BEFORE: Heidi Range's title ambitions have flamed out over the past couple of seasons and the painful loss to Mutya Buena during the 'Sugababes War' was a massive psychological blow to the blonde's future prospects. With Jade Ewen set for the title tournament glory in the upcoming weeks and Buena now entering the US market, Range is forced to build her stock from the scratch and the word is, she'll be used as a mere block to Dannii Minogue's rematch challenge issued at Geri Halliwell. Just three years ago Heidi was supposed to dominate the Lioness Club flyweight roster but there's just no way to get around these Spice Girls and Minogue who almost stole the X Factor show away from Cheryl Cole. The demise of the Sugababes hasn't hit anyone as hard as Heidi and the Merseyside singer knows it best herself.
Meanwhile Georgia May Foote is back in the ring after losing a couple of fights to Roxanne Pallett and Ashley Mulheron last year. It's always hard to remain in the Beevers' Babes spotlight on a consistent basis and the brunette actress became the forgotten item once Jade Ewen joined over from Girls Friday and Fleur East made the headlines over the summer. Charlie Webster thinks that she needs a victory tonight even more than Range does but the Barnet audience has other ideas and would like to see Foote crippled at the end of the fight!
Heidi Range wears a red basque top, black knickers and red gloves. Shoulder lenght blonde hair straight. Georgia May Foote wears a silver basque top, green knickers and black gloves. Dark brown hair in loose waves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Blonde wants to make a statement early and rushes with a high jabbing approach to ice Georgia out in the middle of the ring before bending her sideways with a solid double combo on the temples. Foote tries to establish her balance but struggles in close range as Heidi romps her on the body and backs into the ropes in a long time absent furious barrage that once made her one of the hottest names in the division. Georgie can only clinch herself some time but remains buried on the ropes as the singer picks her off over the top and leaves first couple of cuts on the brunette's face at the bell.
Round 2:
Another blonde rush has Georgia's head snapping repeatedly and it's truly an inspired performance from Heidi here who dominates the close range assault to dump the actress on her heels and then makes her seek a getaway route fast. Georgia just can't find her rhythm amid all those punches coming at her but she still bends a few from the back foot and Heidi needs to be careful not to get caught with one of those bombs. The tempo slows down in the second part of the round but Heidi keeps the brunette wrapped in earmuff as she throws more single hands upstairs to freeze any meaningful response and it's obvious that Foote must come up with plan B if she wants to trouble the local favorite anytime soon.
Round 3:
Heidi lets another jabbing series go and finds the easy target with Georgia's head snapping again but this time the actress leans on the front leg instead of circling back and bombs a left cross on the nose to wobble the blonde for the first time tonight before adding a low punch on the liver area to make Range gurgle in sudden pain. Another left cross finds the nose and when a right uppercut connects with the jaw, Heidi goes shimmy shake and fails to brace a looping hook on the temple THAT SENDS HER DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE in a hurry... epic disaster for the Lioness Club continues as the blonde seemingly had things under control only for Foote to spoil the show... Heidi's more upset than shocked over the knockdown and jumps back to her feet at four... Georgia wants to barge in straight away but the close range execution breaks down and both girls tangle in a hectic clinch which actually works better for the Sugababes singer... ref doesn't want to separate the two hellcats and when Foote finally shakes off the blonde it's too late to make further inroads and Heidi escapes off the hook to avoid the Mandy Capristo disaster. But the crowd doesn't like it anyway!
Round 4:
Range tells coach Gina Wild it was just a lapse of concentration on her part and she still intends to work Foote over... both girls seek heavy damage early in the fourth and trade brutal punches over the top that leaves Georgia's face a bit worse to wear and allows Heidi to back her up to the corner where she slides in with the liver area check and bends the actress into a crunching uppercut on the jaw. Foote sags in pain and has to apply the earmuff defence but that frozes her out completely and results in the blonde pounding along to the body to run away with the score. Heidi gasses out late but keeps her foe trapped in the corner and the ref fails to deal with the stalemate again however Georgia won't mind that for once as she took her dose of leather already and just wanted the clock to expire.
Round 5:
Another jabbing drill bursts through the brunette's guard and leaves her exposed to Range's increasing brutality... the blonde groans with every punch landing on her opponent's face and the response is cumbersome only grazing the singer's flesh... the big punch that sinks Foote on her heels comes just after the minute mark and results in a visible swelling around the left eye... the blonde's gung-ho approach continues after that and reels the quickly gassing out brunette back to the ropes where she manages to halt the barrage briefly with a couple of heavy hooks on Range's face but when she gets clipped on the rack it's all back to square one and has the crowd on their feet... Heidi almost headbutts the actress with more offensive gains while thumping her guts to a mush... Georgia is out of breath at the bell and just cannot embrace the singer's leather rush at all.
Round 6:
Charlie Webster believes that Georgia is actually behind on the cards even despite that knockdown but Heidi acts like she needs one back to confirm her advantage. She fakes a high approach and slips underneath to gut-check the brunette again which folds Georgia's offense on the spot and enforces a lenghty clinch. It's probably time for plan C now but Foote just refuses to let go and receives an official warning for her troubles. She drops Heidi a couple of hooks on the kidneys too and does everything she can to disrupt the rhythm leaving the crowd jeering and whistling wholesale. The ugliest round of the entire card concludes in another stalemate and Heidi looks her opponent in the eye as if saying: "U ain't go anything left there?"
Round 7:
Georgia sets up an early dive upstairs and knocks the singer's head about for the good part of a minute but then gets belted across the liver area and shuts down immediately paving the way for the blonde's familiar rush. Heidi's back to moaning herself into the destruction mood as she splits the gloves and bounces into the swollen brow ridge to dump the brunette on the turnbuckle where a classic switch on the midsection rubs more salt into her confidence wounds. Foote tries to apply another clinch but is stunned by an uppercut to the chin and soon endures a left/right combo on the temples that drops her into a belting hook on the liver area. Georgia spits out her mouthguard to bide some time but is now officially deducted a point for the intentional break. Heidi keeps her trapped in the corner for remainder of the round and bombs more leather over the top; Foote's sagging badly at the bell and looks to be running on empty with her face in dismal shape after all the punches she's soaked up from the raging blonde.
Round 8:
Heidi looks much better physically and hassles Georgia into a leather rush that is destined to end badly for the otherwise attractive actress... the facial barrage bursts the brunette's guard into pieces and allows the singer to thump more swelling on the wounded brow ridges before a cross hook on the lips spins a yelping Foote around... she barely has time to settle on her heels when Heidi NAILS her with a brutal left hook on the ear.... AND GEORGIA GOES DOWN ON HER BACK... the legs shoot up in the air and the Beevers' actress just collapsed like a sack of potatoes... she sits up at five and makes an effort to beat the count... she's upright at eight and nods back to the ref but then when she tries to make a step forward she wobbles forward into his embrace and simply checks out with her eyes dead hollow... it's all over... TKO8 Heidi Range!!!
AFTER: That was the best fight from Heidi for a long while and a perfect way to make the upcoming Dannii Minogue test a competitive affair despite all the odds. The Aussie singer looked mighty impressive in destroying Adele Silva just few minutes ago but Heidi did her part too, she smoked Georgia May Foote into a stoppage pulp and that third round knockdown does look a bit accidental after all. However there will be no second chances against Minogue who's sharp as a knife given her age and would like nothing better than to dump Heidi in a trash bin as she tries to spoil the post-fight announcements and climbs up to the ring only to be shoved away by the combined efforts of Gina Wild, Jeanette Biedermann and Melanie Brown. Heidi notices the Aussie veteran making some throat slit gestures at her but tells Charlie Webster that she's not intimidated by that whatsoever: "Yeah, Dannii's kinda tough but it's time someone knocked some sense into her! Not every opponent she faces will crumble down mentally even before the first punch and allthough I'm aware she wrecked Cheryl Cole a couple of times before, I'm not gonna serve as the cannon fodder to a 44 year old tramp! Mark my words! I will cause THE upset of the season and knock the stupid cow OUT on the ACB guest card. You can take it to the bank!"
Final result: Heidi Range def. Georgia May Foote TKO8.
