BEFORE: Lucy Pargeter makes one last bid to rescue her BBU career but according to Denise van Outen, there's no way back from a potential loss to ACB newcomer Zoe Naylor. The odds are stacked heavily against the former Emmerdale actress who looks clearly nervous before the opening bell.
On the other hand there isn't much to be told about Naylor before her debut even though 'Green & Gold Magazine' lead reporter Sarah Cummings was happy about Zoe's choice of opponent. Even back in the southern hemisphere they've heard about Lucy's terrible record and that's not a good sign for all the BBU fans!
Zoe Naylor wears a bright green bikini and white gloves. Lucy Pargeter wears a red bikini and black gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.
Round 1:
Lucy loops a couple of early hooks but is blitzed by Zoe's gut-checking drive and quickly bellows out behind a tight guard that is simply ravaged by Naylor's follow up blast. Zoe truly doesn't respect the embattled English actress and puts the hammer down early thumping the older brunette's guts until Lucy begins to scowl in discomfort. This only fuels Naylor's determination and she pounds the hapless foe back to the ropes where she continues the body assault and has Pargeter caved in wholesale. The crowd isn't exactly surprised by Lucy's struggles and she barely opens up to throw weak punches that bounce off the Aussie's guard before a late cross hooking switch finally connects with Pargeter's face and allows Zoe to sink her on soft knees in the dying seconds of a one-sided contest.
Round 2:
Lucy tries to circle herself out of Zoe's striking range but fails to match the newcomer's speed across the canvas and soaks up a few gut-wrenching hooks that freeze her out in the middle of the ring. She swings wide of the target in a desperate counterpunching effort and as Zoe ducks underneath the wayward combo, she then clubs the jugs to wobble Pargeter back to the ropes where she rocks her with a brutal uppercut to the chin. Lucy bounces off the ropes sideways and has no time to react for the follow up that nails her on the nose moments later... she goes all wobbly butt but Naylor still finds another hook on the temple to complete the job... PARGETER CRASHES DOWN ON HER SIDE and that was effectively just a matter of time... she looks up at her rival with glassy eyes and the whole Echo Arena begins to realize there's nothing out there to save the English brunette from a looming disaster... she's up at seven but looks for a way out of the fight more than anything else and it's only down to Zoe's raw presence that she doesn't knock Lucy out for good before the clock expires. She still buries the Emmerdale veteran under a barrage of punches aimed at the body which leaves Pargeter yelping in pain and almost sobbing her heart out at the bell.
Round 3:
Zoe quickly tracks Lucy down and connects her mitts with the older brunette's chin for a swift change that exposes the weak guard. Lucy wants to retreat from the close range heat but trips over her own feet and has to drop her gloves seeking a balance check which allows Naylor to blast a left/right combo on the nose and send the English actress trembling against the turnbuckle. Lucy seemingly awaits the butcher's knife and Zoe pierces her guard with more jabs to snap the head back & forth in the corner before the aching spasms become too obvious for everyone in the arena... Zoe hammers Lucy down, shuts her eyes for good just past the minute mark and signs off her dominance with a crushing hook on the temple... LUCY GOES DOWN... the English veteran crashes down on her left side and remains crippled for the next thirty seconds while the ref didn't even bother to start the count... KO3 Zoe Naylor!!!
AFTER: That was a perfect debut for the Aussie newcomer who dominated the lacklustre actress from the word go and finished the job in a little over seven minutes. It's as impressive as it gets even considering Pargeter's terrible reputation and Zoe wants to have a shot at Suranne Jones already! The Green & Gold research crew must be really working hard to set up more ACB success over in the UK and Denise van Outen admits the 130 lbs plus division would use a new name to spice up the stagnant roster - under one condition - "Let's just hope that Naylor isn't the second coming of Erika Heynatz who broke all the records during her reign of fire!"
On the other hand one must believe this was the last time fans got to see Lucy Pargeter in the ring. She turns 39 next year and her dismal record only got worse adding more salt into the reputation injury. Lucy's probably not good enough to serve as a 'go-to-girl' for the newcomers anymore and if Fight Club UK manager Katie Price wasn't so busy setting up the Kim Kardashian JMD clash, she'd have announced Pargeter's release here in Liverpool already.
Final result: Zoe Naylor def. Lucy Pargeter KO3.
