BEFORE: Nicola Roberts wants to quickly forget about the pasting she took from Kaya Scodelario last month and channels the revenge mission personified by Tulisa Contostavlos. The Frankie Foxes' dark haired beauty knocked Nicola out on her debut back in July 2011 but has struggled to make a solid impact on the BBU bantamweight over the past two years allegedly being more involved in Frankie Cocozza's partying crew than in a boxing training outright. But she watched Roberts' epic demise against Scodelario in details and mocks the redhead's decision to find solace in a revenge effort. Heck, even the BBU TV crew thinks the former Girls Aloud singer is very ill-advised to fancy her chances against the alleged kryptonite opponent allthough the brunette hasn't won a bout for THREE years!
Nicola Roberts wears a silver bikini top, black hotpants and yellow gloves. Long curly red hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Tulisa Contostavlos wears a light blue bikini set and black gloves. Long black hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1:
Nicola makes an early jump on her opponent and begins to pick off the brunette with confident strikes up the middle which prevents the fellow singer from finding her stride in the opening round and she develops a duck & weave survival tactics which only fuels the redhead into more attacks. Only when Roberts crashes into the brunette's chin with a nasty one-two uppercut combo, Tulisa steps up with her response and swings menacingly around the temples however she lacks precision and half-spins to the side right at the bell as Nicola cracks a big hook on her jaw to underline her dominance.
Round 2:
More pouncing success for Nicola who beats her rival for the initial overhand approach and stacks up a jabbing series on Tulisa's cheeks to root the brunette to the spot in the center of the ring before belting her against the tummy for a good measure. Denise van Outen thinks that the Foxes returnee is some way off the neccessary ring fitness on her comeback and Roberts takes full advantage of that by pounding her towards the ropes as the round goes on and sets up a piercing drive over the top that shatters the suspiciously vulnerable guard and leaves Contostavlos wincing in pain while soaking up a late flurry of facial jabs.
Round 3:
Tulisa looks annoyed during the interval but she's only got herself to blame for the sluggish start to this bout; she bides some time early in the third by clinching the redhead but eventually gets bumped off on her heels and eats a zipping cross hook on the mouth that staggers her in the center of the ring and enables Roberts to whip her on the eyes with a nasty hooking combo... Tulisa squeals in pain and barely manintains her balance but that's a temporary success since her arms drop too low and Nicola homes in with a brutal uppercut on the jaw THAT SHUTS THE BRUNETTE'S EYES AND SENDS HER CRASHING DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE moments later... This is just too easy for the redhead who exposes all the rust in her opponent's attire and the revenge for the original 2011 loss is very much on! Contostavlos beats the count at seven but looks dizzy in the eyes already and can only brace herself for more facial misery as Nicola cracks a jabbing series upstairs and pounds the lacklustre singer butt-in-ropes where she has to be hauled off by the ref at the bell with Tulisa looking all lost at sea.
Round 4:
Roberts gallops into more jabbing success and while Tulisa swings a desperate hook on the eye, that's not nearly good enough to stop the old fashioned Girls Aloud rout... Nicola keeps head hunting her struggling foe who remains stuck on her feet and can barely move to avoid the strikes crashing into her face... she caves in behind a tight earmuff but Nicola whacks her onto the body regardless and sinks on jelly knees amid more painful scowls... Tulisa goes for another desperate hooking swing but bounces off the redhead's shoulder and eats an uppercut on the jaw that sends her spinning into the ropes where Roberts traps her with more vicious jabbing and keeps pounding away to the midsection until the clock expires and leaves Tulisa bending against the ropes and hugging her bruised tummy. What a disaster for the Foxes' brunette!
Round 5:
Nicola hasn't enjoyed this much success for a while and she bursts into the brunette's jaw seconds into the fifth whipping Contostavlos on her heels on the spot before crashing her lips into a swollen mess with a cross hooking follow up. Tulisa bends forward and tries to wrap herself around the redhead's waist but gets drilled on the navel and slumps into a screaming demise... she lifts her head one last time to find Nicola hammering her jaw with a heavy right uppercut which pulls the plug on the dark-haired struggler... DOWN GOES TULISA ON HER BACK and the Tokyo crowd goes wild as that was a textbook knockdown from Roberts! Tulisa refuses to give up the ghost though, she makes a slow recovery to her feet at the eight count but immediately signals there's something wrong with her jaw and Denise van Outen thinks that flurry of Roberts' punches might have well dislocated it sometime during the fight or even this round... whatever the truth is, ref waves the fight on the spot as Tulisa's in no shape to continue with an apparent nasty injury... TKO5 Nicola Roberts!!!
AFTER: "That last punch did all the damage, Denise!", Tom Hilton believes he found the moment when it all went wrong for Contostavlos who was outclassed up to that point but nonetherless battled back from a couple of knockdowns and always had a chance to smack the redhead with a classic haymaker come-from-behind finish. Nicola's hardly coming in as favorite to any of her fights - perhaps the two bouts against the Faiers sisters was the last time that ever happened - and Tom admits his predictions were based on a truly dismal punching resistance the otherwise cute singer developed over the years. But Tulisa looked like spending too much time on Frankie Cocozza's lap than in the boxing gym recently and if she's ever going back to that 2011-2012 high-praise period, she needs to focus on her priorities. Because drugs and sex romps ain't gonna cut it for her in BBU! That dislocated jaw might just be the wake-up call she needed...
