Before
After seeing Emma Glover and Keeley Hazell grab fine wins on their This is Glamour debuts, Jennifer Ellison was keen to get back in the ring. She was consulted as part of the negotiation of her next opponent and was clear in her preference: Stacey Massey. When asked to explain her choice, the explanation came out in a torrent of Scouse, “A lad’s mag had me booked for a cover shoot a few years ago. I turned up on the day only to find that there had been a last minute change of plan, and that they now wanted Massey instead, so that they could show off her new boobs. These things happen in the industry, but it is normal to apologise to the bumped girl when it does. Massey never got in contact, so I want my fists to do the talking when we meet.”

Massey, for her part, was keen to end the year by avenging her loss in October to Monika Pietrasinska.

The match is scheduled for ten rounds in the Lightweight division and takes place in Liverpool’s Docklands. Ellison enters the ring in an indigo bikini with matching gloves, whilst Massey wears a set of cream bra and panties with black trim and black gloves.

Round 1: Ellison’s face literally trembling with nerves at the stare down. The first minute is two women staring at each other. Second minute is mostly two women staring at each other, a couple of flicking shots on either side. Ellison slips two shots from Massey. Nobody's landed anything significant. Ellison with a good right hook that catches Massey off balance, and that wins the round!

Round 2: First minute is again very tentative. That is a nice way of saying nobody's taking any chances whatsoever. Ellison with a body shot. Massey clips Ellison with a left hand in the final minute, Ellison moves in and lands part of a shot, too. Ellison with a little right at the end of the round.

Round 3: Massey throws a long left, lands it, but Ellison doesn't get buckled or anything. HARD COUNTER RIGHT FROM ELLISON AND DOWN GOES MASSEY! She's up, but there's a minute left in this round. Massey throws a long left again and lands. Another hard counter hook and down goes Massey a second time! Fight back on, 45 seconds to go in the round! Massey in the corner and Ellison looking to end this thing! Massey works out of the corner, but she's out on her feet right now. Ellison just bombing away with big shots, but Massey staying up and survives the round!

Round 4: First minute here is slow, so if Massey needed time to get her legs back, she's getting it. Left hand from Massey. Ellison has no intention of leading action in this fight, and so far so good. Ellison giving this round away, though, but it's winnable with 20 seconds remaining. Jab from Massey.

Round 5: Left hand from Massey to start this round. But again about halfway into the round, Ellison lands a big left, Massey taking that one well. Ellison dictates most of this round, and takes another.

Round 6: Ellison continues to fight smart, not giving Massey anything to come back into this fight, and she's so far been able to avoid the big swings from Massey, like Massey is telegraphing shots. Nobody landed much in this round, but Massey had a decent body shot at one point, and shades it.

Round 7: Ellison' jab working a bit again this round. Massey has no rhythm, she's done nothing well in this fight. But she's doing a bit better in part because Ellison isn't doing a whole lot either. Both girls jabbing some this round. Massey lands a couple of late shots.

Round 8: Ellison maybe doing a bit more this round, which is again extremely slow. Jabbing and jabbing from both girls. Massey seems hesitant to take another risk until she absolutely has to do so.

Round 9: Massey jabs Ellison. This is the best Massey has looked all fight, probably. Relaxed and her work is flowing better. Both girls jabbing some, but they're generally short.

Round 10: There's a tenseness here but it's not resulting in any real action. Massey coming alive in the final minute, actually throws a couple body shots. Ellison moving. Massey back to the body. Massey almost catches Ellison with a big left, but ultimately does not.

Ellison gains the win with a split decision from the judges.

After
Denise van Outen: “Jen, both of you raised your hands at the end of the fight as if to celebrate. Did you really think you had done enough?”

JE: “Stacey got stronger as the fight went on but I still knocked her down twice. It wasn’t pretty for the fans in there but ultimately a win is a win. Coming back to your question, I don’t think she will be getting her tits out for her fans any time soon, after the punishment I meted out in there. Then again, maybe she will, and just get the bruises photoshopped out. As for me, my days of taking my top off are behind me.”

DvO:”Jen, you’ve said it yourself, you are not getting any younger. Will 2016 be the year you push on for another shot at the Lightweight title?”

JE:”Everyone agrees I was desperately unlucky in my previous two title fights against Lisa Maffia and Poppy Montgomery. Doutzen Kroes isn’t a true champion in the eyes of many of the girls and hopefully I can get another shot at the belt in 2016. ”
