BBU "X FACTOR" SESSIONS FROM EAST LONDON

BEFORE: Both these girls emerged on the music scene through the X Factor talent show but their boxing skills have been hard to find thus far. While Rebecca Ferguson succumbed to the high-flying Fleur East and Girls Aloud veteran Kimberley Walsh, Diana Vickers has racked up no less than nine defeats in a row to date and according to Charlie Webster, she would be better of fighting flyweights or simply calling her BBU 'career' a day.
Zero wins and eleven defeats in total - that's as bad as it gets marketing-wise but the East London crowd doesn't seem to care much about it. After all, the opportunity to secure that elusive maiden victory can make this fight a real classic! Well, sort of...
Rebecca Ferguson wears a black basque top with silver trim, yellow panties and yellow gloves. Long black hair loose & straight. Diana Vickers wears a navy blue basque top, white hotpants and white gloves. Blonde hair long & straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1:
Diana knows it's "now or never" territory and she blasts a left cross to immediately put Rebecca under some pressure but bounces off the high guard in a slow and predictable follow up which enables the fellow singer to counter her over the top and slam a nifty one-two on the nose. Blonde wobbles back and shows more vulnerable defence when Ferguson swings another hook and catches her on the temple. There's no quick reply for this punch and Vickers bellows out into circling escape after literally soaking up that sole punch which only fuels Ferguson's pursuit thereafter but the blonde remains fairly agile on her feet and avoids more trouble in the closing seconds; she does look a bit spooked though according to Charlie in the booth and that's always a bad sign so early into a fight.
Round 2:
More cross hooking approach from both girls but you can tell these two are ranked outsiders who give the 'X Factor' scouting proccess a bad name. No real power on display as too many strikes bounce off the leather instead of slicing through to cause any serious trouble for each of these mediocre vixens. Well, Diana's not even around the mediocre mark but at least she refuses to yield the real estate here - that has a lot to do with Rebecca's dismal execution and quite frankly it's more like a sparring session come the final minute which leads to some early jeers from the East London audience.
Round 3:
Finally a big punch from Ferguson triggers some life into this below-par affair but Diana clinches the brunette immediately after getting hit - instead of perhaps lashing out in true ruthless fashion. Not gonna happen when you're 0-9 though but the blonde's waiting game is punished regardless as Rebecca shoves her into the ropes where she drills the midsection to make Vickers wince in pain and even attempt some striking break away! However she sinks on her knees when Ferguson slams a left cross on the nose and adds an uppercut to the jaw right at the bell. That's more than enough to dump Diana into an aching struggle and the blonde looks truly out of her league in BBU competition even against someone so inept as Ferguson.
Round 4:
Perhaps Rebecca realizes she's won little praise from the experts and charges at the retreating blonde who's set to look for the exit door as she just can't find her stance here tonight and gets punished with a wicked left/right cross approach that nails her on the nose and drops her guard on the spot... Ferguson adds another hook on the temple and has Vickers slumping against her waist but she still finds one extra hook on the navel THAT SENDS DIANA ON HER KNEES and that's as easy as it gets in the BBU to score a knockdown... Vickers battles some tears but bravely escapes the looming disaster at six... she nods to herself like she wants to say "I can do this!" but Ferguson blows by her high guard and tears a patch under the left eye which just removes all the aggression from the embattled 24 year-old from Blackburn and has Rebecca pounding away in fury against the stomach at the bell - Vickers just can't do anything about it and is basically saved by the bell as the ref was looking at her with stoppage ideas all over his mind.
Round 5:
Diana somehow doesn't quit on her stool but that gash under the left eye doesn't help her confidence at all and Rebecca just moves in to destroy her, she splits the gloves with the initial approach and when the blonde seeks a right-on-right break through - she gets ROCKED by a vicious strike on the nose and spins to the left with eyes closed and a loud shriek to boot... AND FERGUSON HAMMERS IN THE LEFT CROSS on the mouth that sends the cumbersome blonde CRASHING DOWN ON HER BACK moments later... and that's all she wrote, folks! Diana bursts into tearful spasms and covers her face in shame as she just can't shake it off anymore... KO5 Rebecca Ferguson!!!
AFTER: Rebecca Ferguson scores that maiden BBU victory here in East London tonight but Charlie Webster thinks that most of the flyweights would tear Diana Vickers to pieces and well, Tom Hilton & Real View might just focus on sending another girl into free agency or even full-time retirement. Because there's no way even Claire Cooper or Zoe Salmon are THIS hittable & clueless when it comes to boxing performance.
It makes no difference to Ferguson who is quick to explain she's NOT 'the' Rebecca Louisa Ferguson who recently made her FCBA debut: "Well, my twitter went nuts the other day and everyone was keen to know how was the America like and all - and I said to myself - what gives? Turns out there's another Rebecca Ferguson - all the way from Sweden of all places - who happens to make some noise too! Forget the Windsor link! I'm the REAL Rebecca Ferguson and X Factor is THE show! Just ask Cheryl Cole how much she earns for showing her ass around the jury set! But Vickers? She got smoked... business as usual... It would be stupid of me to miss out on the biggest punchbag in the whole division and well, nobody can call me winless from now on! Full steam ahead! When Jesy Nelson is done with Louisa Allen, I want a shot at that cow next!
Final result: Rebecca Ferguson def. Diana Vickers KO5.
