Nina Agdal versus Barbara Palvin
(Words: ABC / Results: Lookout!)

Pre-fight:
If you believe the hype to come out of Alpha Boxing Club over Christmas, then you will surely be watching this one with great anticipation to see young Barbara Palvin make her FCBA debut against the gorgeous Nina Agdal. According to her stablemates, the 22-year old model has all the attributes needed to succeed in the ring, particularly the attitude.

Nina Agdal makes her second FCBA appearance, after showing some serious potential in a TKO9 loss to Brooklyn Decker on debut in July 2015. Barbara is fresh and making her debut tonight, which is an exciting prospect for ABC, but it does mean that until she gets in there with Nina, not a soul in this place has any idea what she is capable of. This bout presents a fantastic chance for Nina to prove she has what it takes, and for Barbara to show what potential the young rookie has.

As if the bout wasn’t an exciting prospect already, things are bound to get even more enticing due to the word on the street that the winner tonight may be facing off against another talented model in the Ice Hotel eliminator for the chance to then meet Gisele Bundchen in a further clash at the Ice Hotel. And what an exciting prospect that is for each of these talented young women.

Barbara typically candid before the bout, but no doubt determined. “Nina’s gorgeous, fit, and packed with potential if you saw her debut bout. I watched it, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. But I’ve been training hard and I have a good team behind me and I know I’m ready. The FCBA will know my name after tonight.”

Nina no less confident, but refusing to take her rookie opponent lightly. “Barbie DOES have a good team behind her, there’s no doubt. But once she’s in that ring, it’s just me and her, and no-one will be able to stop me from turning her lights out. I doubt she even realizes how little she knows about boxing at this point. She’ll know soon. This is not my first rodeo. It IS hers.”

Round 1:
Nina comes out quickly, wanting to stuff the young prospect back into the corner and demolish her spirit and self-belief early. She has a good crack at it, slamming hooks to ribs that Nina partially manages to cover, though a few heavy shots do thud through, obviously paining the rookie. Barbara shows a hardy can-do attitude though, at least early, and thumps back, the pair now trading blows to ribs and midriff, wanting to show the other immediately what she’s made of. They both seem to be made of pretty stern stuff, and continue battering away at each other until Nina changes it up with a swift uppercut, splitting Barbie’s lovely jugs and popping her right under the chin. Barbara is staggered back a few steps and Nina jumps on the offensive, still wanting to break her early. It’s a nice tactic, but Barbara finds the guard and weathers the storm, though those abs and sides look very red and sore as the bell signals time for each to take a well-earned breather.

Round 2:
Barbara looks more comfortable than one may expect on debut, but she clearly has confidence despite Nina holding the cards at the moment. Barbie comes out in the second chasing chin and Nina is forced to guard tightly, but does so very well and to great effect. Barbara looks hungry, mixes in some midriff shots that slow Nina and open up a couple of opportunities to take temple and that’s some slick work from Palvin. Nina kept humble, but returns with crisp jabs that Barbara mostly blocks bar the one that smarts her left cheek. And Barbie is right back in there with a hook to the abs and a lovely cross that snaps through Nina’s jaw, visibly staggering her. Nina a little slower to her corner at the end of this one, and Barbara seems to have come to box!

Round 3:
Nina obviously taking the second as a warning and is not prepared to allow Barbara the upper hand, using her jabs to keep the rookie at bay before sneaking inside with a wicked hook that doubles the beautiful brunette over at the waistline. That’s a terrible position for Barbara to be in and Nina bounces her head side to side with tasty crosses before loading up with a wild uppercut that slams through the centre of Barbara’s pretty features, sending her straight back up to vertical. Palvin wobbling backwards on shaky legs after that onslaught and she clearly still has a lot to learn from this debut. Nina wades in, as if thinking she could finish this already and winds up for a devastating overhand that cracks against Barbara’s temple. Palvin is stumbling into the ropes, almost slipping off those lovely stems, eyes flickering as Nina just keeps coming, now shovelling leather into young midriff, reddening the tight flesh and causing Barbara some serious issues. Palvin defiantly trying to jab back to slow the beating, but she has taken some serious licking this round and finally the bell gives her a much needed break, providing she can actually find her seat in the corner.

Round 4:
Nina grinning, Barbara just trying to focus on standing straight as she leaves her corner still a little wobbly. The guard is up, protecting keenly, and Nina’s response is a heavy underhand to the belly that freezes the pretty brunette and has her wincing sadly. Nina advancing, but Barbara clearly knows resigning to defence would only prolong the inevitable, and she bravely throws straights towards her opponent, the first of which takes Nina by surprise and lands flush, leaving her with a fresh bruise just under her left eye. But Nina finds the guard shortly thereafter and even responds again with another underhook to belly, causing Barbara further grief and breathing issues. Nina with a wild uppercut, that Barbara (and her fans), will be thankful that she gets the guard working just in time to block. Nina looking a little frustrated, expecting to find a finish to the overwhelmed beauty. But the follow-up overhand is deflected as well, and even the solid right hook towards ribs. Barbara showing sharp reflexes on defence when push comes to shove, and Nina reverts to jabs at face, which Barbie also manages to take most of, just a couple glancing off the side of her head. Barbie looks like she is desperately turtling, but in reality she is keeping a sharp eye, reacting keenly, and just running the clock in this round with some solid defence. The bell comes and Nina storms frustrated to her corner, while Barbara slowly puffs her way to hers, looking contemplative, but rather calm.

Round 5:
The quick break obviously not long enough for Nina to settle, and she rushes into the fifth, throwing haymakers at her opponent, needing something big for her efforts. She doesn’t get it this round, as Barbara ducks a telegraphed overhand and replies with a beautiful counter, slamming leather hard against right ribs, bringing a loud cry from Nina. Agdal shuffling backwards and now it is Barbie who pushes the advantage, and surprises Nina early with a straight right that flattens beautiful pert breast, causing clear problems for Nina and freezing her in spot for Barbara to really open up. Palvin peppers her gorgeous opponent’s face with left cross, right cross combos for days until Nina is staggering drunkenly with a cut cheek and swollen eye. The bell saves her eventually, but Nina looking a right mess by the end of the fifth, her pretty features pulped up miserably and the fans are having very mixed reactions as Barbara seems to have taken a startling upper hand.

Round 6:
Nina seems pissed off after the previous round and comes out clearly wanting revenge, her jab rising seemingly as a ploy that lifts Barbara’s guard and then it is all impressive jug taking a right mugging. Palvin’s beautiful features contorting in pained worry as her lovely breasts are slammed with left, right, left, right rising hooks, clubbing the jugs about her chest and just about launching them out of her thin top. Barbara desperately forcing her arms in front of her chest to stop the onslaught and Nina slips the leather up high, connecting flush in the centre of the pretty model’s face. Barbara stumbles back, gloves up to face with a shriek of woe, and the whole crowd is in silence, waiting for a damage report. Nina wades in to finish, and Barbie’s hands suddenly fly away from her face, replying with a masterful one-two cross combo that has Nina seeing stars! The crowd erupting upon the return from Palvin, and now Nina is staggering for space. Both beauties seem to need a moment to refocus, and are granted such, right before they come clashing together at centre-ring again. Barbara’s uppercut is blocked, then Nina’s overhand is ducked. Barbie giving a straight to Nina’s tummy, and Nina responds with a heavy left hook that clubs across Barbara’s pretty cheek, bruising her and sending her flailing sideways. Nina on the chase, but the bell beats her to it, and Barbara surely thankful she escaped what was about to come.

Round 7:
This time it’s Barbara upset at her treatment in the previous round, and she meets Nina head on at centre-ring, the two exchanging furious blows to ribs before Barbara slams an uppercut to lovely underboob and Nina’s left breast is sent flying, a pained look crossing her face. Nina going to cover and Barbara sends jackhammer blows with her right into Nina’s gorgeous features, snapping her head back and forth like a bop’em bag. Nina dazed now as Barbie beats bruised face at will before changing it up with some deep underhooks to belly, doubling the wobbly model over forwards. Nina clinching to hold off an onslaught, but Barbara just slams leather into either side of her opponent, bringing groans of despair from Nina before the bell stops the beating, giving Barbara some serious confidence as we prepare for the eighth round of this high-energy rookie bout.

Round 8:
Nina looks dazed to start the eighth, and visibly tired now. A valiant attempt at stuffing leather into Barbara’s guts winds up blocked and the reply is a hard one for Nina to take, Barbie’s right glove flying up under her chin in classic uppercut fashion. Nina is staggered back on her feet, swaying, and then she drops. Nina has hit the deck! Barbie watching impatiently as Nina tries to pull herself up. Eyes glazed over, but somehow she finds her feet, and after a few wobbly steps she manages to use the ropes to steady herself, and the ref calls them together again. Barbie clearly in a better state of mind, and she bats away another weak attempt of defiance from Nina, following with a left cross to her cheek and then a right cross to her jaw, sending Nina sprawling against the ropes. Nina is in bad condition, and Barbara starts slamming fists into firm young bosom, mashing jug until the ref decides she has really had enough and it is clear that Nina has no more to give. Barbara needing to be forced away from her prey and this is declared a victory for the debutante. Barbara Palvin wins, TKO8!

Post-fight:
What an exciting show from two packed-with-potential young rookies, but a huge win for debuting Barbara Palvin, who has had the perfect start to her FCBA career, and in the process booking a fight in the Ice Hotel eliminator, should you believe recent rumours.

“I did it!” Barbara squealing in excitement in the post-fight interview. “I knew Nina would be tough, and she was, but I’m so happy to win in my first bout. This is huge for me. I’m really, very excited. A big thanks to my team, their support was so important, especially when Nina had me bouncing off the ropes. I feel like I learned a lot, just from that one fight with her. I’m very excited to think what I might be able to learn throughout my first year. Bring it on!”

Nina clearly disappointed, but looking on the bright side. “I should have had her. She’s got some fight, that’s for sure. I think she might do some good things and show the world us models aren’t cream puffs in the slightest. But I’m pissed I let her go. I should have had her. I DID have her. But hey, I guess I’m still learning too. I’ll be back, and I’ll win my next one. I know I can.”
