(The Metermaids vs BBU Free Agent)

BEFORE: Jaime Murray split a pair of fights since her October BBU debut, first she stopped Martine McCutcheon but then suffered the same fate at the hands of Beevers veteran Gemma Bissix and now wants to simply end the year with a positive record which is not out of reach considering her tonight's opponent - TV presenter Shelly Craft - makes her official ring debut.

Craft is actually six years older than Murray and Georgie Thompson wonders if she'd be better off working as a coach but given the longevity of Elle MacPherson and Nikki Visser it's easy to understand why the Australian fighters have a habit of pushing the age limits more than anyone else around the world. The odds are stacked against Craft though but Murray must be careful she doesn't underestimate the... well, crafty looking blonde.

Shelly Craft wears an orange bikini set and black gloves. Jaime Murray wears a green bikini set and white gloves. Long black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:
Jaime thunders past the high guard in the opening minute and begins to rack up punches against the blonde's face which prompts a furious but ineffective response as Shelley skids off the forearms and just can't land her strikes on target yet. She reels back to the ropes in a quick escape once she realizes that Jaime's on top of her but that only earns her a brief respite as the brunette whacks her over the top in mid distance and drills the brow ridge to make the older woman scowl already. Shelley wobbles back to the turnbuckle and soaks up a heavy rush on the midsection before Murray dissects the high guard again and runs away with a facial assault in the closing seconds to keep Craft completely shut out.

Round 2:
More of the same in the second as Murray's upstairs assault spikes the high guard all too easily and dumps the blonde Aussie on her heels. Jaime simply finds the aggressive drill too much into her liking and she really wants to make up for the Bissix collapse by thumping repeated leather on the face to back a cumbersome opponent against the ropes. Shelley winces from behind the guard but her response is tame and woefully lacklsutre and she gets shut down butt-in-ropes for the remainder of the round with Jaime pounding her midsection in the final minute and just sinking into a yelping stupor.

Round 3:
It's as bad as it gets for Craft who gets stunned by a cross hooking route seconds into the third and wobbles into an uppercut mayhem that shatters her guard and makes her stumble back to the ropes with no defence to speak of. Jaime launches a flurry of leather from point blank range and snaps the older woman's head backwards before stucking a drilling jab on the solar plexus which renders the blonde numb. An uppercut follow up blasts Shelley on the jaw AND DUMPS HER FLAT ON HER FACE moments later... Jaime bunny hops around the fallen Aussie and blows the Cardiff audience a couple of kisses but it's not over yet as Craft beats the count at seven and suddenly jumps into a desperate attack that fails to catch much of the brunette's flesh but prevents the looming disaster and makes Jaime think better off it. That's easy to understand since the Hammersmith actress dominates the scorecards at this point and doesn't need to rush her actions.

Round 4:
Shelley realizes that she needs to recover that knockdown and wastes a lot of energy hassling the younger opponent but Jaime locks her down in a clinch far too easily and soaks up a jabbing series on the midsection that doesn't really help the blonde's cause much. The pace of the fight slows down but Murray allows the Aussie to punch herself out a bit on purpose and only launches a comeback in the final thirty seconds smacking Craft's high guard again and bursting her lips into a swollen mess with a surgical jabbing rally. Shelley gets dumped butt-in-ropes and ends the round gasping for air while the English actress laughs out loud noticing the fast swelling lips of her otherwise hapless opponent.

Round 5:
Jaime ducks underneath a hooking route and cracks a jabbing series on the guts rendering the blonde breathless, a quick jug-to-jug bump off drops Shelley on her heels and she has no time to react for a brutal left cross that nails her on the nose and bawls her eyes out... Jaime hammers in a right hand on the nose and that makes the blonde scream out AND JUST RAGDOLL FLAT ON HER BACK moments later... "Oh my God! Oh my God!", Craft rolls to her side covering her face with both gloves and it looks like she thinks her nose might have been fractured... the count is somewhat slow and enables the Aussie presenter to rise up at nine but she turns back to her corner and indicates she can't breathe at all and leans against the ropes refusing to continue the fight... ref has no options but to wave the fight off and officially terminate Shelley's miserable BBU debut... TKO5 Jaime Murray!!!

AFTER: The betting odds were correct for once and Jaime simply smoked Shelley into a pile of hot mess but was denied a juicy knock out thanks to the blonde's apparent nose injury. It's not often you see such veteran babes battle it out like it's a spring break contest and most of the flyweight division would be proud of Jaime's ferocious action however it must be said that Shelly offered her very little resistance and never looked like coming back following the first knockdown. Still, Kelly Reilly would like to upset the blonde herself to further annoy Murray and Georgie Thompson reports that these two free agents really hate each other guts and want to apply for a place on the the next Grudge Sessions PPV which should happen within a couple of months time.

Final result: Jaime Murray def. Shelley Craft TKO5.
