TESS VALMORE

Once again I remind readers that our rankings differ those from out friends at Boxing World in that we require activity. To be rated a fighters must have fought in the last ninety days or three PPVs which ever is longest. We also take into consideration the level of competition. To us, a 3-2 record against top ten opponents is better than a 5-0 record against class B fighters. Our number one ranked is quite often not the champion since it is not too unusual for the champion not to be the best fighter in the division.

THE TOP TEN LIGHTWEIGHTS

1. ODETTE YUSTMAN She lost her title in an upset earlier this year, but she has won seven of her last eight, including in win over the current champion Blake Lively. Last fought in May. Needs to fight on the August PPV at the latest.

2. BLAKE LIVELY She’s the current champion. I don’t like to rank fighters with losing records, but her win over Peregrym was impressive. I doubt she is going to be here long. Fought on the June PPV

3 MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD. She is barely over the 50% win mark, but take a look at who she has fought. She has won five of her last eight, fighting former champions in five of those bouts

4. JESSICA BIEL The Hall Of Fame member went through a rough stretch, but appears to be back to championship caliber. She has won four of her last five with a KO win over the tough Taylor Cole in the June PPV. Her loss was to the welter champ Amanda Righetti

5 KATY PERRY She has won six of her last eight although some of those wins were against former class A fighters who have been inactive and/or up in age

6 BROOKLYN DECKER Won eight straight before losing the title to Blake Lively in the May PPV. Activity may be a problem for her as may be quality opponents

7. MISSY PEREGRYM She is 3-1-1 for the year after losing a title bout on the June PPV. Arguably this small lightweight could be ranked higher

8. GEMMA ARTERTON Held Missy Peregrym to a draw on the April. Has a recent 5-1-1 record. Her loss was to Winstead. This may be her last appearance in the ranking as she needs to fight in July to stay ranked

9. ANNA TORV. She has won nine straight, however she really needs to step up in competition which has been less than sterling. Fought in May

10 ADRIANA LIMA She is Mistress of the Body Saddle which the only reason why she is here. We needed a name to fill out the top ten. You may point out that she beat Theron but that is no longer a big deal as she is, unfortunately, way past her prime

ON THE CUSP

TAYLOR SWIFT. She was won eight of her last ten but level of competition hasn’t been good. I suggest she look for someone in Boxing Worlds ten to twenty rankings

WHO DIDN’T MAKE IT

YVONNE STRAHOVSKI The top one or two lightweight is out on inactivity

KALEY CUOCO A top ten fighter. Inactivity

ERICA DURANCE Another top fighter who has been extremely inactive I will cease to mention her unless she fights

JENNIFER LAWRENCE. Her last conventional fight was in February. Since then she lost two ill advised JMDD bouts

ADRIANNE PALICKI A high quality lightweight lost her fight fight in 18 months in the June Asylum. I expect her to return to form if she gets actIve

TOP TEN WELTERS

1. AMANDA RIGHETTI Do I really need to say anything? The problem is she has to fight in July or drop out. Isn’t it a rule that the champ must fight within 90 days or forfeit?

2 BRIDGET REGAN She’s back. Dropped out due to inactivity, but came back on the June PPV to KO Paula Patton, She has won eight of her last nine. I know some will blow a gasket, but are seeing the return of the R & R division?

3. GEMMA ATKINSON Is 3-2 fighting top talent. Scored big win over Freeman in the June PPV

4. LEELEE SOBIESKI Won seven of her last eight. Beat Patton in May

5 CASSIDY FREEMAN Has won five of her last eight after her loss to Atkinson

6 KATRINA LAW Won four of her last six. She also lost to Atkinson. Needs to fight in July or she’s gone

7 GENA LEE NOLIN I hate to put her in, but I need names. She won her first bout of the year and for once didn’t foul The 45 year old Nolin beat a 48 year old opponent. That’s what I call a quality fight

8 KATE UPTON We will include her as she has won couple fights against less than top opposition. She is specializing in JMDD

WHO IS OUT

PAULA PATTON Lost four of her last five

MANDY MOORE Lost three of her last four. Would have to fight in July

MOON BLOODGOOD Lost four of her last five

BIANCA KAJLICH Inactivity

MILENA GOVICH Inactivity

ROBYN LAWLEY Inactivity

SARAH LANCASTER Anybody remember her. Wasn’t she the one who was going to make the R & R division history?

Does anyone remember the rest of the fighters that were in the tournament that was supposed to have save the division? I don’t remember, but I can tell you they are not mentioned here .
