BEFORE: This is the Co-Main Event of the Boxing Day PPV as former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins returns to Cardiff to clash gloves with none other but reigning lightweight champion Doutzen Kroes who's still undecided whether she should vacat the straps and make a permanent move across the Atlantic. Karolina Kurkova made that decision earlier this year and her pillar-to-post beating of Krystal Forscutt just minutes ago confirms that the grass is truly greener on the other side.
The title belt is NOT on the line tonight and neither are the betting odds on the Aussie blonde who was sensationally knocked out by Georgia Salpa on the Ashes 2013 when she was last visiting United Kingdom. Needless to say the very same Salpa got roasted by rookie Jodi Gordon earlier tonight which serves as your random spoiler in the pack.
Jennifer Hawkins wears a golden bikini with green trim and green gloves. Long blonde hair in loose waves. Doutzen Kroes wears a violet bikini set with silver trim and silver gloves. Blonde hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Kroes wants to upset the Aussie model by blasting a quick hooking route up the middle but the older blonde ducks underneath them and begins to hassle the rack which in turn catches the Dutch girl off guard. It seems like every single fighter wants to try some JMD these days even to soften up her foe and it's not something the Aussie guests are known for so Kroes allows some heavy slugging to punish her jugs before she strikes back but still gets NAILED with a hammer blow on the brow ridge and wobbles on her heels with the arms falling by the wayside... And Hawkins clatters into her chin SENDING THE BBU CHAMP ON HER BUMS... another shocker in the making? If the Katie Price demise wasn't enough now we have former Miss Universe clocking one of the most impressive fighters in the whole of BBU! Doutzen's more annoyed that hurt over the sudden encounter with the boards and rises up at seven spitting verbal abuse in her native language... Jennifer ain't a Boer so there's little chance she gets anything of that but even she realizes she's awaken a true lioness and Kroes leaps forward with a jabbing drill but meets a solid guard and succeeds in only shutting down more Aussie menace rather than actually hurting Hawkins back.
Round 2:
Heavy slugging continues from both sides and Jennifer gives the champ a handful of leather upstairs which suddenly makes her a true contender for the straps - if only the right contract was signed beforehand. Kroes has to soak up a facial striking galore and begins to gurgle in anger as she can't quite beat the Aussie for pace and drops on her heels again with Hawkins scything her across the face and delivering the goods in numbers. She smoked FCBA veteran Phoebe Tonkin in less than six minutes last time out and apparently Kroes and the Lookout! Atlantic crew didn't get that memo right. A flurry of jabs bounces off the high guard and leaves the Dutch powerhouse unable to grasp this fight at all while Hawkins keeps picking her off and runs away with second round on the spin.
Round 3:
Kroes finally barges her way onto the body and clips Hawkins' jugs but eats immediate reply over the top which mauls her lips into a bad swelling. However she refuses to buckle this time and for once beats the older blonde for a quick punch on the eye and adds a riffle hook on the temple. Jennifer sinks a little on her knees but the brief pause in her otherwise high tempo assault is enough for Doutzen to sneak through the hole and strike on the chin with surgical precision. Hawkins' head snaps back and the Aussie gets quickly reeled on her heels with Kroes mounting a strong challenge up the alley and drilling the fellow model's guts in the proccess. Hawkins shuts the Dutch cavalry down with a lenghty clinch and prevents the champion from bumping her off to the ropes but the round is probably tied at best and Kroes looks much more comfortable now that she's wobbled Jennifer's comfort cage a little.
Round 4:
Another right-on-right exchange leaves Doutzen's lips bleeding but she finds the hook on the temple to upset Jennifer's circling route and dumps her on the heels with a quick follow up on the solar plexus. Hawkins stumbles to the corner but uses her speed to get out of there just in time however she becomes the hunted animal across the boards with Kroes moving extremely well on her toes to track her down and beat for another duell over the top. Hawkins' head snaps back and Doutzen punishes her to the body thereafter assuming full control come the final minute where she clobbers the pageant's ribcage and flicks a couple of late hooks on the chin as well. Hawkins escapes the round short of breath but still staring at her rival with very little respect.
Round 5:
More ruthless action to start the fifth and finally Jennifer's face gets mauled into some visible bruising as Doutzen clobbers her up the middle and finds the strenght to dissect the guard for a subsequent flurry of punches that make the former Miss Universe duck away in hot retreat. She loses her footing though and gets caught as Kroes unloads the heavy artillery and keeps thumping the Aussie into the corner where she switches for a body pounding assault and leaves the fellow blonde gasping for air while trying to bump her off in the proccess. That's not gonna work against the current champion who smacks the Aussie with more jabs on the body and keeps her pinned in the corner for remainder of the round. Jennifer looks a bit uneasy as she walks back to her corner and avoids looking Kroes in the eye, a significant change compared to the other rounds.
Round 6:
Hawkins seeks to resume the early success and enforces the close range drill but after thumping Doutzen's lips into more swelling and blood seeping reality she gets caught on the liver area with a quick but heavy harpoon and caves in on the spot. She wobbles forward with a loud yelp and fails to embrace the giant-killing uppercut bursting her clean on the jaw... AND DOWN GOES HAWKINS collapsing face-first at the Dutch model's feet with her butt sticking out in the air... Another one-punch game changer from Kroes? Jennifer's gallant performance comes to a shocking end as she rolls onto her side and allthough she tries to beat the count she simply can't fight the dizziness off and remains on her back as the count reaches ten! KO6 and still the hottest name in town, Doutzen Kroes!!!
AFTER: Give all credit to the Aussie pageant who caused Douzten so much trouble it almost defied reality in the opening two rounds. You don't see Kroes tasting the boards any given Sunday so the first knockdown was almost one of a kind. But the difference was that Kroes beat the count and came back to get even with the fellow blonde who in turn couldn't fight off her experience with the boards and was duly counted out! Doutzen's past career at welterweight certainly comes in handy at times and as impressive as Hawkins was tonight, she simply doesn't have the bigger punch of the two. But if she learns how to avoid getting caught with the welter-like strike, she can apply for the BBU lightweight title oportunity anytime she wants. Or she can see out the Dutch model's reign and set her sights on someone else.
Karolina Kurkova interrupts Jennifer's exit from the arena and both these blondes get quickly involved in a shouting match and it's rather clear that beating the crap out of Krystal Forscutt wasn't enough for the Czech model and she still wants to rearrange Hawkins' face somehwere down the line. Old tempers flare as BBU TV heads for the commercial and we're just minutes away from the Main Event which should most likely reveal the name of Jenna-Louise Coleman's next title opponent.
Final result: Doutzen Kroes def. Jennifer Hawkins KO6.
