BEFORE: Elisabetta Gregoraci's impressive knockout debut against Berenice Marlohe earlier this week was marked by persistent rumours that the German showgirl Micaela Schaefer refused to fight the Italian which launched immediate attacks on social media accusing the 32 year old of being a coward. To make matters worse the Black Eagle Boxing owner/trainer Gina Wild revealed that Schaefer also backed out of a fight against Indira Weis on the stable's upcoming debut card and that slammed the last nail into her integrity's coffin. To salvage whatever's left of Micaela's pride she simply had to change her mind on the Gregoraci test and she was ultra quick to do that - under one condition. The Italian model was forced to make the trip to the Max Schmeling Halle in Berlin but given her ruthless pasting of Marlohe just four days ago there's no wonder she accepted the German's terms and now openly vows to rearrange her face to make her pay for ignoring the debut call up.
Georgie Thompson covers the BBU International bouts as usual and she warns the viewers that Schaefer's last fight saw her beat Holly Peers up, the very same Peers who caused one of the biggest upsets of 2015 when she stopped Katie Price's jugs on the Boxing Day PPV. However that was over six months ago and Gregoraci's debut indicates she will take no prisoners during her BBU tenure which makes her a slight betting favorite despite her opponent's experience and the hostile atmosphere inside the Max Schmeling Halle.
Elisabetta Gregoraci wears a silver bandeau bikini and black gloves. Long black hair in loose waves. Micaela Schaefer wears a white bikini set with golden & red trim and golden gloves. Raven-black hair pulled back in a tight ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
The Italian stunned the experts with some very aggressive punching on her debut and she quickly wants to restore that image in Berlin as she tackles the German upstairs and snaps her head back repeatedly in the opening minute which nonetherless earns her a mild support. The crowd is blood thirsty by the looks of things but Micaela can only moan in discomfort when Elisabetta simply pulverizes her high guard and stacks her up with a flurry of punches that soon begin to leave their toll on the younger brunette's face. However Schaefer's footwork is too putrid to enable her to escape the Italian drill and she can only sag on the ropes with her eyes wide open in the closing seconds as Gregoraci secures a bell to bell rout.
Round 2:
More aggression from the older brunette who buries the cumbersome opponent under another high jabbing assault and smacks her lips into a swollen mess come the minute mark. Micaela sends single punches over the top in a weak response but somehow remains upright despite Elisabetta tormenting her without any respite whatsoever. The ammount of strikes crashing into the German's face even makes Georgie Thompson cringe and it's obvious Schaefer doesn't like that one bit as she half-turns to the side allowing Gregoraci to nail her on the ear a couple of times. This finally makes the younger woman buckle and Micaela stumbles back to the ropes staring at the model in disbelief until she gets whacked across the mouth with a cross hooking route and leans over the ropes paving the way for an Italian uppercut that pierces the solar plexus AND SENDS SCHAEFER DOWN ON HER KNEES... Ugh! That was simply one punch too many from the Italian dominator and Micaela wisely takes her time before getting up at eight. Elisabetta grins down her face and wants to resume the punishment as quickly as possible but the clock expires just as the ref was ready to give the command and even the Berlin audience doesn't realize where all that time went.
Round 3:
Schaefer was more or less saved by the bell since Gregoraci was ready to nuke her into oblivion according to Georgie Thompson and it's no wonder the lanky German prefers to dance around her rival in mid distance to bide some time. The Italian grins down on her regardless but holds back the charge and teases her into any kind of attack. Micaela finds some courage in her and hassles forward with a jabbing drill but only grazes the guard and gets whooped over the top with another brutally accurate hook before Gregoraci sinks her with a jug clipping series. Schaefer quickly veers onto the ropes and caves in behind a tight earmuff and one has the feeling that Elisabetta keeps holding back her artillery as she smacks ruthless harpoons around the elbows to punish the showgirl's midsection but doesn't neccessarily seek the ultimate solution which seems all but ineviteable to some experts. The Berlin crowd keeps the mild Italian support but Micaela just spits out her mouthguard in frustration and stares down at the canvas while slowly walking back to her stool.
Round 4:
Elisabetta's showboating now picking the younger brunette off and just stacking her up in the center of the ring after the initial drive found the jugs again and made Schaefer wince a lot. Georgie Thompson thinks the Italian is so confident of victory following that knockdown that she toys around with a vastly inferior opponent but the single hand swings from Micaela actually begin to find some juice in the second minute and when she slams a left hook on the jaw to open Gregoraci's eyes really wide the half-hearted approach changes in a hurry and results in a classic Mediterranean rage. Schaefer's left brow ridge gets hammered into a swollen reality when Elisabetta pierces the high guard with a repeated assault and pounds the otherwise struggling brunette to the turnbuckle. A clinching effort is halted when Gregoraci drills some toned German ribcage and another late flurry on the chest slumps Micaela forward to the point she can only soak up a brutal pounding to the liver area that leaves her yelping in disarray at the bell.
Round 5:
No holding back from the Italian anymore who loops a hooking charge and smacks the swollen left brow ridge into more misery thumping a visibly struggling German back to the ropes again. Micaela can barely land a punch now and settles into a desperate defence but gets pummelled back to the corner quickly and endures a ruthless ribcage shellacking with Elisabetta seemingly very keen to chop her in half. The Berlin crowd drops any sort of Italian support as they realize their girl is under heavy onslaught but there's nothing to stop the model's attack anymore and Gregoraci just sinks the fellow brunette on jelly knees with a brutal destruction to the body that also lowers the guard and allows her to blast a quick one-two on the exposed chin... AND SCHAEFER CRASHES TO HER KNEES for the second time tonight spitting out her mouthpiece again... Gregoraci thinks it's all over now but the count is slow and the bruised German showgirl somehow beats it at eight before getting more time to recover as the ref goes all the way back to the opposite corner for a new mouthguard. And the clock keeps on ticking... even the fastest Italian charge can't complete the job in time and Elisabetta is livid with the officials when she hears the bell half way through her pursuit of one spooked German brunette. The whitewash is still on but even Georgie Thompson laughs off the promotor's efforts to save Micaela from beatdown of the season misery.
Round 6:
No place to hide in the ring for the buxom German and no mercy shown from the Italian model who thwarts her footwork and escape route inside the opening five seconds of the sixth before blasting her on the left temple with a hooking swing that shuts Micaela's eyes and sends her spinning back to the ropes. The 32 year old clearly hasn't recovered from the pasting she took in the previous round and just caves in behind another earmuff as Elisabetta thumps her up the middle and makes a delightful connection with the jugs making her foe scream out in pain. The German guard eventually crumbles just before the minute mark and allows Gregoraci to pull the plug on Schaefer with a looping one-two combo, the second punch nails her on the wounded brow ridge and shuts the eye down completely just as the battered girl slides on her backside in the corner... Micaela's eyes bawl out to the orbit and she's counted out until the bitter end here. KO6 Elisabetta Gregoraci in another total destruction mode!!!
AFTER: Ugh! That was wild and brutal from the Italian model and the Berlin crowd hits the hostile button again, a little too late to make any impact on the outcome of this fight anymore. Micaela Schaefer was well and truly pounded out of her senses in the end and well, her decision to ignore the inital call doesn't look quite bad now but Georgie Thompson thinks that Elisabetta Gregoraci made it a little personal too and was happy to just destroy the German showgirl after dropping the careless attitude in rounds number three and four. Despite looking like a Top 5 puncher in the division, she needs to be reminded that the sheer strenght alone can be tamed by a superior tactical approach and there are several girls around that can upstage her prospects through experience and coaching guidance too. But for now the 35 year old model from Calabria has racked up two KO6 victories in pretty impressive fashion and even if neither Berenice Marlohe nor Micaela Schaefer can rise above a certain level that still puts most of the lightweights on notice. You simply can't ignore that sort of bulldozing power and apparently Elisabetta eyes another previously rumoured fight - vs compatriot Miriam Leone - after all. The former Miss Italy is reported to be on her way to recover from the pounding she took from Jessica Michibata and Georgie Thompson has booked a trip back to Calabria next month already.
