BBU SATURDAY NIGHT BOXING FROM WEMBLEY ARENA, LONDON
(Lioness Club vs Lookout! Atlantic Boxing)

BEFORE: Jessica Schwarz hasn't fought since losing the bantamweight crown to Una Healy in July of last year but she remains the ultimate benchmark for all the title aspiring opponents so accepting the challenge from Lookout! Atlantic's Teresa Palmer didn't quite catch the whole league by surprise. The Aussie actress remains unbeaten in five attempts and has recently returned to the UK boxing scene by blasting out fellow compatriot Madeleine West inside three rounds. However Denise van Outen predicts a much tougher test for Palmer in the Wembley Arena tonight and quite frankly, she's set the bar very high with the Schwarz match-up which almost borders on outright mismanagement from Nicole Richie & her entourage.
Jessica Schwarz wears a black basque top, red knickers and golden gloves. Dark brown hair pulled back in a ponytail. Teresa Palmer wears a red bikini set and white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1: Teresa wants to upset the former champion with some early aggressive jabbing but she keeps bouncing off the German's high guard and gets caught with a couple of heavy swings over the top herself. Jessica is well known for her punching power and Denise van Outen thinks she can easily dump the blonde into all kinds of trouble with literally a single combo straight on target but Teresa prefers to brawl it out once she gets caught with the first dose of German assault. That shows a lot of confidence in the Australian's attire but is maybe ill-advised on the long stretch. Schwarz maintains the methodical stalking thereafter and keeps bombing Palmer with menacing single hands however the younger actress dances around on her toes well to avoid all those efforts and gives the former champ a long stare at the bell.
Round 2: Jessica keeps her focus and settles into a steady left/right jabbing approach while Teresa looks keen to land that big punch and throw the brunette off balance on the spot. However that's a very optimistic tactics against one of the most successful bantams in BBU history and fails to pay off which leaves Palmer visibly frustrated espcially when the German lands a piercing hook on the nose and wobbles her on the heels instead. Blonde's quick feet enable her to escape from a looming follow up but she's forced into defensive circles thereafter and gives Schwarz plenty of working space which results in more accurate jabs peppering her high guard for remainder of the round.
Round 3: Nobody expected a Madeleine West-like performance from the Aussie actress but she slowly gets outworked in close range into a visible performance edge and the brawling tactics enables Jessica to pick her off almost at will during the third round. Palmer's hunt for a haymaker turnaround backfires into her face - and quite literally - when she gets caught by a vicious hook on the left eye and sags on her knees while Jessica ups the tempo and shows first signs of punishing intent. She clobbers the blonde into the ropes and ravages the breadbasket to avoid the desperate high guard which stacks Teresa up in the corner amid loud yelps. Schwarz leans on her and drills the liver area to maintain her advantage but fails to make further inroads upstairs and Palmer looks more annoyed rather than hurt at the bell.
Round 4: Schwarz hurries her jabbing efforts as if she predicts immediate response from the Aussie but suddenly Palmer finds that big punch she was looking for and nails the brunette on the nose with a wild overhand swing and adds a left hook on the solar plexus which bends the German to the side for the first time tonight. A series of close range jabs bumps Jessica onto her heels and before the ex-champ can respond, Teresa blasts her across the mouth and spins back to the ropes. Schwarz's footwork doesn't quite match the Aussie so Teresa squares up to her with a flurry of head hunting jabs and bangs her on the temples before switching low again and piercing the navel which dumps the German butt-in-ropes and enables the blonde to clean out shop in the latter stages of the round in fairly convincing fashion.
Round 5: Teresa enjoyed her best round to date in the fourth and looks to take advantage of Jessica's inferior movements to inflict more damage on the former champion. Schwarz realizes she needs to up the tempo again as she hasn't really spooked the Aussie opponent off despite a promising start however another right-on-right tangle blasts her across the mouth and enables Palmer to add immediate jabbing follow up on the tummy. Schwarz wobbles into a clinch but finds the blonde tearing into her liver area and backing her into the corner. A lenghty werestling struggle follows but it gives the older woman a time to adjust her thoughts and Teresa looks annoyed at the bell again with the veteran stalling her progress at the worst possible timing.
Round 6: More close range brawling leaves the bout lacking a major breakthrough, Teresa spikes the German's midsection but fails to drive her back to the ropes again and eats a couple of hooks on the side of her boobs which wobble her into a desired stalemate. A futile attempt to bump Schwarz off into a working range indicates that the ex-champ still has a lot of power left in the tank before a scything hook across the mouth sends the Aussie into a quick retreat. Her efforts to fight back against Jessica's stubborn but otherwise effective attire ends in another shoving stalemate and both women end up jostling on the ropes for meaningless supremacy with the blonde getting a little vocal in disapproval.
Round 7: BIG PUNCH PALMER!!! Blonde rattles the brunette with a clean hook on the temple and adds a quick follow up on the mouth to sink on of the most durable bantams around on soft knees. Jessica tries to deke away from the looming leather flurry but her feet stay behind and enable Teresa to launch a furious attack in close range that sends the former champion spinning back to the ropes with a loud ache. Palmer seeks another huge punch to break the brunette's resilience for good and to Denise van Outen's surprise, she finds one and blasts Schwarz across the jaw before whooping one more on the eye... AND THAT'S TOO MUCH FOR JESSICA who collapses on her backside in the corner while Palmer seeths on her with that familiar Oz accent... a small commotion right next to the ref ensues before a delayed count has Schwarz back up on her feet at seven... she shakes off the unexpected knockdown quickly and tries to trigger instant response but Palmer's confidence is sky-high now and she outworks the ex-champion pinning her to the ropes and blasting more punishing hooks on the temples that leaves the brunette covered behind a tight earmuff at the bell - a very rare sight indeed.
Round 8: Lioness head coach Mel B. is on overseas duty in Palmer's home country - supervising Yasmin Verheijen's upcoming beach boxing showdown - but Jessica is such an experienced competitor she doesn't need any help to get out of the hole according to Denise van Outen. However it looks like someone forgot to tell Teresa about it as she unloads another ferocious attack at the older woman and picks her off in mid range before driving a hook to the solar plexus and just stacking Jessica up in the center of the ring... a well measured hook on the liver bends the German to the side and while she attempts to lock the blonde down in a clinch, another piercing hook blasts her on the mouth and drops the guard on the spot... a wrenching uppercut finds the jaw seconds later AND SCHWARZ IS DOWN... SHE IS DOWN AGAIN and the Wembley Arena gathers a collective breath as the former champ is visibly stirred by the experience... "Oh look how the mighty has fallen!", Lookout's manager Nicole Richie is ready to blow the gasket in the stands but Schwarz battles back from the brink of disaster and halts the count at eight... she doesn't look all that well though and the blonde romps into the clear after a delayed command... head hunting menace shatters the high guard and dumps Jessica back to the ropes where she only soaks up unneccessary punishment and throws nothing back as Palmer wades in for the kill... BUT THE REF HAS TOO MUCH RESPECT FOR THE EX-CHAMP and hauls the blonde off her prey before more damage is done... Schwarz slumps on her knees and doesn't contest the stoppage while Teresa leaps in the air and shouts back at the stunned Wembley Arena audience... TKO8 Teresa Palmer!!!
AFTER: That's the most important win of Teresa Palmer's BBU career and everyone inside the arena knows that... Beating Jessica Schwarz is huge for anyone's prospects and worthy of a Top 10 ranking alone! There were signs of rustiness from the German powerhouse after a lenghty absence from the ring - plus she will turn 39 in four weeks time - but even the current champion and allegedly pound-for-pound podium ranked Una Healy could only enforce a decision over her last July. You can't buy this kind of publicity and tonight's result should put the whole division on notice! Lookout! Atlantic hasn't threatened the bantamweight title picture since Rosie Jones lost the straps in August 2014 but Palmer is ready for the elite stuff now!
Meanwhile Schwarz remians gallant in defeat... she accepts a half-hearted hug from the blonde Aussie - who looks overjoyed by this victory to barely keep her cool - before waving back to the otherwise supportive crowd. Unlike Gina Wild, Jessica remains the most popular German entity with the English fans and some of them pray to see both Alesha Dixon and Lisa Maffia back from their extended US tour to cross her path one last time. The Schwarz retirement talk doesn't hit the high gear just yet but surely the writing is firmly on the wall now?
Final result: Teresa Palmer def. Jessica Schwarz TKO8.
