BEFORE: Former Miss Universe pageant winner Jennifer Hawkins wants to confirm her status as ACB's top lightweight however Kate Abdo points out that Krystal Forscutt's enjoyed slightly more success in the past few years while newcomer Jodi Gordon stole the headlines blasting out the highly-touted Yasmin Verheijen in tonight's opener which suggests the competition among the Aussie 130 lbs celebs is much closer than Hawkins would have preferred.

Meanwhile Amy Willerton represents the BBU in this match-up and she's enjoyed her moment in the Miss Universe sun finishing Top 10 back in 2014 however that's a far cry from Hawkins' 2004 overall victory. The 23 year old was knocked out on her debut by the very same Yasmin Verheijen who just choked on some sand minutes ago and Kate Abdo thinks the Hawkins challenge comes a little bit too early for the English pageant.

Round 1:
Amy charges through the sand and tries to catch the local favorite off guard but she fails to tame Hawkins' high guard and wastes a lot of effort before a scything left cross from the Aussie makes her think better of it and switch her targets on the body. However Jennifer rips a series of hooks on the ribcage and sets up another left cross that slices the Brit's guard and nails her on the mouth. Amy wobbles back on her heels and allows the older blonde to pick her off in close range; Hawkins' steady leather rush quickly underlines her veteran superiority, she slams so many clean punches into Willerton's face the British pageant must seek a quick escape but she gets stuck in the loose surface so Jennifer basically pounds her back to the turnbuckle where she signs off a dominant round with a belting hook on the breadbasket.

Round 2:
Another aggressive start from Willerton enables her to test the strenght of Hawkins' high guard but just like in the opening round, the work rate alone won't make Jennifer lose her composure especially that she executes her crossing route to perfection and slams more counter shots on the younger blonde's mouth to snap Amy's head back and send her into another retreat during the second minute. Kate Abdo gives the British lass a lot of credit for a brave start against one of the ACB's most feared lightweights however there's a feeling that Jennifer doesn't really give it her all yet, she settles into picking Amy off with single hand assault for remainder of the round and looks mildly content with the lack of aggression come the final seconds of the round. Willerton's realized she's not made the desired impression on Hawkins thus far and all her efforts result in minimal damage - both mental & physical.

Round 3:
Hawkins ups the tempo a notch and beats the British pageant for a quick overhand before landing another cross hook on the mouth. Amy gets staggered on her heels and succumbs to the facial assault that follows and thumps her butt-in-ropes amid a rampant ovation from the Surfers Paradise crowd. The Aussie rage continues and freezes Amy in a desperate earmuff cover but that hardly bothers Jennifer who shows supreme power and slices the guard connecting with the younger blonde's cheeks until Willerton simply bends over the turnbuckle and begins to moan in visible pain. Hawkins switches on the body and harpoons the exposed ribcage which further sinks the British pageant on her knees and keeps her soaking up more punishment until the bell. Hawkins shows no intentions to halt the onslaught and has to be dragged away by the ref and poor Amy looks a bit hollow in the eyes with her midriff taking a lot of heat in this round.

Round 4:
Amy gets stuck in the hole early on and fortunately wobbles just past the outstretched glove of her opponent before flicking a left cross on the jaw that briefly tames the Aussie onslaught. However Jennifer quickly regains her momentum and bumps the younger blonde off before settling into more cross hooking assault that punishes Willerton up the middle. Just like Yasmin Verheijen in the previous bout, the BBU fighter shows heavy touch across the sand and allows the local favorite to stack her up in the center of the ring with raw power taking over the proceedings. Amy's head snaps back repeatedly in the second minute and Hawkins pounds her butt-in-ropes in supreme fashion where she launches another body assault to keep the British lass behind a familiar earmuff cover that does nothing to prevent the Aussie dominance.

Round 5:
Willerton jumps into a leather frenzy early in the fifth - Kate Abdo thinks that's a last-ditch effort to prevent the Aussie veteran from kicking into top gear - but she fails to punish the high guard and gets walked back into the ropes when the former Miss Universe romps her with a quick hooking slant and finds the chin extremely easy to expose. Amy begins to wince in pain again as her head gets rocked side-to-side and she drops her guard a little too low now with Jennifer blasting a series of uppercuts to gain full control. Amy sags on her knees but literally slides onto the ropes when she gets picked off from point-blank range and Hawkins finally hits full throttle. The end result isn't pretty for all ye BBU fans, Amy screams out and half-turns to the left where Jennifer cracks a belting hook on the liver and lands another uppercut to almost whip the British pageant through the ropes and out of the ring. The clock expires before Hawkins can complete the wrecking job but she still beats the younger blonde into a standstill and Amy needs to wrap her arms around the ropes or else she'd be going down on her backside - her knees are shaking badly when she slowly walks back to her corner few seconds later.

Round 6:
Hakwins goes for the kill and Willerton's too slow across the sand to prevent it; she weaves to the left but still meets a crunching hook on the body which opens the floodgates as the older blonde traps her in the center of the ring with full swing... a nasty uppercut nails her on the jaw and Hawkins almost bursts out laughing when she adds a left hook on the ear to send Amy spinning into the ropes with her arms sliding by the waist. She's unable to react for the incoming blast and Hawinks crashes into her mouth with a right-handed haymaker that spins the poor Brit to the side BEFORE SHE TUMBLES FACE-DOWN at her opponent's feet. "Take that and smoke some!", Kate Abdo must applaud that monster drive from the former Miss Universe and Amy spits out plenty of sand as she kneels down at the six count. She hit the deck with her mouth open but that's not the worst part of it all... she leans back on the ropes after eventually rising to her feet at nine but the ref gives her a really long look before turning back to Jennifer who nods back at him and wants another try at the clearly aching Brit... Amy aches out one last time but remains glued to the ropes and Hawkins just rips into her mouth with another left/right combo that removes the last straws of the English resistance and shuts Willerton's eyes on the spot... another uppercut on the jaw completes the job SENDING THE YOUNGER BLONDE DOWN ON HER BUMS along the ropes... Amy slides to her left side and remains terminally crippled with the local favorite blowing kisses to the audience already. KO6 Jennifer Hawkins!!!

AFTER: That was a very brave effort from Amy who ultimately met a superior woman and broke down in wake of undisputed power advantage. Jennifer Hawkins remains one of the heaviest-hitting members of the ACB and if only she picked her opponents a little more carefully, she'd be right up there with Doutzen Kroes marketing-wise. Of course she felt short of the Dutch champion back in December but the infrequent schedule of her fights was always destined to let her down when facing the BBU's most prolific lightweight performer. And Kate Abdo reminds the European viewers that the rivalry with Karolina Kurkova also didn't play out the way Downunder Boxing executives wanted. All in all, those are the main reasons why Krystal Forscutt remains slightly ahead on the BBU pecking order despite "Green & Gold" placing Jennifer higher than her dark-haired compatriot.

While Jennifer is busy with her post-fight victory speech, Melanie Brown and Lauren Berlingeri assist the shaken & very much stirred Amy off the ring; allthough the blonde pageant is a free agent, the BBU connection allows both coaches to work in tandem as all the UK-based girls have a long flight back home ahead of them and Willerton's a promising girl who can yet find management even within Newcastle or North London. Plus Yasmin Verheijen's too busy with her own battle wounds to mock the blonde's demise back in the locker room.
