Tracy Spiridakos (Bazz Fight Club) vs Elizabeth Gillies (Beever's Babes USA) (Words: Knowlesey / Results: Lookout!)
Tracy has a reasonable record in FCBA, but at 28, she needs to start winning better fights to progress and in taking on 22 year old Lizzie, she is gambling, because the youngster looked good in knocking out Anna Silk, and has ambition to take the bantamweight belt. Lizzie gets into the ring first, looking good in red bikini with matching gloves and boots, with Tracy displaying her body in a white bikini, with matching gloves and boots. Round 1 The girls grudgingly touch gloves, and they’re soon testing each other out with jabs, Liz getting home with some sharp, bruising blows before Tracy can retaliate fully, but when she does, she’s testing the younger girl’s defence as she hits her to the jaw with a couple of sharp punches, making her back away, but she doesn’t seem to want to attack Lizzie, lets her come to her again, takes a jab and a neat hook, then returning fire with a pair of hefty punches, again catching the younger girl, and making her back into the ropes, but again she doesn’t seek to punish the kid, stays back again, almost invites Lizzie to attack her, then takes a couple of punches before countering strongly, hitting the younger girl harder this time, and she’s landed the better punches in the opening round, with Lizzie looking puzzled. Round 2 Lizzie’s making the running again, with Tracy seemingly happy to let her do all the attacking, and she gets hit quite hard to the face, Lizzie loosing off hooks with both hands, Tracy not countering this time, and she clinches, thudding in a couple of lefts to Lizzie’s midsection at close range, the referee pushing the girls apart, and Tracy clips Liz across the jaw with a right hook to send her backwards, Tracy not closing her down, though, and Lizzie recovers, lands a neat jab, cross combination without reply, and gets up on her toes to dance and punch, Tracy not answering with anything damaging, and it looks like she’s biding her time, letting Liz get into a rhythm, and maybe see where her opportunities might come, but she’s almost given Lizzie this round. Round 3 It’s a similar story, as Lizzie whips a right hook into Tracy’s ribs to follow her opening jabs, Tracy again backing off, not returning fire, and the younger girl gets back at her, pressing her backwards, and she jabs her again, sends a right hook to her ribs, but gets tagged on the counter as Tracy swats her with a right and a left, making Lizzie back off – and this time Tracy decides to follow up, cracking another right hook into the younger girl’s face, and another, Lizzie feeling Tracy’s strength, and she covers, but gets a heavy punch to her ribs, making her yelp. Lizzie’s in the centre of the ring, but Tracy’s right in front of her, and she’s landing big punches on her ribs, gives her a swift left and right to the face, and closes her into a neutral corner, gives her some more hard shots, and the bell rings to pause the punishment, as Tracy takes control. Round 4 Lizzie looks a little slower this time, which is no surprise, because she took a lot of punches in round 3, and Tracy’s attacking, sensing an early win against the youngster, and she gives her a series of firm jabs, then whips a left hook over the top of Lizzie’s guard, sending the girl sideways and backwards, Lizzie stumbling, and she gets tagged again, this time with a right hook, and Tracy looks like a girl on a mission now, zapping Lizzie with jabs and crosses to her reddening face, and she’s again working Lizzie to a corner, hits her with an uppercut now, plus a solid left hook to the cheek, and that cheek’s looking sore and bruised but Lizzie manages to clinch, and the referee has to work hard to break that up, Lizzie landing from the break, but she gets hit again, and there’s some blood on her face now, a cut on her right cheekbone leaking some blood, Tracy stinging her again right on the damage, and Lizzie’s getting battered as the round closes, struggling not to go down. Round 5 It looks like Tracy has Lizzie’s measure now, moving well, and she’s punching the girl hard to her face, opening that cut again, Lizzie retreating, Tracy hitting her again, but Lizzie counters and counters well, snapping Tracy’s head back with a left uppercut, and she hits her to the body to follow that, shocking Tracy, who concedes canvas to Lizzie again, the younger girl connecting with some solid jabs, but she gets too close to Tracy, and the older girl punishes her with a heavy smack in the mouth, making her stumble backwards into the ropes, Tracy following in now, though, and she hits Lizzie twice more before the younger girl reacts, punching her way out of trouble with an aggressive display of hitting, pressing Tracy across the ring, the older girl flailing slightly in defence as Lizzie ends the round on a definite high. Round 6 The girls are taking a slight breather in the opening stages of round 6, neither getting much momentum going yet, but Lizzie finds Tracy’s face with a jab and a hook which makes the older girl counter punch, rapping Lizzie’s damaged right cheek, which is bleeding again, and she has Lizzie backing away, tries it on with a big right hook – but Lizzie sidesteps that sharply, and lands a little flurry of shots on Tracy’s face, and she follows that with a crisp hook to Tracy’s ribs and a stiff little uppercut, which has the older girl teetering, unsteady on her legs as Lizzie hooks her face, quickly, and puts her on the canvas! A stunned Tracy gets up again at 6, but she isn’t set at all, and Lizzie’s after a finish now, although she’s running out of time, and ends the round battering a cowering Tracy against the corner, the bell saving her. Round 7 It doesn’t look like Tracy’s ready for the restart, and she’s certainly unsteady after Lizzie thumps her with a couple of crushing left hand shots, Tracy at her mercy now, and Lizzie doesn’t show her any of that! She lifts Tracy’s head up with an uppercut, then crashes in a right hook to her jaw, sending her back to the canvas, on her back and out! Result: Elizabeth Gillies knocked out Tracy Spiridakos in round 7. That was a real turnaround, with Tracy somehow losing her way in round 6, and paying for it, as the upwardly mobile Lizzie just took her apart and finished her. Tracy still looks stunned as she is led away, leaving Lizzie Gillies to milk her ovation from the fightfans tonight, and she’s starting to look like she might be ready to step up and fight a top 10 bantamweight.
