Rachel McAdams versus Emily VanCamp

Before: Fans are loud as both fighters head down to the ring in a highly anticipated battle between blonde and brunette, multi-time champions, Foxfire versus Lookout!, with the added bonus of both fighters part of the rapidly expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Emily VanCamp has already appeared as Agent 13 / Sharon Carter in Captain America: Winter Soldier and will be appearing next in Captain America: Civil War (May 6, 2016). Rachel McAdams will be appearing in Doctor Strange, with Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) in the title role and although her role is shrouded in mystery still, she is to be the female lead in the film and that is scheduled to be released on November 4, 2016. Competition to be the top female fighter within the MCU is hotly contested with girls like Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Evangeline Lilly, Cobie Smulders and these two contenders as well. If you expand it beyond to other media about Marvel Characters, but produced by Fox, Sony or Netflix, you have girls like Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner, Krysten Ritter, Morena Baccarin, Olivia Munn, Elodie Yung, Deborah Ann Woll, Rosario Dawson, Emma Stone and others. But, that's a discussion for another day. Today, you have Emily VanCamp and Rachel McAdams, who clearly don't seem to be welcoming one another into the MCU, which is not surprising, given their history in the ring or between their stables.

Emily VanCamp looks calm and almost regal at the podium as she smirks, looking confident as she gazes out over at the reporters, “I'm sure Rachel McAdams will be joining us shortly, but then again, I don't blame her if she sits this one out after the beating I gave her last time...”

As if on cue, Rachel McAdams emerges from behind the podium as she beams proudly, although glaring at Emily, “Sorry – I had to give some impromptu interviews backstage, but of course, I wouldn't miss getting my REVENGE on you by any means..”

Emily's eyes narrow but maintains her grin, “Sorry – I thought we would've heard you coming, with you using a walker and all.”

The crowd gives a little gasp of surprise, as does Rachel, as she steps forward and gets right into Emily's face, “I'm not old, Emily! I don't need a walker to get around and I certainly don't need any help to kick your butt in the ring.”

Emily gives a little push against Rachel's chest to knock her backwards away from her, “I know that Doctor Strange was going to take us to some new and hopefully weird places in the Marvel Universe, but I didn't know we were going to be seeing dinosaurs in the movie.” as VanCamp gives a little wink.

Another gasp from the crowd and a little shriek of outrage from Rachel as she lunges forward for a shove of her own, sending VanCamp stumbling back a few steps, “You are going to regret that, Emily. You were easily the most forgettable thing about the Captain America film you were in, but you won't forget what I do to you, you jealous...”

Emily cuts her off with a vicious slap across the face as the crowd watches in shock, murmurs of surprise ripping through the press corps, “So freaking forgettable that they brought me back for the sequel, huh? At least if they bring me back for a sequel, I'll actually be more than just a cameo, Rach. You are just a has-been bi..” but Rachel cuts off her off with a backhand of her own, eliciting a loud shout as Emily rubs her scarlet cheek.

The two of them lunge towards one another, but security staff is always increased for any press conferences involving Foxfire and Lookout!, so they are prepared to separate the two of them, though it it isn't easy and some of them will be the recipient of hazard pay after this. The two of them are separated, with Beth Harnois and Michelle Trachtenberg given each other angry stares of their own as they lead their fighters in separate directions. A wall of security staff prevent anything else from occurring, at least tonight.

But, the night of fight night, both girls show up as expected. Rachel is clad in a midnight blue bikini and matching gloves, with auburn tresses done up in a fighting ponytail; Emily is wearing a golden bikini and matching gloves with blonde hair in a battle bun. Both fighters stare each other down through ring instructions and are more than ready when the bell rings.

R1: Emily is very quick to drive Rachel to the ropes, swinging aggressively as she sends a right hand that just thumps into McAdam's forehead, thudding hooks driving into her shoulders and wild hooks just bouncing off breadbasket as Emily is pushing forward aggressively! Emily keeps up the pressure at the apron, with McAdams grunting in surprise, keeping her gloves up and elbows in to try to absorb the whirling series of punches delivered by VanCamp. Emily smothering offense by Rachel, just turning brawler and keeping her hands moving, battering Rach along her arms, chest, tummy, ribs – anywhere she can hit. Rachel doing her best to fight off of the ropes, protecting her face and chin, although her body certainly pays the price. Emily does try for some headshots, but McAdams is able to counter off the block and keeps fighting her way off of the ropes. However, VanCamp is able to bottle Rachel up and buffet her for points in a hard-hitting first.

R2: Rachel meets her foe midring this time around, determined not to get pushed back and also starts slugging away in a phone booth in a focused bid to deny Emily any canvas. Emily is focused and keeps her balance, keeping her hands up to her chest and crouching low to present a smaller target, just going to town again on Rachel's body to bully her backwards. Rachel swinging away, occasionally missing over the top, but quickly adjusting as she dips down to lift short and effective uppercuts into Emily's abs, blasting air out of her lungs. It's a two way hammer and tongs here in the second, but over the torrid three minutes, it heads Rachel's way. Emily certainly makes it expensive, but Rachel manages to outhit her toe to toe in a surprising turn of events for the first two rounds, with things not as tactical as expected. But, Rachel gets the better of the brawling here in the second and Rachel bounces back to her corner.

R3: Pace slows down a little bit, both fighters demonstrating a little more of the technical expertise you might expect from these two, with Emily able to keep the fight midring again but leaning forward, walking Rachel down a bit. The two are still pushing at one another, bumping shoulder to shoulder, but Emily sliding in snug left and right punches, hammering at Rachel's fit torso with determination. Hard tummy punches have Rachel doubling over, unable to respond as quickly as she might want to. Emily is methodical, eyes narrowed, just touching up at Rachel's abs and then turning her, either right or left, whichever way Emily wants. Emily is grinning, just slugging away and making McAdams take weight at all times. Rachel is fighting back hard, but Emily imposing will through three.

R4: Rachel comes out furious and eager to get back into it, but from the start, this round doesn't go according to plan as Emily nails her with a looping overhand right and Rachel crashes to the canvas with a thud! RACHEL IS DOWN!! McAdams is caught off guard and dropped as a result, just coming up blinking and shaking her head as she beats the count. VanCamp's eyes lighting up with mischief, hungry for more, just plowing in with overhand rights and lefts. The right just burying into McAdam's midsection as she Rachel reaches forward to clinch, pulling Emily into her body. Emily wriggling angrily as Rachel tries to this opportunity to catch her breathe, shoulder bumping against McAdams and writhing to free her arms as she pushes off all big girl off of McAdams. Ref breaks and immediately works on pulling the two apart, though McAdams buys every second she can before Emily jumps back in, just slamming in overhand rights to head or chest, while her left goes digging away down below into Rachel's abs until McAdams can clinch again. Ref pulls them apart again, but the process is repeated and the round ends with Rachel hugging a clearly frustrated VanCamp, smothering her offense against the ropes. Emily is so angry as she buries a hard right hand into McAdam's sternum after the bell, leaving her gasping and drawing a warning from the ref. Rachel is stunned, staggering to the wrong corner at the bell and wandering over to have her corner work hard to stabilize her in order to continue, blinking as Emily stares hard-hearted at her, arms crossed over her chest as she sits down in her corner, taking the round wide and controlling the tempo through four.

R5: Rachel crowding Emily midring, forced to stand and fight this round as she can't let VanCamp take control. Both girls are rotating counterclockwise in the middle of the ring, both of them getting bursts of offense in turn, with compact stances and heads coming in close together. Rachel digging in deep to midsection and chest, just turning Emily and moving her feet. Emily grunting and breathing hard, but firing back with roundhouses to torso and occasionally switching up top to clout Rachel across her temple. It's a thudding trade, loud groaning and the sound of leather smacking into sweaty taut bodies echoing around the ring, but the slower pace seems to favor Rachel this time around. McAdams able to lean forward on VanCamp, making her take weight and then stepping around, touching her up to body and piling on with valuable late points as she takes the round close.

R6: Emily charges forward, eager to get back on top, just driving Rachel back to the ropes again, practically tackling her to the ropes and she works methodically at McAdam's abs. Emily is determined not to let McAdams get into any semblance of offense, much less catch a breathe, just pounding away at Rachel's torso. McAdams is shuddering and moaning in breathless agony under the thudding impact, ducking and twisting, doing her best to stay covered up as her torso is lit up with a steady flurry of punches. Rachel attempts to clinch and hug her foe close once again, but Emily isn't having it as she keeps pasting away to tummy as she just ruins Rachel's tummy. Rachel is clearly getting outworked here, the ref watching carefully for signs of quit, but McAdams keeps blocking a lot and fighting out of the pocket as best she can. McAdams is wobbly-butt late, breathing hard, but she manages to score with a hard left uppercut that JUST sneaks in between Emily's belting roundhouse shots as Emily is hurt! Rachel pushing off of the ropes, spinning Emily around and just turns her flank, jabbing at her head and then sends a hard right cross that just swivels Emily's head. Emily slumps against the ropes as Rachel keeps attacking aggressively as Emily tries to cover up, just grunting with each powerful shot. Finally, the ref forced to step in and pull a breathless McAdams off of a stunned VanCamp at the bell, who is left panting and sitting in the ropes. Rachel managing a breathless grin as she steals Emily's round with a late but clean display of power!

R7: Both girls coming forward quickly, with Rachel determined to build off of her late momentum with Emily equally determined to shake off the effects of the offense at the end of the last round, but it appears that she hasn't fully done so as it's Rachel who gets on top of Emily quicker. McAdams is hounding Emily to ropes, just doubling up on the jab and landing some ferocious strokes along Emily's ribs. McAdam's gloves are just bouncing off of Emily's waist and thudding hard enough to echo around the ring, making Emily wince. Emily is the one covering up now from the body work, scooting to her left and trying to escape from the ropes as she attempts to clinch now. Rachel refuses to be hugged close as she bursts forward like she's shot out of a cannon, just jabbing now to fix position and then just ringing up receipts on VanCamp's ribcage with grim, unerring accuracy. Rachel's eyes light up now, just crashing in with batting, savage strokes to her foe's proud tummy and Emily is just reeling, doing her best to find breathing room. Emily doing her best to fight out of the pocket and use those long legs of hers to spring for freedom, but Rachel isn't interested in letting her escape or get any time to recover. In the second minute, Rachel is just punching through Emily's guard and sinks a right hand to her sternum to double her over. A follow-up left hook just swings in underneath, burying into Emily's torso with a loud crash and Emily's legs buckle. The crowd almost groans out sympathetically as another shot to VanCamp's abs sends all of the air just spilling out of her lungs as she gasps and sinks down to her knees, sprawling forward on her forearms. Posterior upraised as she tries to push herself back to her feet, just gurgling for air, but her legs feel almost numb from the pain and the lack of air doesn't make things any easier. Emily leans forward, forehead on canvas, gulping in air and blinking back tears as she is unable to get off of her knees. It's a vicious KO7 to the body – Rachel McAdams!!

After: Emily shuddering on the canvas, groaning out in pain as she struggles to get herself up off of the canvas. Nina Dobrev coming in to help, but Sarah Carter comes in to intercept her as the two of them engage in an impromptu catty brawl on the either side of the ring as the ref moves to pull them apart, calling for additional help as Rachel stares down at a breathless Emily. Rachel licking her lips as she grins, slowly removing her gloves as she lets them thump down into the canvas in front of VanCamp, drawing her attention. Emily looks up, both furious and horrified, as Rachel then goes to help Emily up, though perhaps not in the way that she intended, wrapping one of those strong arms around Emily's torso, giving it a little bit of a squeeze that has Emily giving a breathless squeal. McAdams has her other hand just tugging at Emily's blonde hair. Pulling her hair back, she taunts, more than loudly enough for the audience's benefit, “Guess you're the one who needs help walking now, huh? Did this dinosaur just tear you apart, huh? Not bad for a has-been, is it, Em?” as Rachel is relentless in her taunts, with her foe being taken apart by veteran punching power in this bout.

Emily trying to close her eyes, wishing she could be anywhere but here or better yet, switch positions with McAdams, but Rachel keeps a firm grip on her. Whenever Emily tries to look away from the cameras or squirm free, a firm squeeze around Emily's bruised abs or a tug on her hair has Emily groaning out, forced to follow along for a Walk Of Shame along all four corners of the ring. Rachel beaming over Emily's shoulders, with VanCamp's eyes glistening with rage and tears, cheeks turning red in anger. Rachel finally goes to release Emily, but before she does, she reaches down to wrap both arms around VanCamp's abs and gives her a reverse bearhug. Emily wriggling and gasping out as Rachel leans in and just growls into her ear, “When you're doing all of those press conferences, talk show appearances and such for Civil War, you just remember and let everybody know that there is a new Alpha around the MCU, understand?” Emily refuses to answer, but she doesn't have to as she is shoved forward. Nina and Sarah are finally pulled apart, spitting and kicking, but Nina eventually decides to come over to help her stablemate as Emily glares over at a jubilant Rachel. McAdams running her fingers through her hair as she bounces over to a corner, hopping onto a turnbuckle and raising her arms to the air as the crowd cheers their approval! In celebration, she seems to have forgotten Emily but ignoring VanCamp, has historically, not been the smartest move. But, right now, Rachel doesn't look all that concerned and deserves to rightfully enjoy the spoils of a hard-fought victory!!
