ASHLEY GREENE VS LEAH PIPES

Before: Leah Pipes seems particularly eager for this fight as she takes the podium at the pre-PPV press event. Smiling, but with a note of determination in voice she says: “This will be my first bout of 2016 and I want it to be a victory. I know Ashley has more experience than I do, but I need every fight and every win I can get. I know I am not the biggest name in the fed, but I like to think I am the most determined to carve out a place for myself here. That means getting fights and winning them. I just can’t afford to lose this fight—so my will to win is going to make up for what I lack in experience. What’s more, Ashley has beaten my stablemate Troian Bellisario. If I can beat the fighter who beat Troi—well, that will definitely prove I belong at the PLP.”

Ashley Greene hardly bats an eye at all this. She takes her turn at the podium: “We all know that it is hard to get yourself established around here when nobody knows your name and you have to struggle to get fights. I don’t claim to be a household name, but I have been at this a lot longer than Leah. Thanks to OddsandEnds, I have been able to get fights and I am proud to have ,500 record. Sure it’d not great, but it is more than a lot of fighters have and it is something I mean to build on. So, you see, Leah, I have a will to win AND experience—that’s why I am going to beat you. And yes, beating another PLP fighter is going to give me and all the other O&E girls a warm feeling of accomplishment. We LIKE beating you girls.”

Leah gives Ashley a chilly look, but says nothing at the time. “I’m saving my answer for the fight,” she says later.

In the ring, Ashley is  in a sunny yellow bikini with black gloves and boots (yellow laces), her brunette hair is in a tight battle braid down her back. Leah has chosen an orange bikini with red gloves and boots. Her blonde hair is in a simple ponytail. Both fighters pounding their gloves together and looking impatient as referee recites his instructions. Hard swipe of the gloves then sends Leah and Ashley to their respective corners, they study each other intently in a brief seconds before the bell. Then it rings. The fight is on.

R1: Vigorous exchanges right from the start as Leah and Ashley start firing leather as soon as they get within range. Brisk punching to the head and body as they fight for position at mid-ring. Both seem very determined to the other, but neither seems able to force the other back. Then Leah slips to the right and clouts Ashley a head-swiveling right to the jaw. Ashley retreats ducking behind her upper guard as Leah pounds Ashley’s midsection causing her fall back further. Ashley manages to duck around Leah and get up her protective jabbing to discourage the blonde’s pursuit. They are firing away to the bell pretty evenly, but Leah’s flurry seems to have won her the round by a close margin.

R2: Ashley and Leah go right back at it as the action resumes. Ashley hammering Leah’s belly and ribs. Leah responds though she seems to prefer belly and breasts as her targets. Ashley not liking having her jugs banged, but sticks to her plan and keeps smiting those ribs and midsection. Finally Leah starts feeling the aching in her flanks and starts shifting. Just what Ashley was waiting for as she comes under Leah’s weakened guard and pops the blonde under the chin. Now it’s Leah’s turn to go rubbery legged as she backs away and tries to get her jab going. Leah does pull herself together in good order and use her jab effectively, but Ashley keeps up a steady attack to the bell. It’s close, but Ashley Greene wins her first round of the evening.

R3: Leah looks irked that Ashley got the better of her in the last round, but she seems to remain cool as they come out for the third stanza. Leah bobbing and weaving as and Ashley circle. Leah makes a few preliminary moves aimed at Ashley’s head which keep the brunette off balance. Then Leah strikes with a furious series of hooks to Ashley’s solar plexus. Ashley doubles over in shock and gasping agony. Leah then sends rights and lefts banging into Ashley’s head. Ashley in full retreat trying to pull air into her aching lungs and get over the shock of those blows in the plexus. Ashley shows some good footwork in drawing Leah into feints and allowing her to avoid the finishing shots. Leah keeps up the chase and finally, late in the round, succeeds in backing Ashley in the ropes. Ashley goes face in gloves and sits against the ropes, giving up her body to Leah’s thrashing attack. Leah sweeps the round, but Ashley is still standing, though she looks dazed from the bombardment as she walks slowly back to her stool. Leah not entirely satisfied, but bangs her gloves together fiercely apparently showing determination to finish the job.

R4: Ashley seems very cautious as she comes out for this round. She has a decent jab going as Leah circles around her firing out quick flurries of punches, maintaining her control over the round. Ashley showing some evasive maneuvering, but Leah keeps up. Steady punching from Leah, mostly working Ashley’s ribs, trying to find that solar plexus but not getting it. Leah has to settle for piling up a nice point total and a wide win. Ashley looking serious, but walking to her corner with a firmer step.

R5: Looks like Ashley was using R4 to regroup because she comes out fighting hard this round. Her first shots catch Leah unprepared as they hook hard into her midsection and then rake her breasts. Leah falling back, trying to get her jab up, but getting clipped hard on the chin by Ashley’s flashing uppercuts. Leah ducking and trying to get around the surging Ashley, but Ashley neatly blocking and putting more leather into blonde body. Leah just backing up and trying to keep Ashley off her, but with only limited successful. Ashley taking some jabs, but she ignores them to keep up the pressure. Leah finally manages to pull away, but she is looking freshly banged up and sweat is pouring down her body. Ashley closes in again and pounds Leah to the body. Leah twisting and doubling up, trying to keep her jab going, but getting her head banged around as the bell sounds. Now it’s Ashley’s turn to smile with satisfaction as Leah looks around with a shellshocked expression as she slowly goes to her corner.

R6: PLP corner works hard and manages to get Leah out for this round and on the attack, but the counteroffensive quickly falters as Ashley greets it with fierce jab barrage to the face. Leah covers up and moves back. Ashley swarming in with powerful hooks to the blonde’s belly and ribcage. Leah being lifted up on her toes and stumbling which causes her upper guard to drop. Ashley’s right hand strikes with a lighting right cross to the jaw and follows with a left hook to the opposite side. DOWN GOES LEAH PIPES! Leah crashes onto her right side and struggles to rise. Referee hovers over her beginning his count while Ashley Greene retreats to neutral corner. Leah somehow gets to her feet ahead of the ten-count and makes it clear to the referee that she can continue. Ref waves Ashley back in and she wastes no time in charging into Leah with a fierce, but control driving attack on Leah’s aching body. Leah’s jab is feeble and uncoordinated as she finds herself backed to the ropes. Desperately, Leah tries to slide along the strands seeking escape, but Ashley cracks an overhand right to the temple that causes Leah to sag against the ropes. Ashley swarming in just knocking Leah’s chin back like a bobble-head doll! AND THE REF JUMPS IN! Leah just sags into the officials arms as Ashley walks to the center ring holding her arms up in triumph as the crowd cheers her victory.

The Winner: Ashley Greene TKO6.

After: A happy moment for Ashley Greene who can’t wait to have her gloves remove and swoop across the ring to hoist the conscious but woozy Leah Pipes to her feet for a Walk of Shame. Leah moaning her protests, but Ashley gleefully leading her on a circuit of the ring before releasing her to a stony-faced head trainer Nia Peeples and Leah’s friend Danielle Campbell.

“We both needed to win this fight, but I wanted it more than Leah did!” Ashley gloats to the press. “She thought she had me, but I was tougher than she thought. I came back and pounded her to a pulp. Good thing the ref stepped in, I didn’t really want to hurt her, but I sure did that walk of shame. I will remember that one for a long time.”

Leah Pipes doesn’t speak to the press until later, but she puts up a brave front: “Ashley has a right to be happy, but I let this one get away. I should have finished her the 4th round and she came back to cost me the fight. I am not to let this loss define my career. I will be back and I will win. That’s a promise.”

Exciting contest while it lasted. Leah had her chance, but as she herself said, she didn’t finish Ashley when she had the chance. Ashley’s comeback clearly caught the PLP fighter off guard and allowed the O&E fighter to set up the TKO to complete her counterattack. Leah’s situation looking darker, while Ashley’s has brightened, but that’s the way it is in the hard world of celebrity boxing.
