stopped the fight. The girl who sits at the end on the Consortium bench is the new champ

HENDRICKS/LANCASTER A good fight that was as usual even at the end of four. Hendricks forged back into the lead by winning round five. From there is was all Lancaster, who almost floored Hendricks with a right to the navel at the end of the round, In the seventh, seventh it was a series of alternating punches to the chin and body that set up a final punch to the solar plexus that ended the fight. Lancaster retains her title
