Britt Robertson versus Janel Parrish
Results: Lookout    Writing: Archer

Janel: 26 YO, 5’2 (1.57 m), 1-2-0 since 2014, Pretty Little Punchers Inc.
Britt: 25 YO, 5’3 (1.60 m),  0-2-0 since 2013, Unmanaged.

Before:  “It’s true I haven’t had an FCBA/SSB fight since 2013.,” Britt Robertson of The CW show ‘The Secret Circle’ , the CBS show ‘Under the Dome’ and, most recently the feature films ‘The Longest Ride’ and “Tomorrowland’ acknowledges to Archer News reporter Skip Tracey, “But I have been very active in other boxing venues. I’ve had a half dozen fights with Edward Fillmore’s ‘Independent Female Celebrity Boxing’ outfit—my last one was in July, I beat ‘Teen Wolf’s’ Holland Roden UD10 and that made me 4-2.  That was a tough fight but I edged Holland out and I think that got the mention of the PLP matchmakers. I been into cruise ship boxing, resort boxing on the beach, casino boxing, and even had some private VIP dinner party fights. All sorts of places, but it is so good to be the ‘Big Show’ again. Okay, I lost to Lucy Hale and Rachel Bilson back in 2013, but I am lot more experienced than I was back then. I feel this is my Big Chance and I don’t intend to blow it. When you are unmanaged like I am, you need every win you can get in hopes the right people will see you and sign you up for their organization.”

“It may be her latest ‘Big Chance’,” Janel Parrish told Skip, “but she is dealing with ME! She may think all she needs is to do is get signed to a stable, but that just means your struggle moves to a new level. I’ve only got a one-year contract with the PLP and I can’t afford to lose any more fights. Funny she should mention Holland Roden, had 2 IFCB fights with her and that little redhead gave me a lot of trouble, but I managed to beat her once and draw her the other time. I am surprised she hasn’t turned up around here yet.  The fact that Britt beat her doesn’t just another blonde bimbo looking for some attention. She’s not going to succeed over my career. I am going to succeed over hers!”

Skip knew how hard it was for young fighters to emerge from the crowded world of starlet boxing. It was a truth that every TV season new starlets would appear or some previously ignored young actress who pop up in a popular film. These careers could fade just as fast, but enough of them took root and blossomed  to make newcomers hope they would be one of the exceptions. So here were two more such newcomers. Their records not very impressive but each was full of hope and ambition for the future. That could make for an intense fight even if a good many fans weren’t quite sure who they were.

Came fight night, Janel was in a white bikini that stood out well against her olive skin and dark hair. She was her hair in a tightly wound battle braid, she wore white gloves and matching boots. Britt chose a classic black bikini with black gloves and boots, her hair pulled back in simple ponytail and secured with a plain black band.

Young fighters look tense during ring instructions, fidgeting in place and trying to maintain  (none too successfully) the poker face of a veteran warrior. At last the two are sent to their corners and wait tensely. They both flash expressions of relief as the bell rings and they can now begin to fight for their future boxing careers.

R1: Britt showed some caution in this opening round as she let Janel seize the initiative in the early going. Janel showed considerable energy as she circled around the blonde and peppered her with punches, Britt tried to duck and evade the incoming, but she got her head knocked around pretty steadily for the first two minutes. Then Britt suddenly shifted gears and went on the offensive as Janel was coming in yet again. A straight right from the blonde slid over the brunette gloves and caught Janel hard on the mouth. Janel fell back in surprise, but she did a quick step to the left and flicked out her own right catching Britt in the left eye. Now it was blonde’s turn to call back in surprise. Britt kept her guard up to the bell as Janel took the first stanza by a comfortable margin.

R2: Britt wasted no time in bringing her offensive punching to Janel Parrish. The blonde scooted across the ring and engaged the brunette before Janel could get herself organized. Britt was mainly going to the stomach with her punches, but she showed some interest in hammering Janel’s ribs from the sides and generally keeping her on the defensive. Janel continued to protect her head, but she was not jabbing very effectively and Britt was landing a steady number of lashing body punches. Finally, Janel choose to retreat, and at last get her jab going, but it was too little, too late as the bell rang to end the round. This round went to Britt Robertson by a wide margin.

R3:  Janel was clearly determined not to let Britt grab the initiative as this round began. She was away from her corner and into her fighting stance very quickly. This obliged Britt to bob and weave looking for openings as they circled each other. Janel then disrupted Britt’s probing with some quick lunges of her own. Britt took a series of solid hits to the breasts and jaw in these lightning strikes. The blonde did not back off, but battled it out directly with the brunette. Britt was showing better footwork and landing punches solidly to Janel’s body. Janel fought back going after Britt’s creamy midsection and leaving it splotched with red, but Britt clipped the brunette on the chin late to put a shiver in Janel’s legs and cause her to retreat. It was enough to give a close round to Britt Robertson.

R4: Janel right back into the battle for initiative in this bout. She catches Britt with a couple of quick hooks to the tummy to freeze the blonde just long enough to snap a right cross/left hook combo to Britt’s chin. Britt reeling back with her jab looking confused and Janel grimly battering blonde cheekbones until Britt breaks for midring. Janel follows but Britt now has her jab going and Janel is frustrated each try she tries to penetrate. Janel obliged to operate from long distance and it’s not very effective, though it does keep Britt from taking the offensive until late when she does a sudden shift of gears, smiting Janel’s olive skinned belly and sliding hooks up into brunette breasts. Janel looks stung and retreats, but then goes back again to try to crush this challenge. Good, solid exchange in close, but Janel getting to Britt’s breasts and sternum with repeated punching, then a nice digging hook deep into blonde belly. Britt in retreat gasping for air as the bell rings. She made it close, but Janel Parrish still wins this round.

R5: Janel must have liked the results she got of that body attack in R4 because she’s right back at Britt’s torso in this round. Britt inclined to keep her head protected and lash out with the jab when brunette gets too close, but as the minutes tick by, Britt can’t ignore the ceaseless Parrish pounding attack on her belly, breasts and finally the ribs. She tries to unleash at Janel’s head, but this exposes her head and she gets her cheekbones swatted hard, then a shot to that right eye opens a cut in her eyebrow. Britt can’t see well out of her right eye and has to keep her distance from Janel for the rest of the round. Janel takes this one by a good margin.

R6: Frantic work on Britt Robertson at the break to repair that right eyebrow cut. Area around eye looking red and swollen. Janel can see the damage too and seems to aim a barrage of punches at Britt’s injured eye. Britt keeps her head moving and her jab going to block the attack. Janel getting obsessed with that eye, neglects her own defenses and Britt able to take advantage to rattle Janel’s chin with quick counters. Janel looking shaken but has her guard up so Britt fires away at Janel’s midsection giving the PLP flyweight another body shelling. Janel finally counterattacks getting some leather into Britt’s body. Britt won’t fall back and there is a blazing body battle that ends with Janel forced back. Britt slow in pursuit thanks to the punching she took, but she’s managed to win a close round over the brunette.

R7:  Janel trying to be aggressive at the outset to regain lost momentum, but once again she is badly worked over to the body. Britt hitting as hard as she can and can see the shivers going down Janel’s thighs from the impacts. Janel lunging forward aiming a desperate blockbuster right at Britt’s head, but blonde moves her head to one side to let the punch slide by. Then Britt’s answering right catches Janel at the point of the chin. LIGHTS OUT! Janel just collapses all limp and helpless into Britt’s startled arms. Britt jumps back as Janel slides down her body and ends up sprawled at her feet. Britt heads for neutral corner and referee does his 10-count, but Janel can’t even raise herself up.
The Winner: KO7 BRITT ROBERTSON!

After: “It feels SO GOOD to have my first win here,” Britt eagerly tells press as they watch Janel carefully revived and the escorted from the ring. “She gave me a lot of fight, but she gave up too much of her body for too long, that’s what finally allowed me to get her chin and knock her cold. I can’t wait for my next fight!”

“I admit I got careless in the 7th, “ a sullen Janel Parrish later tells press, “but I am very tough in the body and she did not beat me to the body. I just let her have a clean shot at my chin and I ate the canvas because of it. That’s a painful lesson, but I will learn from it. This loss is a bitter disappointment, but it’s not a career-ender. I promise I will be back and I will win!”

Good competitive rookie fight, Skip Tracey thought later, it wasn’t clear how much Britt Robertson had learned since 2013, but she clearly HAD learned to be a better fighter. Just how much better would require more fights to determine. Meanwhile, Janel Parrish had lost again, and while she was defiant in post fight, Skip suspected she had to be worried about a contract renewal, though it was noting a couple of wins wouldn’t cure.

As for Skip himself, he thought it might be time he checked up on Edward “Fast Eddie” Fillmore and see what was up with the IFCB promotion these days. He already had received tips that Chloe Grace Moretz and Isabelle Fuhrman (who had turned 18 earlier this year) had been seen at the IFCB offices. There were even whispers Fast Eddie had been trying to sign “Game of Thrones” Maisie Williams to some sort of contract now that she, too, had turned 18. Skip was very curious to learn how much truth there was to these tales.
