BEFORE: Gemma Merna still looks to score that elusive first victory over bitter rival Kara Tointon next year but in the mean time she jumps into an opportunity to dismantle Australian actress Esther Anderson who was last seen in BBU a couple of years ago when she was stopped by Ola Jordan. That's not a reason to be ashamed of since the Polish born dancer has emerged as a Top 10 ranked contender but Denise van Outen doesn't know what to expect from the 36 year old brunette who competed very rarely even in her homeland ACB organization.
On the other hand Merna's suffered some upset losses in her career before and remains a betting nightmare but she can sell tickets thanks to her bust size alone and now with Michelle Keegan competing strictly in the States, she probably owns the biggest set of flyweight jugs outside of the PageThrees stable. And that's a reason to be proud of, right?
Esther Anderson wears a red bikini set and black gloves. Long brown hair wet & straight, tucked behind the ears. Gemma Merna wears a pink bikini set and white gloves. Long blonde hair in loose waves tucked behind the ears. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1: Gemma's really fired up to punish the brunette and closes her down within seconds but after the initial jabbing charge crashes off the high guard Esther counters the blonde and loops a hooking sequence to send Merna on her heels. A hectic close range brawl follows but Gemma's attacks are too inaccurate and Anderson slips underneath to punish the ribcage bumping her off to the ropes in the proccess. Another overhand swing goes astray and enables Esther to pick the blonde off with single strikes that force Gemma into a deep earmuff in the closing seconds and that's not what the Cardiff Arena expected at all.
Round 2: Esther's not the hardest of punchers but she shows superior agility to deke away from the blonde's rushing approach and keeps her at bay with very accurate counterpunching instead. Gemma ignores her mistimed attacks and keeps firing away in mindless but lacklustre fashion until the brunette belts her across the midsection and sends reeling onto the ropes. A quick jabbing series follows and smacks the buxom blonde on the nose before Esther settles into pounding her body but she somehow avoids clipping the overzealous rack and allows Merna to clinch her in the dying seconds to prevent a landslide success.
Round 3: More problems for Gemma who simply can't match the fellow actress across the canvas and loops several wayward punches before wobbling into a heavy uppercut on the jaw that triggers a brutal head snapping route. Esther leans on the front leg and whacks the blonde in close range pounding her back to the turnbuckle in the proccess but another clinch shuts her off and allows Merna to survive a difficult period. Ref separates the two women and Anderson for once blasts a cross hook wide and gets tagged on the ribs herself; Gemma drives forward and punches the older actress back to center of the ring and even slams a cross hook on the lips to wobble Esther on her heels. Both women bump off jug-to-jug afterwards and Merna was always destined to win that battle but she lets Anderson slips back into mid distance where she has no chance to catch her again before the bell.
Round 4: This is a frustrating display from the buxom blonde who loses her temper in the opening minute of the fourth and lashes out in fruitless fashion trying to somehow catch the fast moving brunette. She fails in her efforts and wobbles too far forward allowing Esther to close right back in and finally thump some leather on the jugs that whips the Hollyoaks blonde on her heels with a loud gasp. The Aussie switches upstairs in a hurry and blasts a left/right cross on the temples to shut Merna's eyes before whacking her against the nose that snaps the head back instantly. Gemma's arms drop low as she struggles to find her feet and Esther smacks her on the navel before clipping the jugs again. Gemma goes all wobbly butt yet she doesn't have the speed neccessary to escape the heat and another hook on the temple SENDS HER SPINNING DOWN ON THE CANVAS... Denise van Outen is shocked by this outcome and Anderson just struts back to her corner watching the blonde's efforts to beat the count with a cheeky smile on her face... Merna's up at eight but breaths heavily and indicates to the ref her bikini is about to come off... that's a dubious call but she gets checked by the Lookout! Atlantic crew which leaves her in mid distance thereafter and just circling away from Esther's leather rush. A very lucky escape for the blonde who nonetherless shrugs her head at the bell while Anderson nods back to coach and realizes she must finish the English girl as soon as possible.
Round 5: Anderson jumps the gun and has the referee in the way briefly so she can't quite smack the blonde on the face but Merna leaps with a crunching uppercut that nails the brunette on the chin and manages to find a follow up on the ear which finally sinks Esther on her knees. A close range brawl gives Gemma the chance to punish the body and the repeated piercing harpoons really take some air out of the Aussie actress who applies a lenghty clinch before Merna can use her rack into bumping her off. Esther tries to channel some JMD ideas but it's almost too late for that and that's a bad no-call from her stable as Gemma blasts a vicious left cross on the eye and whoops a follow up on the nose that sends the brunette spinning and scowling onto the ropes. She bounces off them straight into another hook on the nose and bends down with a shrieking spasm and by the time she raises her gloves up Gemma just blasts her on the chin a couple of times and dumps onto the turnbuckle where she switches downstairs for a bruising ribcage assault that is only halted by the bell.
Round 6: Esther felt that body charge late in the fifth and for once Gemma matches her speed across the canvas which allows her to slip into more midriff punishment that simply dumps the brunette into a standstill come the minute mark. Anderson's fitness begins to catch up with her and she gets pounded into the corner with relative ease as Gemma's melons bounce around and bump into the other cleavage as well. A brief clinch stalls the Brit's progress but a harpoon blast around the elbows resumes the punishment and shuts a quickly gassing out Esther for remainder of the round with Gemma spiking her liver area and sagging on her knees late in the going. Merna needs to catch her breath after that offensive charge but she still looks leaps and bounds better physicall than her aching opponent who hugs her ribs and groans out in significant pain.
Round 7: Gemma blasts out a good cross to open the seventh and Esther's guard struggles to embrace the power anymore which leads into a frantic head snapping display that sends the tiring brunette onto the ropes. Merna gurgles in her efforts to put the Aussie away and while she smacks her on the nose a couple of times the real damage only happens when she switches to the body and just pummels Anderson's ribcage into stupor. The embattled brunette leans forward and bellows out into a desperate cover which renders her offensive plans extinct and Merna cashes in with a batting series on the liver area TO RAGDOLL ESTHER ON HER KNEES through sheer ferocity of her attacks... Anderson's bends her head against the canvas and moans in pain but still barely beats the count after a brave effort.... she remains trapped on the ropes and Merna has little trouble dissecting the high guard and blasting the lips into a swollen mess... nothing comes back from the Aussie in the final minute and she wobbles against the turnbuckle to warrant a stoppage but the ref hesitates just a fraction too long and the bell saves Esther from a looming disaster.
Round 8: Nobody in the Cardiff Arena thinks that Anderson can survive another beating in the eight and Merna makes sure it's a quick one... she shatters the high guard with a batting left/right combo and immediately drills the navel to sink the brunette on her knees with eyes closed... the legs simply give way on Esther who goes all shimmy shake but the blonde still finds a left hook on the busted up lips to SEND HER DOWN FOR KEEPS... Anderson crashes heavily on her left side and the ref doesn't even bother with the count... KO8 Gemma Merna!!!
AFTER: The Lookout! Atlantic contingent dominates the Boxing Day PPV line-up and that's a perfect start for the otherwise fearsome stable even though Gemma took a little while to get going and was even decked in the fourth. It's a bad result for Esther who really needed a win to shrug off the jobber tag and she had the buxom blonde at her mercy but fumbled the golden opportunity and was swiftly put down in the eight. Gemma takes a couple of minutes to find her breath and when she talks to Georgie Thompson she indicates how important tonight's result was: "Yeah, that's right. I mean Emilia Clarke and Jenna Coleman are up there in the States and I have to fight the flyweight division on my own! The Lookout standards are so high it puts enormous pressure on everybody to perform. I'd like to think that Kara Tointon watched this bout and gives her another chance to finally knock her out but hey, if she doesn't than I might look for some JMD action next year. Esther was so foolish to avoid my rack, she was scared of it or what? (laughs). But once I started to pound her insides out her ass was all mine! You must have really enjoyed that as much as I did, right?"
Final result: Gemma Merna def. Esther Anderson KO8.
