Nina Dobrev versus Kaya Scoledario
(Words: Girls Friday / Results: Lookout!)

Intro:
Who would have thought these two would have fought at the start of the year?

Kaya was relatively an unknown in America and her friendship with Nina would have made you thought that it no reality this could happen. Then Kaya gets some major film deals, announces she wants to come to America then Nina says she'll be her first opponent stateside.

So now at the press conference; the women walk onto the stage hand in hand to show the stunned media they're still friends while their managers look bemused at the sight.

Separating; Nina goes to the podium first while Kaya sits with a smile as her friend speaks. "People know that Kaya is my bestie and this is about giving her a test to show if she's ready to be here." Taking a sip of water she continues "I know the bytches around here, hell I've beaten them and I want to make Kaya ready for them but don't expect a friendly sparring session, babe you're getting the full package"

Kaya is up next as Nina sits down and smiles at her friend, "Babe deep down I have to admit I was happy when you stepped up to challenge me!" Turning to the crowd and pointing at Nina "She is a truly amazing woman and I'm honoured that she see's me as someone to fight. But.." taking a sip of water herself "this will be a war, we will leave everything in that ring and that's how it has to be."

Both are ushered together for a photo op, their eye's seem to burn into the others soul as the smiles don't hide the competitiveness they have inside.

In the ring, Kaya in the red corner wearing a tight satin white sports bra, shorts and white shoes with the famous white gloves that Kaya said she'd wear to the fight. Nina in the blue corner is wearing a light blue satin bra, shorts and shoes with her own white gloves. Rumour is they went shopping together to buy said outfits; now their gumshields are in and they touch gloves while smiling.

Fight is scheduled for ten rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
If Nina was expecting a slow start to the bout with the friends feeling the other out then she's seriously wrong as Kaya charges up the centre with her quick jab knocking Dobrev backwards. The first minute is Nina trying to settle into her own rhythm but getting caught with several combos that force her to move around the outside of the ring. By the half way point Nina has her bearings and starts to get her jab working to good effect as the two start to trade not so friendly leather to faces. By the end of the round it's starting to get into a slugfest and at the bell it's shocking that they separate smiling looking roughed up already.

Between rounds:
Kaya Scodelario has Lauren Berlingeri in her corner since Taryn Terrell is fighting on the same card. "Good job honey, keep showing her you mean business, this is your moment to shine, so keep the pace up and look for the knock out later" says Lauren as she sponges the reddened face of Kaya. Nina's trainer as always is Julie Benz, she wipes Nina's head with a sponge as she tries to fire her fighter up. “Where's the real Dobrev! Come on! Act professional and do as you said, give her your all, smack her around with your power." Nina nods as both women stand for the bell a hint of a glare between the wo friends as they step out and nod at the bell.

Round 2:
Starting with more intensity off both wanting to impose their will on the other after Nina started slowly the last round. Getting into a routine of throwing combos at each other while circling, both have quick hands and hit more often then not. Nina seems to land the harder shot after the first half of the fight; backing Kaya back to the ropes. Clinching up for the first time in the bout as both seem to be whispering to the other about beating each other. Getting separated again; the last minute is both trading power shots; knocking sweat off the others body till the bell. When the bell had rung, Kaya and Nina stopped and stared exchanging a few unflattering words then going back to their corners.

Between rounds:
Julie is much happier as she pats Nina on the back and says "Much better round; keep pressing the advantage and you'll win" Nina had a black eye and was still reddening around the face as Julie tried to slow the swelling down. Lauren was still supportive of Kaya saying "it's ok babe, next round it's yours for the taking if you concentrate again" Kaya had swelling around both cheeks; her lip was fat from the combos that had hit her repeatedly. Both women stood and dark expressions were exchanged between the two combatants.

Round 3:
Kaya and Nina jump out of their stools charging out as they begin to slug it out in the ring centre in silence. Surprisingly to the American crowd, Kaya actually pushes Nina backwards to the ropes showing some great power as grunts can be heard coming from the Bulgarian. Against the ropes now; sweat hits the ground as the hard shots smack into body and the head mercilessly. Nina escapes off the ropes but blood now smears the white gloves of Kaya; fulfilling her promise as Nina's nose drips from her nostrils Dobrev manages to see the round out with jabs to keep Scodelario back till the bell with the women nodding to each other and muttering more insults.

Between rounds:
Nina looks more annoyed than hurt after that round, she punches the turnbuckle in frustration. Julie checks her nose and it's happily not broken, just sore and she should be able to stop the bloodflow. Shouting "Come on! What happened to the Bulgarian barrage?! Get into gear and win now!" Kaya almost bounces back to her stool, her smile beaming as she looks at the blood on her gloves. Lauren berates her to keep focus "don't think a bloody nose will stop her! You have to keep the pressure and win this now!" Getting a new gumshield, the glare between the two women is becoming more intense as they bang their gloves together.

Round 4:
Kaya comes out looking to keep control with quick movement and a jabbing drill but Nina has other ideas. She manages to barge the English girl to the ropes and this time it's Kaya who is getting hammered to the body. For the second time they clinch and seem happy to take a breather after a hard fought three rounds. Scodelario manages to get the jab working after the half way point until Nina manages a hard hook to the Brits left eye that creates a cut above the eyebrow. Kaya backs off for the rest of the round as Nina gives chase and at the bell the "besties" go nose to nose with a hint of a smile whispering threats how they're going to end this before separating.


Between rounds:
Both corners are quiet as the seconds sense the need to focus on the damage that their fighters have. Nina has that nose bloodied again causing her to breath heavy as sweat drips down her hair. But at least for her blood stains her gloves as well now and she smiles at the sight with her mind fully focused on the task as she sees Kaya as her enemy. Kaya is angry to say the least; her eyebrow isn't bleeding heavily but over time she knows her enemy in her mind now will target it for victory. Starting to breath heavy herself, she believes the next round is key to who wins overall in her mind.

Round 5:
Kaya goes all-in; she manages to bust Nina's lips and barge her into a corner early on, the look on Dobrev's face is fearful as she didn't believe her friend could attack her so hard. Dobrev manages to escape but is driven back to the ropes on the other side of the ring and takes another beating to the body again. Luckily she clinches up and spits her gumshield out to get as much air into her lungs as Scodelario tries to separate them to finish her enemy off. As the ref separates them Nina says I need a gumshield so he's forced to allow her to get a new one and a breather. He warns her "don't try to trick me with that, if it gets knocked out fair enough, don't spit it" Nina nods and manages to use her footwork to survive the round as Kaya roars at the bell frustrated at not finishing the bout.

Between rounds:
Nina sits with her bloodied lip and nose making her lower part of her face look like a horror movie as Benz does her best to clean her up. Julie tries to motivate her girl "you can bring this fight back into your favour, get at her and smash her!" Nina replies through her busted lips "she's tired, next round I take her out." Kaya sits in her corner; head down, breathing hard, she's moving her arms to stop them cramping but she's starting to tire from the hardest bout of her career. Berlingeri tries to get stop her fighter being frustrated "Head up and end this, you're fighting the bout of your life, she's great but you're better." Kaya nods as she slowly steps up and the two women prepare to get back at it.

Round 6:
Dobrev is now the woman who pressing the red button and strikes heavy blows that have the formerly dominant English girl backing to the ropes. Clinching up again, Kaya is desperate as her kidneys taken several hooks and is grimacing after each blow. The two are drenched in sweat and could be mistaken for oil wrestlers if they weren't attempting to trade body blows. Kaya pushes away as she takes a heavy hook to her bloodied eye that seems to nearly shut it and wobbles her as she uses another clinch to
survive the round. Both have to be pried apart as they're that tired from the pace and damage they've dealt to each other.

Between rounds:
Both women slump onto their stools after six hard rounds; Julie and Lauren have a hard job ahead to get their girls ready for the next round. Nina still looks a mess even after the last round she dominated, her once blue bra is stained red now as blood still drips off her face, her gloves are stained with Kaya's blood. Kaya doesn't look much better, her right eye is nearly swollen shut, her cut above the eye is getting worse as her cheek is covered in blood with Lauren trying to clean it up. Both women step up gingerly as they breath heavily looking weak bu determination in their eyes mean they will continue to give their all.

Round 7:
Sensing they need to end this now they head to the ring centre with neither having the spring to their steps. Going head to head with tired guards and trading body blows; grunting and some screams escape lips as whatever energy they have is being used to crush the others ribs. Both clinch up again as the ref doesn't give them too much time to breathe as he senses it won't be long till one woman wins. In the final minute Nina delivers another hard hook to the now shut eye; down goes Kaya whose weeping out her good eye. As the ref begins the count; Nina wills Kaya to stay down as she sees her friend stir and it's like Dobrev is seeing what's she's done for the first time. At six, Kaya starts trying to use her arms to push herself up but at eight her arms give way and she collapses to her side then back as the ref reaches ten.

Winner: Nina Dobrev K.O round 7.

After:
Nina drops to her knees to check Kaya who looks like an extra from the Walking Dead with the blood from her cut eye. Surprising Scodelario smiles at Dobrev, even with tears on her good eye and says as best she can "beers on me then" Nina gets her gloves taken off but doesn't leave Kaya's side as the medics check her for lasting damage. The cut will take time to heal and her swollen eye but doctors say a weeks rest will help as Nina holds her friends gloved hand.

Kaya whispers "don't let them take me out on a stretcher, I want to leave the ring proud." Nina sheds a tear but nods as she helps Kaya up to a standing ovation from the crowd at the battle they've witnessed and the sportsmanship afterwards. Nina with help from Julie and Lauren, help both fighters walk back up the ramp and anyone who says friendships die in the ring may question it after this sight. Both Kaya and Nina are taken to hospital as a precaution after the war they've been through.
