After losing to Katy Perry on her FCBA debut in April on a split decision, Alice Goodwin was keen to make amends. Debutant Genevieve Morton, on the other hand, saw Goodwin as a fighter with limited capability, whose defeat would launch her own star in the FCBA firmament. With both girls keen to fight, a match proved possible to arrange at short notice.

This JMDD bout is scheduled for ten rounds. Goodwin enters the ring in a black bikini with matches gloves, whilst Morton has plumped for a flower-patterned bikini and red gloves.

Round 1: Goodwin jabbing to the body, Morton trying to jab up top, Morton caught with a nice counter shot by Goodwin. Nice little exchange, Goodwin lands a left up top. Morton landing good shots a little more consistently. Goodwin slips as the feet get tied up somewhat. Morton with a good jab, Goodwin misses a counter hook.

Round 2: Right hand from Goodwin, and she's exploding with power shots that Morton backs away from. Morton trying to keep her hands up high. She's shaken again on a right. Morton staying away, throws a counter right but Goodwin shrugs it off and throws another right. Goodwin taking her time. A minute left. Goodwin cruising and doing nothing. Morton’s strategy is now to keep her hands very high and stay as far away as she can without leaving the ring. Morton falls over on a jab. Fans booing, thinking she is just looking for a way out. Referee could stop this and save everyone the embarrassment. And she does.

After: Initially there are concerns for Morton as she lies prone on the canvas. After a minute or two she slowly comes round. She is dragged onto her stool where the devastation at what has just happened is clearly painted on her face. Goodwin, on the other hand, laps up the adulation of the crowd before tossing her bikini halter in the direction of young men on a stag party.
