BBU SATURDAY NIGHT BOXING

(Garnet Gunners UK vs BBU TV)

BEFORE: Charlie Webster has taken over the BBU TV lead anchor duties over the past month but like Denise van Outen explains, that's because of her return to active boxing competition: "I won't deny it! Tom Hilton has convinced me to go out there and have some fun again. I mean, I love being the face of BBU TV and all but deep down inside I still have plenty of wrath available and I just can't let Christine Bleakley brag about our last fight so here I am ready to show the whole nation I'm not past my prime just yet!"

Meanwhile former Hollyoaks & Game Of Thrones co-star Roxanne McKee looks to finally taste victory again, she's won just one of her last seven fights and her career has very much stalled over the past couple of years. The 35 year old brunette enjoys most of the crowd's support here in the Wembley Arena tonight - she's a Londoner by birth after all - but regular BBU TV viewers present on scene still make van Outen feel comfortable; the Essex presenter also has BF Tom Hilton in her corner to aid her bid. Kate Abdo reports from the booth and she hopes for a swift Denise victory but Roxanne is no mere pushover and can spoil the BBU TV odds outright.

Roxanne McKee wears a black bikini set and red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. Denise van Outen wears a light blue bikini set and black gloves. Blonde hair tied in a half-up ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:

Roxanne wants to upstage the older woman and whips immediate jabbing assault that sends Denise on her toes in strict avoidance inside the opening minute; the brunette adds a couple of swirling hooks over the top and catches the reporter's temples before a sagging strike on the boobs splits the blonde's mitts and makes her groan in clear discomfort. On the other hand McKee's eyes lit up and she delivers a vicious cross on the mouth to send her hitherto lacklustre opponent backing into the ropes. Even Tom Hilton's screams can't stop Roxanne from cleaning out the reporter's breadbasket thereafter and van Outen can only survive in a tight clinch but still gets shaken off come the final minute and eats a flurry of facial punches that drop her guard worryingly low in the dying seconds. However McKee lacks the killer punch to really hammer van Outen into oblivion and has to be pulled off at the bell with the Wembley Arena looking a little stunned over the one-sided action in the opener.

Round 2:

Kate Abdo begins to wonder whether Tom Hilton didn't outbid his girlfriend's comeback here but suddenly a zipping cross slams McKee on the lips and van Outen launches an unexpected flurry of punches in close range that snap the brunette's head back repeatedly and indicate there's still some fire left in the Essex-born cougar. Roxanne tries to find her footing amid the blonde's high tempo onslaught but struggles to live with it and drops cover enabling Denise to scythe her across the mouth down the stretch and literally pound into the corner where a swift drilling jab finds the solar plexus and slumps the actress for good. Roxanne's guard collapses alltogether in the final minute as the reporter rallies back into contention and signs off a pillar-to-post beating with a brutal hook on the left brow ridge that cuts McKee up right at the bell! Gruesome stuff!

Round 3:

Suddenly all hell breaks loose as the two cougars settle for a head hunting galore that wrenches the blonde's lips into a swollen mess but more importanly opens the cut around Roxanne's left eye and drops her behind a tight earmuff cover once she recognizes the blood spillage. Denise barks in anger and puts all her strenght behind another facial assault and since McKee's resitance was always a little suspicious, the subsequent collapse of the brunette's guard surprises no one around the Wembley Arena.... BIG PUNCH VAN OUTEN... another swirling hook nails McKee clean on the bloody brow ridge and makes her gasp: "Oh my God" before a sizzling her left hook follow up finds the chin and dumps the actress on the ropes with eyes closed... she bounces straight into a nasty uppercut on the jaw AND SLIDES DOWN ON HER KNEES as the crowd errupts in joy... Denise does a quick 360 turn unable to hold back her own feelings anymore whereas Roxanne sits down on her heels and stares down at the BBU TV corner in utmost shock. She gets up at seven but has the medics looking after her wounded eye already which delays the action. This disturbs van Outen's momentum a little and she wastes the final thirty seconds of the round piling worthless efforts against the brunette's earmuff guard.

Round 4:

Roxanne hangs back too much at the start of the fourth but she really struggles to live with that wounded eye according to Kate Abdo and Denise is all over her midsection in the opening minute showing versatile approach to an allegedly inferior opponent. McKee's only way to survive the post-knockdown daze is to clinch the older woman and van Outen somehow allows her to do that reverting into more meaningless punches against the forearms. This shows these two are not threatetning Top 10 of the bantamweight rankings anytime soon but one can't accuse Denise of lacking effort, it's just the execution that struggles to break McKee down once and for all. An ugly period of wrestling and shoving dominates the action leading to more Kate Abdo questions in the booth about the van Outen/Hilton tag team attempt.

Round 5:

McKee shows more aggression to freeze the blonde out in the center of the ring but most of her jabs bounce off the blonde's forearms before a belting counter sinks the brunette on her heels. Denise ignores working around that wounded left eye and just rips into Roxanne's liver area making her gasp in pain and drop the high guard. Van Outen quickly takes advantage of that and smokes the younger woman with a piercing uppercut on the jaw which shuts McKee's eyes and wobbles her into a proper follow up from the right... Denise nails the trembling foe on the ear AND SENDS HER CRASHING DOWN ON HER KNEES for the second time tonight! Tom Hilton is on cloud nine right here and even Kate Abdo looks shocked how easily the Essex cougar broke McKee down... this time the actress leans her head against the canvas and starts pounding it with her right glove as she looks much more vulnerable than in the third round... she beats the count at eight but can barely holds back the tears and needs a couple of shouts from the ref to resume her focus... however van Outen flies in with immediate facial jabbing assault after the command and snaps McKee's head back & forth which leads into anguished screams from the battered woman... Roxanne gets pounded butt-in-ropes and she can't keep her gloves in tact anymore as Denise runs towards the finish line and blasts a bruising jabbing series into the open target that makes the actress bleed extensively from the left brow ridge again... THE REF HAS SEEN ENOUGH OF THAT BLOODY NIGHTMARE and pulls the blonde off her wrecked prey as McKee slides down on her knees and begins to cry her heart out while pounding the canvas with both her gloves in utmost frustration. Bloody TKO5 Denise van Outen!!!

AFTER: The van Outen/Hilton tag team show is set to continue after tonight's impressive success but even Kate Abdo tries to justify it a little too much by giving Roxanne's performance more credit than it actually deserves. Nobody inside the Wembley Arena seems to be bothered by the inside BBU TV support and well, there's no sign of Christine Bleakley to crash the party either. Denise consoles the sobbing McKee and refrains from handing her a Walk Of Shame but Tom Hilton's presence seems to be more important as the couple exchanges a passionate kiss in the center of the ring before Tom carries the blonde off the ring and straight into the VIP lounge. Therefore the BBU TV coverage is cut prematurely short as Kate is quick to share some drinks in the winner's entourage before heading back to the airport to oversee the technical aspects of tomorrow's Amsterdam card coverage from the Cardiff headquarters.

Final result: Denise van Outen def. Roxanne McKee TKO5.
