UNIFIED BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE

Before: "I choked last time," admits Shannen Doherty in prefight. "I just wanted to beat Dushku so bad, I let it get it to me and I didn't perform. Things will be different this time. My fans, and I'm sure Eliza's fans, are thirsty for this fight - they're tired of us beating the hell out of blonde ditzes - they want to see us tested." Eliza favoured, but not taking veteran Doherty for granted. "She's coming up and that's always hard - I think she was shocked at how hard I was punching last time - she'll be better prepared this time. Shannen - she's a little fragile, I feel, for bantam - but she's dangerous until you break her down. I can't take her for granted." Shannen in black bikini, low ponytail and forelocks - Eliza in red leather bikini.

During R1: Eliza: elbows in, dukes up, rotating clockwise. Shannen: left hand low, right cheek height, giving ground, stepping in either direction. Doherty marking Eliza with the upjab, thrusting it to belly, striking it between Dushku's gloves. Dushku's trying to walk Shannen down - Doherty managing the pressure with her left hand cupping behind Dushku's head, guiding Eliza in and holding her in close for sawing uppercut rights. Doherty able to use the riding left to anchor Dushku for sidesteps and Shannen's footwork is smoother than usual: she'll get low, ease her left shoulder into Shannen and pivot round to her right, neatly turning the champ. Doherty punctuating the round with some stern right hands up top and a thick, thumping left hook in behind Dushku's right elbow - good Shannen stanza, keeping Eliza under control.

R2: Not broken, don't fix it - Doherty boxing athletically, long stepping footwork, driving jabs body and head, drawing warnings for that grabby left hand around Eliza's head. Shannen's hook off the right hand is really getting in there, parking loud behind Eliza's right elbow - Dushku wincing, stepping out to breathe through pursed lips - she's having trouble negotiating distance, getting a little frustrated. Final minute - Eliza trying to get the jab started - Shannen roping a bashing right over top catches Dushku behind the ear, scattering the champ sideways to her right. Doherty striding in, loops another crashing right over the top - partially blocked, but she licks that snapping left hook in on pale abs and gets Eliza cringing forward. Little step left, Doherty keying on the waist hooks, then a curling left uppy between the mitts, walloping hook on the ear - Eliza sent staggering to her left, unable to hold her ground. Dushku disorganized - Doherty steps in the jab and turns over a PULVERIZING right cross to belt back Dushku's stunned face - DUSHKU GOES DOWN! Crowd surging to it's feet to get a better look - Eliza on her back, face stretched in anguish - she rolls to her side, struggling to shake it off, but the 10 count passes her by! Good Lord - KO2 in spectacular fashion, Shannen Doherty!

After: Doherty clinical in taking Dushku apart with jabs, body work and accurate power - neatly paying Eliza back for a similar dismissal in the first fight. Shannen removes gloves, shakes out her glossy mane, and needs more - helping herself to a shaken Eliza in the Dushku corner and marching out for a shoddy procession. Prancing walk, then Dushku is jammed in a corner for Shannen's mounted pose. Doherty climbing ropes, brushing hair out of Eliza's eyes then taking a firm left fistful near the left temple, raising the right hand high in triumph. Eliza woozy, devastated, wrapping her arms around Shannen's pale thighs in reflex - Dushku lucky she's not blonde or she'd be making the cover of a certain magazine with this display.
