"BBU GOES JMD" FROM STOKE-ON-TRENT

BEFORE: "I was born into Jugs of Mass Destruction!", raven-haired Alice Goodwin shows a lot of confidence ahead of her BBU debut here on home turf in Stoke-on-Trent where she meets Japanese gravure icon Yoko Matsugane who still seems to be living off her upset 2012 triumph over Lucy Pinder to book this fight. Goodwin spends most of her time in Sngapore these days where husband and one-time English football wonderkind Jermaine Pennant keeps his playing days alive but since female boxing is banned in the Southeast Asian country, Alice happily made the trip back home to finally launch her BBU career.
Goodwin hoped to wreck fellow Stoke girl Faye Evette Betts' jugs first but just like Rhian Sugden and Sophie Reade, the UK pin-up contingent doesn't want to taste the unknown since everyone's noticed the TIG's high entrance to BBU lately and Alice also fights out of the Melinda Messenger-led stable which has rattled several wins in succession since joining the league over three months ago.
Not much can be said of Matsugane's current form, she pretends to understand too little English to speak to Kate Abdo before the fight and since that Pinder upset victory she's only fought once and was knocked out by Front Street Japan's compatriot Harumi Nemoto back in October of last year.
Alice Goodwin wears a black basque top with crimson trim, black knickers ans crimson gloves. Nightshade black hair in loose waves. Yoko Matsugane wears a red bikini with white trim and white gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a loose bun at the back of her head. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the 125 lbs catchweight.
Round 1:
Alice is two inches taller than Yoko and that shows in a reach size too; the local girl makes the home town - and like half of the country - roar in delight when she spikes some Asian meat and thumps Matsugane's boobs right into her chin with a booming display of power and mean intentions. Yoko shows a true samurai-like stone face while getting ravaged so early in the fight and blasts into Alice's cleavage with similar effort but just can't make her shots stick and slides off the forearms too often to stay in the exchange. She has to yield real estate shortly after the minute mark and Goodwin makes her pay thereafter by launching more short range jabs that land directly between Matsugane's boobs. The Asian girl drops towards the ropes in the final minute and has to soak up a leather flood which makes her wince but she catches the raven-haired foe with one last punch of the round and clips the chin in the proccess - that makes Goodwin really angry but she's hauled off by the ref amid a rampant support from the Stoke audience.
Round 2:
Yoko applies some early clinch and the Stoke rookie struggles to break free while getting bumped jug-to-jug shortly afterwards; suddenly a ripping hook nails Alice on the solar plexus and makes her scream out in pain while the Asian visitor triggers a proper follow up and burst into the English cleavage dropping Goodwin on her heels within seconds. That's a shocking turn of events after the one-sided opener but Yoko shows plenty of skill while blasting Goodwin's rack apart and sending her butt-in-ropes thereafter. Alice groans in her efforts to swing back but feels the chest assault too hot to handle and bellows out against the turnbuckle where Matsugane traps her for remainder of the round and cleans out the breadbasket while thumping the local girl with a set of uppercuts to sign off a dominant round.
Round 3:
Melinda Messenger is fuious with the newcomer; Yoko knocked out Lucy Pinder before (who is now a member of TIG stable) and that inside knowledge seems to be bothering Alice a bit. Alas nobody said the BBU stuff was easy in first place! Goodwin continues to blow hot & cold as an almighty scramble ensues in the third with both women steering their shots deep in each others' cleavage but missing plenty as well and the bout turns into a WWE-like diva show with more wrestling and mouthing-off on hand than actual boxing. Those verbal assaults come from the Stoke girl who clearly tries to pump herself up but she still gets thumped with more uppercuts up the alley in the third minute and sags in the corner with the Asian gravure model preying on her rack like there's no tomorrow. Bell eases off the Staffordshire dismay to some extent...
Round 4:
Front Street Japan's coach Kei Mizutani orders Yoko to blast the British lass to the orbit now... that was an encoraging response to a difficult opener and Matsugane's eyes glare with a new spark... that smells trouble for Goodwin? Well, not exactly... Another close range tangle has Yoko buried into Alice's rack but a sudden rocket upstairs nails her on the ear and half-spins to the ropes. Ugh! That's not a JMD-punch especially it was delivered straight away but the Stoke fans don't mind this at all. Alice spends the next minute or so chasing the rattled opponent down and succeeds in pounding her back to the turnbuckle where she seeths on coach Mizutani's angry face by hammering uppercuts into Matsugane's rack and bounces it off her chin one more time. Yoko groans in pain for the first time tonight as she drops the stone-cold attire but Goodwin gasses out after such a hectic pursuit and settles into wrenching the fellow brunette on the ribacge as she can't stretch her elbows anymore to stay in the uppercut drill.
Round 5:
The gloves are off now... Yoko finds the second wind in her sails much quicker than Melinda & Alice hoped for but the Stoke camp was ready for the Asian assault and it's obvious that Matsugane wants redemption after that poor fourth round. She swings over the top trying to catch the British WAG in full tilt but drops the low guard and finds Alice blasting her on the liver just past the minute mark.. Ugh! The Japanese knees buckle and Yoko leans forward into a bursting uppercut on the mounds that sends her bouncing in and off the ropes for a scything hook straight into her left bra cup... "Aiiiiii", Yoko screams out and wobbles into the ropes deadmeat as she nearly trips over her own feet just before Goodwin turns the Stoke crowd wild with a chopping left hander on the solar plexus... "It's sayonara, bytch!!!", she yells at her opponent and sure enough, MATSUGANE SLIDES TO HER LEFT SIDE and gurgles in pain unable to catch her breath anymore... so much promise up to this point... and all wasted in a flash... Alice finally shows some core strenght to dwarf a very strong challenge and despite Kei Mizutani's urgent scowls, Yoko can't rise to her feet and remains collapsed on her side with eyes closed... KO5 Alice Goodwin!!!
AFTER: That's what the Stoke crowd wanted to see and well, Alice Goodwin has arrived in BBU in best fashion possible! She raises both her arms in the air before calling for Melinda Messenger to "drag the bytch so I can facesit the crap out of her!". Kei Mizutani wants to halt the action but is wrestled back by the ref and TIG's bodyguards so she can only watch in horror as Melinda rips the bikini top off the motionless Yoko and introduces Alice into a smothering send off.
Goodwin rubs her 32G into Matsugane's 37H but soon moves into covering the older brunette's face and presses her jugs until she hears the quiet squeals stop and Yoko's heels stop pounding the canvas in a futile attempt to break the hold. That was all nice and easy and well, Alice probably can't wait for her next fight while the likes of Betts, Reade and Sugden must be looking a little worried now.
Truth be told, the post-fight smother was nice and easy but Alice still looked vulnerable during the second & third rounds as Kate Abdo states in her reviews. Sure, she is a rookie after all but you have to be more resistant to punches than in a regular bout as JMD is all about hurting the other girl, not just brawling and wrestling yourself to victory. Alice was bold to open her BBU account with Jugs of Mass Destruction but she will find things going much tougher in the future. Especially if Jordan Carver of the Black Eagles Boxing starts a personal feud with the Stoke brunette which was reported last month already. Apparently the German model really hates seeing Goodwin gloat because of her marriage to that "football nobody; Pennant isn't exactly Becks and Alice will never be Posh". "Harsh but fair" - Kate Abdo agrees with the Carver statement to close out the BBU TV coverage.
Final result: Alice Goodwin def. Yoko Matsugane KO5.
