THREE BLONDES & THREE BRUNETTES VS THREE BLONDES & THREE BRUNETTES AT THE ASYLUM

BEFORE:

"It's certainly nice to get a chance here in the FCBA," says Jacinda with a smile. "I'm looking forward to showing the folks over here just what a big, strong Aussie can do!"

"She's rugged and all that, no question about it," says Kesha. "But, when 'The Hammer' falls, she won't be rugged enough."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'The Water Lets You In', by Book of Fears, and, as you might know, that's the theme song for the Netflix series 'Bloodline', and here comes one of the stars of that series, the lovely Jacinda Barrett!"

Cassie: "I hear that's a pretty good show, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Shut UP, Scabbo! And I WILL find out how you hacked my phone and what channel Netflix is ON!"

O'Dell: "Barrett into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a black two-piece and a body that looks much younger than it's 43 years."

McCarthy: "I keep telling you, age isn't anything but a number. Why, this girl is just a few months older than ME, and she still looks great. Not as great as ME, of course, but, I mean, who does..."

Tess: "Truck. New headset. Mac's head just swelled and snapped hers again..."

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, and listen to 'Tik-Tok' as it bangs through the arena and the singer of said tune, 'Six Feet of Sexy', Kesha, heads down to ringside."

Cassie: "Kesha, of course, going to be working some at welter now as Front Street moves back into the division. No question she's big enough. And, there's no doubt she hits hard enough, either."

O'Dell: "Big K into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that navy blue bikini she likes..."

McCarthy: "And, getting absolutely DESTROYED in the disrobe, as usual."

O'Dell: "And, it's time for some picks. Tess favors Kesha. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Barrett's never had an FCBA fight, but, my sources tell me she's fought a lot down under and I think she'll beat 'Six Feet of Grungy' tonight!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess."

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. No surprise for two tall girls with plenty of reach, but we're immediately to ranged warfare, both girls getting their jabs lined up early, doing a little locating, finding range, probing for weaknesses. The jabs, of course, the left hand for Jacinda, the right for Kesha, who's a southpaw..."

McCarthy: "And a DOLT..."

Cassie: "Um. Kesha has an IQ of over 140, Mac. That's near-genius level. And she also got a perfect score on her SATs. She's pretty smart."

Tess: "What did YOU get on your SAT's, Mac?"

Cassie: "Don't make fun of Mac. The SAT's were harder in her day. They had the same amount of time as they get now, but she had to carve everything in stone..."

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, BOTH OF YOU!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys as we come down the stretch here in the first. Good, back and forth round with the fighters doing plenty of recon, as you might expect. Barrett moving very well. Has very good feet for a welter. Kesha, of course, also very athletic, again, especially for this division. Ten seconds to go. Good one-two from the blonde and there's the bell. Close to Kesha."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins the way the first ended. Blonde and brunette boxing at range. And, as we've pointed out before here at Asylum, this is not the Kesha you'd have seen earlier in her career, when she was all about power and brawling. Now, she's a more balanced fighter. Has the power, but can box as well..."

Cassie: "And, that can be a big weapon at welter, because not all welters can fight like that. Some of them ARE all power, and it can help to have other tools in the box."

O'Dell: "Of course, Kesha not just a welter. She fights at light, too, and has the athleticism and quickness to match up with the girls there. Barrett, meanwhile, showing plenty of athleticism herself, Mac. Jacinda a big, strong girl, but she's moving very well. Showing good feet and quick hands so far tonight."

McCarthy: "I like what I'm seeing from Barrett. No doubt about it."

O'Dell: "Heading down the stretch in the third. Another good back and forth round. Neither fighter able to grab control of this thing. Both scoring in spots, both putting punches together a little better in this stanza. We've seen a bit of an increased work rate in the second, but, again, it's fairly even terms right to the bell. Close to Kesha again."

Tess: "And, big K has the 20-18 lead after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third begins on the exact same terms. Doesn't look like either fighter sees any reason to change what's working, so neither is doing that. We're seeing another slight increase in work rate as the fighters get a better and better feel for the other, find a few more chinks in the armor, but that's about the only change thus far."

Tess: "Really good boxing, as you said, Jenny. But some hard shot is landing here."

O'Dell: "No doubt about that. Both of these fighters are big and strong and they can hit, so, you're going to feel it when something lands. But, both ladies are also very sturdy, so they can ship punishment and stay afloat and that's exactly what both of them are doing in this fight, to this point at least."

Cassie: "But, let's not take away from the defense, here, Jenny. That's been solid on both sides as well."

O'Dell: "Absolutely. This is good, sound stuff from both fighters, and both corners have to be happy with what they're seeing to this point. Perhaps, Jacinda's particularly. She's giving away a lot of FCBA experience in this one, but she's holding her own very well with Kesha. And, in fact, as the bell rings ending the third, it's close, but she's claimed her first round."

McCarthy: "And cut the blonde's lead to 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "More gun platform stuff to start the fourth round. Both fighters getting in a pretty good offensive rhythm now, and that's leading to more leather landing despite the sound defense you're seeing on both sides of this thing. Barrett getting a bit more aggressive this round. She's taking more fire as a result..."

McCarthy: "But, she's looking to shake things up here, Jenny and SHE JUST DID WITH A RIGHT HAND!"

O'Dell: "She hurt Kesha with that straight right, a BOOMING cross that landed clean and wobbled the blonde's legs! Barrett now shoving all the chips into the middle of the table and going to work. She's thumping away at the blonde, who's giving ground in gobs and quickly ends up on the ropes..."

Cassie: "Jacinda wants to end this thing right now, and I don't blame her. She's the underdog here. She needs to try to finish."

O'Dell: "And, that's clearly the game plan. Barrett sitting down on every punch now, shrugging off Kesha's counters, not exactly winging away, because she's not getting sloppy, but she's throwing everything she's got at the blonde down the stretch. Kesha hanging on, however, and she's going to make it to the bell. There it is! Big round for Barrett, though."

Tess: "Jacinda gets it wide and evens the fight at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Barrett right to the offensive to start the fifth. She's looking to consolidate now. Kesha giving a little ground as Jacinda works forward behind the left hand, dropping hard rights on the blonde and GETTING ROCKED! Kesha with a left-hand counter and she staggered Barrett with it!"

Cassie: "That's the one-punch power this girl has! That punch came off her BACK FOOT and it still stopped Barrett in her tracks!"

O'Dell: "And, this round turns on a dime! It's Kesha over to the offense now and a wobbly brunette backing up. Jacinda taking heavy fire from the blonde. She's still moving the feet, though, staying off the ropes. Clever stuff to avoid getting trapped, but Kesha getting plenty of hard shot on target."

McCarthy: "Barrett doing a good job of stabilizing now, though. She's jabbing back, seems to be shaking this off a little."

O'Dell: "That, she does, Mac, but Kesha still getting the better of things. She's getting that heavy right jab, that Front Street Jab, on target in a big way, and it's setting up good, clean lefts. Barrett able to ship them and fire back, but she's shipping a lot of leather right to the bell. Kesha's round wide."

Tess: "And, it's Big K 48-47 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Kesha now looking to consolidate, just as Barrett was to start the last round. Jacinda holding ground, though. She's not willing to retreat in the face of the blonde onslaught. And we're seeing some seriously heavy exchanges as a result. Both girls getting hard punches home, and, again, both shipping the damage and staying afloat."

McCarthy: "I like this from Barrett. She doesn't want to let this girl get her on her back foot."

O'Dell: "And, Kesha determined to put the brunette there. She's looking to impose will physically now. And there's a HARD shot from Barrett and DOWN GOES JACINDA! Overhand left from Kesha landed clean on the chin and Barrett falls like a tree, crashing onto her back and actually bouncing once before coming to rest."

Tess: "Cassie, you might want to warm up those vocal cords, because that was The Hammer Of Thor..."

O'Dell: "Kesha moving deliberately to a neutral corner. Clearly doesn't think there's a need to hurry, and I don't think she's wrong. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. No movement at all from Barrett. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It' is OVER! And, your winner by KO6 in one-punch fashion is 'Six Feet of Sexy', Kesha!"

Cassie: "Check the replay on this. Here's the hard right hand from Barrett and Kesha's left already in motion. Watch when it lands. That's it. It's over right there. Barrett is out before she hits the ground. Just an awesome punch..."

McCarthy: "Palicki's is still better."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kesha, and Big K, there were some heavy punches landing in there tonight..."

Kesha: "Oh, she can HIT, Tess. No question about that. She's smart and she knows how to fight, and she's got a ton of power. But. Only ONE of us has The Hammer."

Tess: "You seem to be enjoying this work up at welter, and you're definitely doing pretty well up here..."

Kesha: "I can fight up here. I've got the size and the power. I'll probably fight some at light, too, because there are good fights for me there and I can make the weight, no problem. But. Yeah. I want to keep working at welter and I'm aiming for the title."
