WILLA HOLLAND VS NICOLA PELTZ

Nicola: 20 YO, 5’5 (1.65 m), 0-1-0 since 2015, Unmanaged

Before: “Making your debut as a “Mystery Opponent’ in an Asylum PPV like I did is a mixed blessing,” Nicola Peltz confided at the pre-fight press event. “I got my debut fight but I could hear people whispering ‘Who is SHE?’ I want you to know I’m the blonde chick from the last “Transformers’ movie and I’ve been a regular on ‘Bates Motel’. So I am hoping to get the fans (and potential managers to notice me. Of course, I know the best way to do that is to win. I lost my first fight to Chloie Bennet and I know Willa has a real edge on me in experience, but I feel I have more desire—I want the win more than she does!”

Willa Holland takes the podium: “First, of all, let me make one thing very clear: I am the fighter who most wants to win this fight. I am sorry Nicola, I know how difficult it can be to establish yourself around here, but I have worked very hard to get where I am now. Losing my last fight to Alesha Dixon was a step back. That is not the place I want to stay—I am 4-8, I want a WINNING record and I won’t get that if I let a rookie beat me on her second fight., I am sure you’ll get a win Nicola—but not this fight and not from me!”

Nicola makes no reply to these challenging words, but she returns the cold look Willa Holland gives her with chilly look of her own. No love will be lost in this fight!

On fight night, Willa has chosen a red leather bikini with seasonal green fur trim. Nicola has chosen white one piece with red candy-cane striping. Red gloves for Willa Holland. White gloves for Nicola Peltz. Chilly, but correct during ring instructions, fighters go to their corners both banging their gloves together, clearly eager to get this going.

R1: Nicola shows she been working on her foot movement as she closes on Willa and shows some tricky moves that allow her to punch Willa’s head back sharp blows. Willa looking a bit surprised, quickly goes over to defense and gets her jab firing. Nicola bobbing and weaving to evade Willa’s defense now strikes at Willa’s midsection. Willa hit hard to the ribs backs away trying to adjust her jab to punish the aggressive blonde. Nicola taking some defensive punching now, but she keeps on the attack. Steady back and forth to the bell. Nicola looking pleased as she emerges the winner of the first round. Willa frowning in dissatisfaction as she walks back to her stool.

R2: Willa challenging Nicola right from the start of this round just boring with a steady attack on the slender blonde’s body. Nicola gritting her teeth and battling the brunette for control of the round. Very fast-moving punch exchange with bodies and heads getting struck with rising frequency. They going at it toe to toe with grim determination on their sweating faces as they punch away much to the delight of the crowd. Slow circling movement at center ring, but then Willa able to come up out of fighting crouch and drive hard, lightning-fast uppercuts into Nicola’s chin. Nicola stumbling back in distress and Willa leaping forward to hook the blonde to the belly. Nicola doubling up but then pops up with an uppercut of her own to the brunette’s chin. Willa’s turn to stumble back, but she recovers quickly enough to blunt Nicola’s follow-up. Back to the toe to toe action to the bell, but Willa edges out a win on the cards.

R3: Nicola goes right for Willa after the bell rings. Willa gets her jaw banged hard by determined blonde rights and lefts, but the brunette strikes back to the belly and the toe to toe action seen in the previous round resumes. However the intensity level rapidly increases as the young fighters give it their all. Most of the punches are landing to the body. Nicola doing her best to roast Willa’s ribs. Willa seems to have found a target of her own with steady bombardment of the blonde’s tummy, though she puts some shots into Nicola’s breasts to give some unpleasant surprise. Nicola slowly driven back by Willa’s punching and she hunches up to protect her ravaged belly. This allows Willa to swat Nicola’s head from side to side and obliging Nicola to back away still further. Nicola rallies behind her jab late and does manage it make it a close round, but the stanza goes to Willa Holland.

R4: Nicola undaunted by previous round’s setback and goes right back at Willa Holland once more going after the brunette’s ribs. Willa starting to grimace as the blonde’s leather lit up her ribcage. She used her footwork and upper body movement to make body less of a target and used her jab to give Nicola stinging shots to the face. Nicola hunched up trying to avoid Willa’s defenses, but continuing to hammer her opponent’s body. Just steady action and Nicola’s punch rate and accuracy impressed the judges enough to give her the round.

R5: Willa responded to this challenge with a swift attack at the beginning of this round. She was fast across the ring and unloaded driving rights and lefts into Nicola’s face and breasts. Then as Nicola fell back in confusion, Willa went work hammering blonde belly which through the blonde into more confusion. Willa skillfully herded the floundering blonde back onto the ropes where she did her best to lean in and keep Nicola pinned against the strands while driving blows into her midsection. Nicola shuddered and writhed under these punches and finally began to clinch to oblige referee intervention. However Willa maintained the pressure and drove Nicola right back to the ropes. Nicola clinched for breaks and this went back and forth to the bell. Nicola looked very shaky as she went back to her corner as Willa took the round by a wide margin.

R6: Nicola makes a great effort to come out fighting, but she can’t seem to target a nimble-footed Willa, who moves around the blonde and strikes hard from unexpected directions. Nicola starts to look confused and her counters are missing. Willa carefully stalking her wounded prey. A couple of quick shots to the chin show Willa that Nicola is not faking as there is a wobble in her step. Willa flicks some quick, but deep hooks in Nicola’s belly and the blonde doubles up in distress, her face left unguarded. Willa then unleashes rising uppercuts into Nicola’s face splitting her lower lip and spraying blood from her nose as her head is knocked back. With lightning speed Willa slams uppercuts into Nicola’s chin and the blonde just crumbles, collapsing straight down at the brunette’s feet. Willa backs up to the neutral corner as Nicola pushes herself into a sitting position on one arm, but then can only hang her head as she unable to rise any further as the reaches “…TEN!”
The Winner: Willa Holland defeats Nicola Peltz KO6!

After: Willa in a big smile accepts the congratulations of stablemates Rachel McAdams and Laura Vandervoort. She even goes over and gives the dazed Nicola Peltz a comforting hug.

“Oh, I REALLY needed this win,” she admits with the relief strong in her voice. “It wasn’t easy. Nicola learning, but one of these days she;s going to a contender just like me. I know I haven’t seen the last of her around here. Who is next? I have no idea, but I am really looking forward to it, because I know I can win and it feels so good to win. That’s a feeling I want to keep!”

“It’s no fun to lose and I am getting entirely too much experience with being on the wrong side of a 10-count,” Nicola Peltz said with an understandable sigh. “I am not giving up. I know I have what it takes to win I just have to be able to do it better than I have so far. Willa is right—she hasn’t seen the last of me!”

Nice little battle between struggling young fighters. They definitely put their hearts into this fight, but Willa Holland seemed to have the better set of skills. Willa and Nicola are both hoping for a better 2016, but on the basis of this fight, it is the Foxfire boxer who has the edge.
