BEFORE: Denise van Outen thinks this fight will start a long-standing rivalry between two Australian actresses who once topped the glamour charts while starring on 'Home & Away' soap opera and were destined to meet each other in the boxing ring sooner rather than later. Rhiannon Fish couldn't find her place on any of the ACB stables and headed to United Kingdom where she joined the Lioness Club over three years ago and settled herself very nicely in Europe racking up eight wins in 12 fights. Still, that didn't make her forget the scolding she suffered from Samara Weaving who openly dismissed her boxing skills and claimed she's simply not good enough to join the ACB front. Perhaps she was correct back in 2012 but Fish's BBU carrer justifies the move to the Northern Hemisphere and tonight it's the time for Weaving to back up her talk with some actual boxing performance! Can she silence the KO Club crowd and hand the hatred brunette the mentally-wise heaviest loss of her career? It's a tall order but one can't take anything for granted in a classic grudge feud between two flyweights!
Rhiannon Fish wears a red & blue floral schemed bikini and black gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a high curled ponytail. Samara Weaving wears a neon green bikini set and yellow gloves. Blonde hair tied in a loose ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1: This is the blonde's boxing debut and one can tell that early in the opening round as she allows the brunette slip into close range thumping rage that splits her mitts quickly and rocks her ponytail on and about. She tries to block Rhiannon's high tempo approach but bounces off the gloves and forearms in hectic fashion making no impression at all while the brunette keeps picking her off with forceful jabs and looks to trap her in the corner already. Samara's quick enough on her feet to avoid that fate but she spends rest of the round in constant retreat finding the BBU boxing drill a bit too hot at this stage. Fish scowls at her at the bell, "Fight, you little bytch!" and she's just about right according to everyone in the KO Club.
Round 2: Rhiannon enforces another close range tangle but this time Samara finds a piercing hook on the ribcage to stall the brunette's onslaught briefly following a quick chest bump off, Fish finds a wild hook on the temple to resume her drill and buries the subdued blonde under a barrage of high leather that smacks the ponytail around again and makes the younger actress squeal in pain. Rhiannon's all over her face thereafter and looks to knock her head right off with heavy blows that shove Weaving's gloves into her lips and the embattled girl has to seek an escape route just to survive; the crafty footwork helps her a lot and even if Fish refuses to pull the trigger in her pursuit, she's clearly on top of the newcomer after two rounds.
Round 3: Lioness coach Gina Wild urges the brunette to blow the fellow Aussie to bits before any sort of resistance comes along but the hurried pursuit lacks the precision and allows Samara to show some core defensive strenght for a change. She clinches Fish after ducking her shots in the opening minute and manages to flick few punches on the body before beating the brunette for a nasty overhand on the eye that wobbles Rhiannon into a standstill... a left handed hook bursts into her mouth moments later and sends her butt-in-ropes as the crowd is rendered silent and has to soak up a vicious body pounding from the blonde thereafter... Samara clobbers the toned midsection and tries to split Rhiannon's mitts again before the bell; she runs out of time to do it but gives the stunned rival a long death stare and nods back to her corner with a huge smile on her face. Game on?
Round 4: Fish is furious with that late charge from Weaving and quickly seeks more success in close range however the blonde finds her stride and bombs away upstairs to leave a couple of nasty shiners on the older girl's face... Rhiannon lacks the precision again and skims off the gloves to meet instant counterpunching menace; she has to back off after getting nailed on the mouth again while Weaving ups the footwork drill and hassles her in the center of the ring with more looping overhands... it's not what the Barnet crowd expected here but Fish tries to slow things down even further in the final minute and teases the blonde into a suicidal-like attack by dropping her arms alltogether, yet Weaving remains wary of the brunette's plans and circles around her throwing single punches instead to see out the clock.
Round 5: Nobody on the Lioness Club staff has managed to track Weaving's pre-fight sparring sessions and it quickly backfires on their girl as the blonde storms out of her stool to trigger immediate facial bashing and literally throw Fish out of her comfort zone. The brunette's ponytail begins to fly around worryingly often in the opening minute and she can only find a clinching respite to tame the blonde's bullying show. Still, Samara nails her on the ribs in the clinch and leaps with a drilling uppercut even before the command to sink Rhiannon on jelly knees on the spot... Ugh! The crowd didn't like that but referee is equally surprised by the blonde's speed and allows more facial misery to follow as Weaving dissects the high guard and tears the skin under Rhiannon's left eye sending her butt-in-ropes again. Fish reverts into a desperate earmuff but that does little to prevent the ribcage shellacking in the last thirty seconds of the round as Samara just works her guts out and yells in delight at the bell with the brunette extremely worn out by another disastrous round!
Round 6: This is going all downhill for the local stable and Gina Wild has no other advice for Fish than a full-blown attack. However Weaving is clearly the faster of the two across the canvas and weathers the jabbing storm with ease in the opening minute before sagging the brunette with a counterpunching menace thereafter. She loops repeated hooks into the bruised face and roots a wincing brunette to the spot; flicks a left hook on the stomach and bursts the arms wide open with a series of half-uppercuts that leave Rhiannon gasping for air... the dark-haired actress wobbles forward with her eyes closed and doesn't even notice a clubbing left uppercut that nails her on the jaw AND SENDS CRASHING FLAT ON HER BACK moments later... That punch truly silences the Barnet audience and it's a slow count to save Fish from a grudge fight demise... she's up at eight but showing a pair of misty eyes here and that only sparks more anger from Samara who bullies her around the ring in the final minute bombing more clean shots on the lumped up face... Rhiannon's spooked and unable to mount any resistance, getting chased around right until the bell and it's almost like Weaving knows she's got this in the bag now and doesn't need to rally back into this one anymore.
Round 7: The smile on the blonde's face looks ominous and the brunette simply needs more time to recover from losing three of the last four rounds. BronzedOz Boxing's coach Nicky Whelan doesn't want her girl to waste any time though and make sure she gets on the cover of Green & Gold's next edition: "Finish her off, now!!!", she tells Samara and the Rhiannon destruction follows suit... the brunette is in no shape to duck & weave from the blonde's punches that turn her face into one swollen up mess come the minute mark; the dark-haired actress can only sag on the ropes and hope for a miracle but that's rarely the case in BBU if you don't even try to fend off the cavalry... Weaving torches her guard with ruthless attack and drops her arms for good with a gut-checking hook on the liver... Rhiannon's head leans to the left side and her eyes close amid a quick change from the blonde that digs the yellow leather straight into her face wholesale... "Knock her head off!!!", Nicky Whelan screams from the corner and Fish is truly getting mauled here unable to show any sort of resistance.... ref looks at Gina Wild nodding with a hollow look in her eyes AND RUSHES IN TO STOP THE SLAUGHTERY... he hauls the blonde off but it's too late to save Fish from a massive mental blow in this grudge contest... TKO7 Samara Weaving!!!
AFTER: That's one unpopular victory in Barnet however it doesn't bother Weaving & Whelan much as the two share a warm hug and burst into laughing spams looking at Gina Wild's efforts to revive the battered Rhiannon into some sort of reaction. The brunette was almost knocked out on her feet and needs to be escorted back to the locker room as quickly as possible leaving the two Aussie blondes to accept the verdict in the middle of the ring. The crowd is buzzing with dislike and Samara rubs some extra salt into their wounds; she grabs the mic and announces she's ready for a rematch whenever Fish recovers from this beating.
Denise van Outen's betting odds are scraped but she's convinced we haven't seen the last of these two in the ring despite the fact Weaving's victory did more damage to Rhiannon's mindset rather than her bruised face: "It's one of those losses that can haunt you for months if you don't recover quickly... it's just one fight but with all the past shared and the grudge feuding, Fish has no choice but to pick up the gauntlet before Samara destroys her mentally for good! What a debut for that blonde though! Sign her into more action ASAP!"
Final result: Samara Weaving def. Rhiannon Fish TKO7.
