MEGAN BOONE VS PRIYANKA CHOPRA

Priyanka: 33 YO, 5’ 6 ½ (1.69 m), 0-1-0, HISC.

Before: “I just feel I have been overlooked,” Megan Boone tells the press. “I mean, it’s taken me three seasons of ‘The Blacklist’ to finally get this fight. Of course SOME people find it a whole lot easier. (She looks over at Priyanka, who just smiles and nods). However now I do have that first fight and I mean to take advantage of the opportunity what people have been missing when it comes to my fighting abilities. I DO have fighting abilities and I am very eager to show them off. Bring this fight on!”

Priyanka smiling and nodding on the way to the podium (she still has that beauty queen walk that made her Miss India and eventually Miss World 2000): “Here I am again. I wish I could say I was savoring my first win, but unfortunately my debut fight with Margot Robbie did not go as I had hoped. My consider myself very fortunate that Hawkeye International has signed me to their organization. I already feel their training staff is improving my prospects in this new league. I do have a proud record back in India, but I know I am starting fresh here and it crucial that I start to win. I believe this is a chance I cannot allow to pass me by.” (She and Megan exchange determined looks)

Come night of the fight, Priyanka has chosen a bright fuschia (purplish) one piece similar to one she wore in her victorious Miss World campaign. Megan Boone has selected a gold one piece. Dark purple gloves and boots for Priyanka, hair twisted tied with fuscia bow. Black boots and gloves (gold laces) for Megan, she wears her bobbed brunette hair loose. Very professional ring instructions. It seems clear both fighters more interested in the fight and want to get it going. They do not have long to wait as the bell brings them out of their respective corners.

R1: Megan Boone quickest out of her corner and punches right at Priyanka Chopra’s head, sending the dark-haired beauty’s head a-bobbing early. Priyanka pulling back fast and getting her gloves up, jabbing quickly as Megan comes back at her again. Megan gets her head knocked back as Priyanka shows effective jabbing skills. Megan circles trying to pull Priyanka off balance as she fires in some shots to the body that seem to shake the “Quantico” star’s concentration. This brings Megan’s punches headed back at Priyanka’s head. Priyanka takes couple of knee-rattling shots and then backs out of there for a breather. Megan hangs in close, but Priyanka jabs keep the American ducking. Megan still striking back, aiming more at the body late and it’s enough to get her the round close.

R2: Megan drives her punches hard and fast into Priyanka’s midsection, Priyanka not liking those leather impacts in her stomach and ribs, trying to turn the corner on Megan, but not succeeding. Megan patient, slowly working Priyanka back towards the ropes, blocking attempts to escape, and ready to unleash once she has her quarry pinned. Priyanka finally starts mixing in clinches along with her defensive jab and this does seem to disrupt Megan’s tactics. Megan keeps trying to make it work, though and she is landing a good share of her punches to Priyanka’s body all the way to the bell. Solid points win for Megan Boone.

R3: Priyanka trying to be more aggressive this round, hammering early at Megan’s head and then her body when the head shots missed or are blunted. Megan again showing patience as she lets Priyanka’s offensive run its course and then she hops forward with a strong counterattack of her own, This time Priyanka’s cheekbones get slapped hard by Megan’s rights and lefts and her head is spun first one way and then another. Strong legs keep Priyanka on her feet and help her to back away as she throws up a protective jab, Megan trying to work around the jab and racks up a lot of points striking at Priyanka’s ribs under her upraised arms. Priyanka struggles on to the bell, but it’s no surprised that Megan takes this one wide.

R4: Priyanka and trainer have an urgent conversation during break. No wonder, she’s been skunked in the first three rounds and she is starting to look confused. Hard to tell what trainer tells her, but it must have involved taking the momentum away from the American, because that is just what happens when the bell rings. Priyanka scooting out to mid ring and throws a rapid-fire series of hooks as hard as she can into Megan Boone’s midsection. Megan gasps in shock and doubles over as she stumbles backwards. Priyanka clearly encouraged starts firing rising leather into Megan’s face. Megan’s still in retreat but now she’s got a bloodied nose and swelling around both eyes! Crowd seems as surprised as Megan Boone at this sudden reversal of fight fortune. Priyanka drives Megan right back to the ropes and sends a flurry of punches to Megan’s midsection that seems to wedge her doubled up body between the strands. Megan flailing away, trying to push Priyanka back, but not succeeding. Finally, Megan wraps her arms around Priyanka and just bear hugs her back to mid-ring until the referee finally pries her off the astonished Priyanka. Not much time left in the round so Megan just goes face-in-gloves and gives up her body to Priyanka’s punching just to reach the bell. Megan suddenly looking wrecked as she totters back to her corner. Priyanka looking after her angrily. It appears she didn’t much care for that bear hug.

R5: Priyanka roaring off her stool this round. Megan clearly has her opponent mad now. Usually an angry opponent is a careless opponent, but Megan Boone seems unable to take advantage of this. Instead, the American has all she can do to try to hold Priyanka off as she is just bombarding Megan with punches from any and all directions as she circles around her. Megan taking a lot of hits and does heart in not just giving up to the leather storm. Priyanka finally seems to slow down and Megan can bring her jab on line to blunt further damage to the bell. However Megan is looking even more wrecked at the end of this round. She’s got both eyes swelling now, her nose bleeding again and a hairline cut sending blood trickling down the side of her cheek. Priyanka looks as vengeful as ever going back to her stool, She’s plainly not satisfied.

R6: Megan wary off her stool, but she’s soon back in the Priyanka Chopra Buzzsaw. Priyanka more methodical this time, She works hard to the body putting more agonizing, grinding shits into Megan’s badly bruised abdomen sending shivers down Megan’s legs as they struggle to keep her standing. Priyanka then works on breaking down Megan’s protective defenses and forcing her punches between Megan’s gloves. It takes her a while but suddenly Megan gets smashed hard to the face, right between the eyes and that nose takes another shot that just makes Megan’s whole body tremble as white-hit pain rips through her. Seconds later the lights go out as Priyanka treats Megan’s chin like a speed bag for lightning lefts and rights. Megan’s knees buckle and she just collapses into Priyanka’s arms. Priyanka hastily jumps back as Megan falls forward landing with a sweat and blood sodden PLOP! at Priyanka’s toes. Megan just lying there, arms down at her sides, looking up at Priyanka with blank eyes. Referee doesn’t even bother to count raising Priyanka’s arms in victory as the Indian boxer can now savor her first victory. HISC suits at ringside smiling with satisfaction too, confident now they signed just the right actress for their organization.
THE WINNER: PRIYANKA CHOPRA TKO6

After: “That bear hug just enraged me,” Priyanka admits later, “that has no place in a boxing match. Now that I’ve had the chance to calm down, I realize she was probably just panicking when I had her trapped, but it was still uncalled for. She had given me a great of trouble earlier, but once I got her back in the belly—well, she wasn’t the same after that, was she? Now I can look forward to future fights. I don’t know who they will be with, but I know I can win now and I want to continue winning!”

The badly beaten Megan Boone doesn’t speak to reporters until the next day: “I was beating her—and then I wasn’t. It all seemed to change so suddenly. The bear hug? I don’t actually remember doing it. I suppose I was trying to clinch and I got carried away. Who knew that would set her off like that? I have known fighters who got mad, but Priyanka’s one of the few who can fight better when she’s mad. I would advise future opponents to consider that. Me?” Of course I’m not giving up, Painful as they was, I think I showed I have the skills to win, I just need more ring experience. I hope I’ll get it in the year ahead.”

Very interesting fight as it seemed to be all Megan Boone early, but then Priyanka Chopra turned it all around. Not sure if fighting angry is real secret of Priyanka’s success, but it sure didn’t hurt her in this bout. Had to be a crushing loss for Megan Boone, she show real boxing skills in those early rounds, but once she got hurt in the 4th it was pretty much downhill from there. Now the question for Ms. Boone is if and when she’ll get the chance to recover from this setback. Meanwhile, Priyanka suddenly looking like a hot new edition to the “cracker cruncher” stable and there is much anticipation about her next bout.
