TESS VALMORE.

There were 23 fights on the card, eight of which were JMD or JMDD if that really make any difference. That made my job a lot easier since I have fewer fights to review,

PELAS/WINTER (JMD) Pelas KO5

LOHAN/C. J. PERRY (JMD) Lohan KO6

KARDASHIAN/JENNER (JMD) Jenner KO7

VIKANDER/SCABBIA The fight was even going into the fifth. Vikander had won rounds one and three while Scabbia took rounds two and four. In the fifth, Vikander caught Scabbia with a short right hook that stunned the Italian. Vikander then landed punch after punch until Scabbia could take no more and went down and was counted out while Vikander looked on from a corner

BENSON/SCODELARIO Scodelario had some success early, She had a good lead at the end of four, but seemed to be tiring. With Scodelario tiring, Benson took round five and six. By round seven, both were dragging. So much for conditioning. Benson managed to get her opponent against the ropes and worked on her body until Scodelario went down and was counted out

KENDRICK/STONE This was a fine fight. Kendrick surged ahead taking the first two rounds. Stone decked Kendrick in the third and had her in bad shape as the round ended. Stone continued the pounding in the fourth, but couldn’t put Kendrick away. Kendrick started a comeback in the fifth and had Stone in bad shape at the end of the round. Kendrick took advantage of a weakened Stoned in the sixth and late in the round landed a vicious punch to the body and then a left hook and Stone went down and out,

LOVATO/KEEGAN A fight that proves the old adage that “it isn’t over until it’s over” Not that it wasn’t contested, but Lovato was making this fight look a like a joke and she pounded her way to a wide lead at the end of six. Instead of finishing Keegan in the seventh. Lovato found herself on the receiving end of some heavy Keegan punches going down for a seven count. In the seventh, it was a tired Lovato who couldn’t hold off Keegan who hammered Lovato down to the canvas where she stayed as the count passed ten

JOHANSSON/SHAHI This was a big fight for Johansson. She has a mediocre record since losing the title five years ago. Shahi on the other hand has had a 13-4 record in the last three years. Beating Shahi would put Johansson back in the title picture. It didn’t happen. Shahi took the first two rounds and Johansson came back to even the fight at four. Shahi came on big time in the fifth having Johansson hanging on and ready to go at the end of the round, Johansson wasn't able to finish the sixth as booming Shahi punches put her down for the count

BELLA/GLOVER (JMD) Bella TKO5

MORRISON/PIPES Pipes was looking for her first win. She got it. The bout was even at the end of four. The the fifth Pipes went head hunting and was successful. A couple hard shots put Morrison on the canvas. The managed to get to her feet only to be mauled against the ropes and the referee stepped in and stopped the fight giving Pipes a TKO5. This was the fourth straight loss for Morrison. Her last win was two years ago. At 37, it is pretty plain she isn’t going anywhere in the FCBA, She should consider getting out of the game

McADAMS/VANCAMP VanCamp got the cards early taking three of the first four rounds. The fourth round was particularly good for VanCamp as she decked McAdams early and by the end of the round McAdams didn’t know where her corner was. McAdams spent the fifth round staying away and trying to recover. She did both. McAdams simply ravaged VanCamp in the sixth and had to be pulled off her by the referee as the round ended. McAdams would not be denied in the seventh. She landed punch after punch until VanCamp went down to her knees and was unable to get up as the count passed her

DAWSON/BRODIER This was Brodier first fight and that it was her first loss was no surprise. It was a surprise that the fight was even at the end of four. In the fifth Brodier was hammered but managed to stay on her feet and finish the round. That did not hold true for the sixth. Dawson, again, hammered Brodier who finally went down. finished for the night. Dawson KO6

KRSMANOVIC/SWANEPOEL (JMDD) Krsmanovic KO6

DADDARIO/KNIGHT (JMDD) Daddario KO7

ARTERTON/PEREGRYM OUTRAGE. A draw better known as a Tractorpull special because Tractorpull hates draws, Draws shouldn’t happen these days. Arterton got off to a fast start winning four of the first five rounds. Peregrym came back to even the fight at the end of eight. Arterton took round nine and Peregrym the tenth to again even the fight. I was ready for extra rounds and then the referee called an end to the fight. Thats all we need, a humanitarian referee. Jerk his license and send him somewhere where he will never be heard from again Some place like Cleveland.

UTGAARD/HOWARD Once again, we had a fight that was even at the end of four. That was he high point of Howard’s night. Utgaard hurt Howard in the fifth and pitched a shutout in the sixth. By the beginning of the seventh Howard had nothing left and Utgaard flattened her in vicious fashion

ATKINSON/LAW A hard punching fight that was even at the end of four. In the fifth, Atkinson started landing big punches buckling Law’s legs several times. Law barely managed to finish the round. Law didn’t come close to recovering between rounds. She was a sitting duck for Atkinson, who wasted little time in finishing off her opponent with a crashing hook. We consider Atkinson win to be a substantial upset

BLOODGOOD/STRAHOVSKI A catchweight fight. Bloodgood took the first round and Strahovski the second. Bloodgood unloaded on Yvonne in the third and the blonde barely managed to last the round. The fourth round was a repeat. Strahovski barely managed to finish the round. The bout turned around in the fifth as Strahovski floored Bloodgood with a right to the chin. In the sixth. Yvonne landed another right to the chin. Bloodgood went down and this time didn’t get up. Strahovski did the lightweights proud

ATWELL/MCKINNEY (JMDD) McKinney KO8

C. COLE/HALE A contender’s match which was a good fight. Hale got off to a good start by winning the first two rounds. Cole came back to deck Hale in the third and also pocket the fourth The fifth belong to Hale who then increased lead on the cards by flooring Cole in the sixth. Cole closed Hales lead by taking the eighth. That was as close as she would get. A right uppercut to Coles chin sent Cole back down to the canvas and this time she didn’t beat the count

MCCURDY/TERRELL (JMD CHAMPIONSHIP) Terrell KO6

RIGHETTI/MOORE There is something about a Righetti fight. No matter how bad it is going for Amanda, you have to feel that she is going to win. Thus it was for this bout. After Amanda took round one, Moore handed Righetti a good beating in both rounds two and three, having Righetti shaky at the end of each round. Righetti came out for round four determined. Not a good place to be if you are her opponent She took Moore to the woodshed leaving Moore mumbling on her knees as the referee counted to ten Righetti retains the welter title

LIMA/DECKER Lima took round one and Decker round two. Lima took the lead by winning round three and flooring Decker in round four. Decked closed Lima’a lead by decking her in the fifth , but Lima got those points back by winning round six. By the seventh both fighters looked weary. Decker won the round. however still trailed Lima on the cards. Decker remedied that problem in the eighth, by landing a straight right hand that ended Lima’s championship dreams. Decker retains the lightweight title.
