TESS VALMORE

POPPLEWELL/GAGA Although she won the second round, things were not going well for Popplewell. Gaga floored her in the third and had a wide lead at the end of five. Gaga was moving in for the kill, when Popplewell caught her with an left hook and then an uppercut that put Gaga on the canvas. She made it to her feet before the end of the count, only to be forced against the ropes. Popplewell landed a few more unanswered punches and the bout was stopped

C.COLE/GHADIE I have no idea why Ghadie continues. The question was not who was going to win, but how long would Ghadie last. The answer was less that five rounds. Ghadie was lucky to survive the fourth after Cole decked her. Cole finished the battered and bloody Ghadie with a right hook half way through the fifth

GRIMES/JUSTICE Justice took the first two rounds, however, it was all downhill from there. Grimes worked on Justice’s body for the next three rounds. Late in the fifth Justice could take no more and was sitting helplessly in the ropes when Grimes landed a couple of hooks to the liver that sent Justice down for the count

FANNING/D. CAMPBELL This was a good fight. Campbell floored Fanning in the third. Fanning evened up the bout by sending Campbell to the canvas in the sixth. Surprisingly Campbell came out for the seventh and unloaded of Fanning and had her ready to go as the seventh ended. It didn’t take Campbell long to end the fight after the eighth began. A couple hooks and Fanning was counted out.

JEPSEN/K. STEWART Jepson thinks she is a big star. That’s news to me. She thinks she should be in the FCBA, That’s more news to me. It was news to Stewart also and she wasn’t impressed. Jepson did manage to take the first two rounds. After that it was all Stewart who played around with Jepson until she finally KOed her in the sixth

JOHANSSON/PORTMAN This was the third fight between the two. Portman had won first two. Make that the first three. Johansson was looking good through four as she had a substantial lead. It all changed in fifth as Portman staggered her with a right hook. Johansson barely managed to finish the round. She didn’t finish the sixth as another right hook landed on her chin and she went down for the count

PANETTIERE/HALE The best fight of the night up to this point. Panettiere had a slight lead at the end of four due to a second round knockdown of Hale and two rounds that were declared draws. Hayden extended her lead by taking the fifth. In the sixth, Panettiere went down for an eight count, victim of a Hale uppercut. Hale continued landing punches in the seventh and had Hayden hurt at the end of the round. Hale ended the bout in the eighth with a straight right and left that left Panettiere on the canvas as the count passed her by, A big upset.

TERRELL/JENNER JMD

DOBREV/SCODELARIO An intense fight with considerable blood flowing. Dobrev suffered a bloody nose and cut lip while Scoledario suffered a cut over the eye. It was the cut over the eye that determined the winner of the bout. By the end of the sixth round, Scoledario right eye was virtually shut. Dobrev took advantage of the eye in the seventh. Another took to the eye late in the round sent Scoledario down and the bout was over

SPIRIDAKOS/GILLIES Spiridakos won three of the first four rounds and was head on the cards at the end of five. In the sixth, a series of hooks to the body and chin sent Spiridakos to the canvas. She was up at six, but barely managed to finish the round. Spiradakos had not recovered at the beginning of the seventh and was easy prey for Gillies who ended the bout with right to the jaw

KEEGAN/J. L. COLEMAN JMD.

GLAU/BENOIST This was one of those fights. Even at the end of two. Even at the end of four. Even at the end of six. The bout would not go eight.. In the seventh, a big right hand from Benoist had Glau staggering and into a left hook that sent Glau down out cold

VANCAMP/WOODLEY Another good bout on a night of good bouts. VanCamp took the first two rounds. Woodley then took the third, hurt Vancamp in the fourth and decked her in the fifth. VanCamp took the seventh and the eighth was declared even after Woodley fouled VanCamp during the round and then VanCamp fouled Woodley after the round. Woodley won the eighth and finished VanCamp with a right cross in the ninth

SCHERZINGER/MUNN A pretty one-sided bout. Scherzinger won only the fourth round of the 5.2 rounds the fight lasted. By time the sixth started, Scherzinger was pretty much a wreck and Munn sent her into oblivion with a left cross

LILLY/FREGE I have no idea how this bout got scheduled. I know there are upsets and there have been some tonight, but an upset here just is never going to happen. You knew it was just a matter to time before Lilly unloaded and put Frege into dreamland where she has spent most of her fighting life. The fight lasted about 13 minutes with the expected result delivered by a Lilly right hook

HOLT/MITCHELL A close and brutal bout that reached a climax in the last minute of the seventh round. Mitchell staggered Holt with a hook and then gave Holt one the worst one minute beatings I have ever seen. I was hoping the referee would step in and stop the fight but he let it continue until Holt finally went down for the count

KAJLICH/KEiBLER The only conventional welter fight of the night The welter division can be called a one punch division, but to we need do drag in a fighter who has had one fight in the last five years to get it. Kajlich is a top ten welter when she fights. Sending her against Keibler got us what we expected. The bout lasted less than eight minutes. Oh Yeah Kajlich won by a KO. Isn’t that a surprise

STRAHOVSKI/WINSTEAD The best current rivalry in the FCBA and the best matchup of the night resulted in a FOY candidate. Winstead got off to a fast start taking the first three rounds, knocking Strahovski down in the second. Yvonne came back to take the next three rounds, flooring Winstead in the fourth. Winstead won the seventh and Strahovski evened the fight up again getting the eighth. The ninth round was sensational. Winstead went down early and Strahovski went down late. The fight was still even going into the tenth In the last round. a straight right put Yvonne on the canvas. She managed to get to her feet but was battered helpless in a corner and the referee stopped the fight. Winstead takes the lead in the rivalry 6-5

UPTON/T.COLE JMDD

HUDGENS/KENDRICK If the preceding bout is a FOY lightweight candidate, this bout is a flyweight candidate. Kendrick floored Hudgens in the second, but the champ came back and won the next three rounds, Kendrick floored the champ again in the sixth but got floored in return. Kendrick won the seventh, but then took a terrible beating in the eighth. Kendrick tried to keep Hudgens at bay in the ninth to no avail. Hudgens pounded away and finished the challenger with a hook to the chin. Not a good week for Kendrick. She loses a title shot as her movie opens to a 6% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes
