Daisy Ridley versus Leah Dizon
(Words: ABC / Results: Lookout!)

Pre-fight:
Leah Dizon makes her much awaited FCBA debut this evening, highly touted after holding a 9-2 record in the BBU. In fact, she was 9-0, but has struggled in her last couple of bouts. Perhaps using the move to the FCBA as a means of motivation to get herself back on the winning track. And managing stable, The Fighting Academy, will be eager to assist her in achieving success early in her new league.

Leah’s opponent, Daisy Ridley, has had a very promising start to her fledgling career. The rookie is 3-0 since debuting in November last year, and has shown some serious promise along the way, helping her believe that she indeed can go 4-0 here tonight.

“Daisy is off to a great start,” Leah acknowledges. “It’s going to be a lot of fun to be the one to end her little winning streak. Time to come back down to Earth, Jedi scum.”

“Oh, Leah’s got jokes, does she?” Daisy giggles. “We’ll see if she’s still laughing when I knock her cute ass all the way back to the BBU.”

Round 1:
Leah gets into it straight away, full of confidence built from a stellar run overseas, and she has Daisy on the back foot quickly with a sharp jabbing combo around the noggin. Daisy is backtracking, guard fending off the attacks, when suddenly she slips aside, ducking into a looping hook that cracks into Leah’s belly, and she’s blowing out air like a popped airbed.

Daisy makes the most of her counter, and leans into a left cross that snaps into Leah’s right brow and jolts her to the side, her neck twisting involuntarily almost like something out of the exorcist.

Daisy smiles to herself, quietly confident it seems, as she may not have experience, but she has belief in her skills, and she sets them on Leah, popping a left hook to ribs that bends the beauty and allows Daisy to whack a right cross through her opponent’s jawline, staggering Leah again on clumsy feet.

Daisy comes at head again, but Leah has learned, and gets the guard up, blocking the leather. Then Daisy slips a hook lower, and Leah is on it now, her guard picking up the stuffing hook as well as the follow-up straight meant for pretty features. And with a shuffle and a duck and a weave, Leah launches into left, right, left jab combo that pops into the centre of Daisy’s face and startles her.

The Brit didn’t like that, and she leans into a reply with the right that Leah evades, before stuffing a rising left hook into Daisy’s right jug, crushing the firm orb. Daisy squeals, but instead of retreating or covering, replies in anger with a heavy left hook that pounds into Leah’s right cheek and makes her flinch long enough for Daisy to then SLAM a haymaker with her right glove into Leah’s gorgeous face, blackening her left eye almost instantly.

Leah is a little wobbly, and that big shot has her dizzied, but before Daisy can pursue, the bell rings, allowing Leah to find her corner and get a quick look at that bruised left eye. Daisy quietly seethes in her corner, staring at Leah, psyching herself up and not seeming to need any urgent medical attention.

Round 2:
Leah in less of a rush to begin the second. She waits out Daisy’s testing jabs, guards simply, slips left and rips a wild left cross that rattles Daisy’s right cheek!

Daisy is trying to shake the cobwebs from that one and now Leah is on her like a flash, belting into that fit midriff, really working Daisy’s abs and ribs over. Ridley is trying to cover and retreat, tummy taking a beating, coughing and breathing with difficulty as Leah pistons away.

Eventually, Daisy gets a left jab up that pops Leah on the lip and a follow up right snaps her head sideways, buying Daisy a moment to shuffle away and give that toned midsection a quick reprieve.

But Leah chases, wanting to push her advantage. She jabs high, Daisy blocking, and then rips a heavy hook to tummy that wobbles Ridley again and she flops against the ropes, cheeks puffed as her stomach churns. Daisy’s lovely midriff is bruised and clearly hurting her and she does her best to cover it as Leah closes out the round with more punishing hooks to ribs.

Leah looks reinvigorated as she takes a seat in her corner, and Daisy huffs her way to hers, breathing laboured and abs mottled.

Round 3:
Daisy trying to recover and Leah jumps straight in, flashing leather to sting pretty cheek and then stamping away at that flat tummy again. Daisy reeling, wincing, and trying to jab herself clear, but Leah having none of it, just pounding away.

Leah manages to trap her opponent in the corner and is drilling gloves at Daisy’s midsection as she turtles, back against the turnbuckle, cute but wobbling on unsteady legs.

Daisy tries to endure, but that tummy is taking a beating. Finding whatever she can to jab at, Daisy pops a glove into Leah’s heavy cleavage, bouncing those lovely jugs wildly.

The move startles Leah, and with a squeal she flinches, and tries to cover her chest. It gives Daisy just enough time to shovel an underhook into paunch and follow up with a devastating uppercut from the hip that blasts through the centre of Leah’s face.

And Leah is off her feet! Completely rocked, Dizon hits the mat on her back, the crowd roaring at the sudden turn from Daisy.

Leah is groggy, shocked, trying to get her senses back and work out what the hell just happened. Daisy looks a little surprised herself, slowly shuffling her way out of the corner to centre ring, wincing and clutching at those bruised, swollen abs.

Leah beats the count, clambering to her feet, a glove touching at her bloodied nose and now very black left eye. She staggers against the ropes and tries to compose herself, and the ref calls for the fight to continue.

Daisy is able to get a little momentum back after that shock knockdown, and as Leah continues to fight through a daze, Ridley is stuffing hooks back at her midsection, trying to wear her opponent down as much as she can before the bell rings.

Once it does, Daisy huffs her way to her corner with a sigh of relief, and Leah despondently pulls herself along the ropes to hers. This was all Leah until that rocket of a counter from Daisy and suddenly the tables seem to have completely turned.

Round 4:
Leah doesn’t seem to have really recovered from that knockdown, her head apparently still ringing. Those eyes are glazed and she is not the same fighter who was brutalising Daisy’s fit torso earlier.

Daisy looks worn and sore, breathing laboured, but certainly still there mentally and very much determined to pull herself through this battle.

A sloppy overhand from Leah is evaded by Daisy and the quick counter hook busts into Leah’s ribs, getting a yelp from her and she is quick to cover the second hook, guarding desperately and then shuffling into a little distance from Daisy.

Leah comes in again, this time throwing crosses, and Daisy is able to cover and block with the muffs, but is ultimately forced to retreat as Leah heaves away ferociously with great danger.

Daisy’s footwork looking a little sharper, and she slips aside to jab at Leah’s head, but Dizon blocks and then shovels an underhook at tummy, which Daisy swiftly dodges.

The exchanges carry on much the same throughout the fourth, with neither woman able to get the upper hand. Both fighters defending smartly and attacking cautiously, and they both take seats in their respective corners at the end of the round with a little less in the tank, but a renewed belief in self.

Round 5:
Leah hunts Daisy head right out of the gate, apparently with a plan, but Daisy thwarts it with a cleverly-timed duck and a hook to gut that blows all the air out of Leah. And on the rise, Daisy CRACKS another wild uppercut straight through Leah’s chin.

Leah FLIES off her feet! And she is out before she has even hit the deck. More power than one may expect coming from Daisy’s glove, but she has clearly been working on those uppercuts at training. That is the second great connection she has had tonight and Leah seems to be completely out of it.

The ref begins counting, but Leah’s corner are already trying to make their way into the ring. She is fast asleep on her back, eyes closed.

Daisy’s face slowly spreads into a proud grin as she realizes what she’s done, and she turns to her corner, giving a cute, and very relieved, thumbs up.

Daisy Ridley wins, KO5!

Post-fight:
Daisy Ridley clearly ecstatic at maintaining her perfect record, now having won four fights in a row. She is beaming as she addresses the media.

“Welcome to the FCBA, Leah,” Daisy giggles, all smiles. “I can see how she had such a good run in the BBU. If you let her get off to a good start, she’s all over you like white on rice. I really only a got a handful of good shots in on her. I’m just fortunate that I made those few count, and was really on point with my striking when it mattered.”

Daisy obviously proud, but also contemplative as she ponders the future. “Somehow I’m still winning, and it feels so good. I’m expecting Katie McGrath will be a tough test for me in a couple of weeks’ time, so I’ll be right back at training, but for tonight I think I can celebrate a little. Just soak it up. I’m not going to be undefeated forever, so I’d best enjoy it while I can, right?”

Leah knows all too well about having to enjoy the streaks while they last. After winning her first nine BBU bouts, she has now lost the last two of those, as well as her FCBA debut. “It’s okay, I’ll be on another win streak soon,” Leah assures us, remaining confident. “That Daisy has a lot of spunk, she’s done really well. But I’ll adjust to life here in the new league and I’ll follow her to the top. Have no fear, I’ll be there.”
