BEFORE: Former "Dr. Who" companion Karen Gillan is probably the most underrated welterweight around BBU - only Tamsin Egerton could argue that point - and she's gained more recognition on the other side of the Atlantic finishing in third place of the divisional Revival tournament last year but Denise van Outen thinks of her as a real dark horse to win the whole thing and become a champion in her own right.

Meanwhile Peta Todd only made the title tournament grade after Abbey Crouch's late withdrawal; she's still best known for getting absolutely roasted by Elena Santarelli TWICE and as Mark Cavendish's fiancee outside the ring. She impressively beat Manuela Arcuri earlier this year but that's hardly enough to make her a betting favorite against a Lookout Atlantic backed opponent.

Karen Gillan wears a classic Saltire bikini and white gloves. Long red hair tied in a couple of loose ponytails. Peta Todd wears a red bikini set with black trim and red gloves. Long dark brown hair in loose waves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Peta's significant punching power has rarely been used during her BBU tenure because she remains one of the slowest moving members of the 130+ lbs division and Karen takes full advantage of that from the onset as she bunny hops around the brunette while peppering her with repeated strikes up the middle. Peta swings a couple of heavy hooks but only grazes the forearms and when the ammount of Gillan's shots begins to show, she drops back into a high earmuff coverage. This only allows the redhead to switch her targets and pound the sluggish brunette on the body but she fails to trap Todd along the ropes and almost gets caught with a lurid hook on the temple in the dying seconds of the round.

Rounds 2 & 3:
More quick work from Gillan enables her to freeze the Page Three model in the center of the ring and work on the body thereafter. It's almost like Todd has given up the slugging tactics and prefers to wait for that haymaker game-changer but it's a naive idea against any Lookout-trained opponent and Karen just lays it into the toned ribs which eventually backs the cumbersome brunette against the cornerpost in each of the rounds. The Scottish actress can therefore drill the breadbasket in close range and shake the clinching attempts off while making the model moan under the steady barrage of punches.

Round 4:
It's just a bad match-up for Peta here; she can really thrive against extreme power punchers like Manuela Arcuri but struggles to embrace the actual speed & agility which Gillan calls home. The redhead has flirted with lightweight before and allthough she doesn't hurt Peta much, she slowly but surely wears her out with repeated strikes to the body and finally digs into her chest as well. Todd finds a hooking solution and tags her temples with a solid power drive but Karen's been the picture of resistance during the FCBA Welterweight Revival when she simply refused to go down against tougher opponents than Tood so the model's one-off effort barely makes her blink and she clobbers the brunette's chest in response which underlines the complete control of the close range stance.

Round 5:
Peta begins to wear out as Karen lets her swing more hooks over the top but the model just can't make it stick and eats a flurry of jabs up the middle in response with the redhead blasting her across the liver area for a good measure. Todd wobbles forward and tries to wrap herself around Gillan's waist only to meet an uppercut series on the breasts and spin back to the ropes. Karen leaps after her and slams a left/right combo on the mouth before a belting hook on the liver DROPS PETA DOWN ON HER KNEES... and that was an elite combo from the Scot who quickly struts back to her corner as Peta tries to regain the upright... she's back on her feet at eight but Gillan suddenly pours more facial assault and wraps the model up in the corner where she literally tries to take her head off and that's a nasty surprise for all the P3 fans - Peta just finds no answer to this leather rush and is fortunate see the clock expires in the middle of Gillan frenzy. However she looks in no shape to stop the Scottish floodgates anymore and shakes her head repeatedly as she walks back to her stool.

Round 6:
Gillan's all over Todd's body early in the sixth and staggers the model on her heels before piercing her liver area until the brunette bends forward and cries out her pain. It's safe to say the redhead removed the fighting spirit out of her opponent and when she reverts into an uppercut drive on the chest that splits Peta's arms and backs her into the ropes - the conclusion to this bout is imminient. Allthough Todd tries to swing back one last time, she misses the target completely and eats a nasty hook on the ear that pulls the plug on her legs and SENDS HER CRASHING FACE-DOWN at Karen's feet... and that would be that as they say. KO6 Karen Gillan!!!

AFTER: This result was predictable and just a testimony to Karen's dual-threat as a quick & efficient lightweight upgrade who can find her rhythm - and the neccessary power supply - to survive among the welterweight sharks. However she's due to fight the winner of Sophie Howard vs Joan Smalls next and whoever emerges from that contest will provide a FCBA-like toolset to undoubtfully raise Gillan's game to the highest level she's ever been asked for on this side of the pond.

Meanwhile it's business as usual for Peta Todd, another eye-opening defeat and she really has no answer to the fast moving welters while her allegedly powerful prospects might never live to see better days. Thankfully the PageThrees stable always seems to find regular work as they remain fan-favorites all across the UK. That's the one aspect of BBU the glamour models have mastered to perfection!
