Pre-fight:
Jaimie Alexander hasn’t received an awful lot of respect since her premature challenge of the Lightweight title, despite that exciting, tightly fought bout going all the way to decision. In recent times, her bout with the delectable Eiza Gonzales had the fewest views of the entire May PPV. But with one loss in her six fights, Jaimie is surely on her way to the big time.

“I’m not sure what to expect from Whitney,” Jaimie admits. “She looks like a power hitter, but hey, I haven’t seen her in the ring yet. I’ll make sure I find a way to take her though, regardless. I’m sick of people saying I don’t deserve to be in the elite squad. Of course I do. I’m going to go 6-1 tonight and make people pay a little attention.”

Whitney Port certainly doesn’t seem like a step up in class, but we wouldn’t necessarily know, given that this is her FCBA debut. She sure seems to believe she has what it takes, if that is any indication.

“She’s tough, of course she is,” Whitney says. “She hasn’t been knocked out yet. Well… until tonight. Watch and learn, Odette, Eiza and all you other LIGHTweights. This is how you knock out Jaimie Alexander.”

Round 1:
Alexander seems eager and confident and she strides into Port, keen to bully the fresh-faced newbie right out of the gate. Whitney looks taken aback and guards last minute, getting those mitts in front of a solid jabbing combo up high from Jaimie. Alexander presses and shifts hooks to the body, working Whitney’s ribs over. Port is on the back foot early as Jaimie presses quickly, looking to stifle her confidence and keep her in first gear. Jaimie using a bit of energy peppering at mostly guard, but we know she has plenty in the reserves and she looks confident of it.

Whitney’s guard working at pace, but eventually a cheeky left jab slips above leather and whacks Port flush on the nose, causing some involuntary waterworks. And with blurry vision, Whit’s guard isn’t quite as effective as it was to start, and Jaimie slams hard straights into the centre of face, getting a wail from Whitney and some quick shuffling towards the ropes.

Whitney takes a few more shots to face, a little cut opening on nose and a lump under the right eye, by the time the round is done. Port stumbles into her corner, and Jaimie looks like the champ she wants to be in the early stages of this bout.

Round 2:
Whitney’s vision seems fine to open the second, and she’s trying to make a fight of this, throwing some heavy hooks at Jaimie’s midsection. But Alexander is working the guard cleanly and shuffling smoothly, even opening up Whitney for a few shots to that bruising face. Whitney still trying to punch back, but Jaimie still looks fresh, and moves as though. Left jab opens the swelling under Whitney’s right eye, then right cross clips chin and has Port stumbling.

Jaimie forces her prey into the ropes and goes hammering away at lean midsection, causing Whitney’s torso some serious grief. Whitney is wobbly, and a launching uppercut bangs right under her jaw, bouncing Whit into the ropes and she is barely standing!

Somehow Whitney’s jelly legs hold her up as Jaimie bangs away with straights at her swollen face. Whitney a bloody mess by the time the second bell goes, and Jaimie looks supremely confident now.

Round 3:
Whitney needing a little cut work done between rounds, but she’s back out there, and seemingly with fire in her belly as she storms to centre-ring, throwing bombs. Jaimie is taken completely by surprise by the wildly aggressive attack, and the first clubbing right bangs hard into Alexander’s temple, seemingly knocking her for a loop.

Jaimie is stunned, the crowd equally, and Whitney continues thrashing away with beefy overhands, hunting a KO bomb it seems. Left glove clunks into right cheek, right glove to left eye, left leather to forehead, then right glove crashes down onto Jaimie’s left temple again, and the wobbly legs have traded places!

Jaimie bounces sideways into the ropes, using them to balance, but never sees Whitney’s gigantic wind-up of a right, and it BOOMS into her left eye. Jaimie is stumbling sideways, almost tripping over her own feet, and Whitney is pursuing eagerly. Whitney bangs a left hook into ribs, then a right straight through bruised cheek, and the bell sounds just in time to save a teetering Jaimie Alexander.

Whitney takes a seat looking bloodied but determined, while Jaimie is in shock on her seat, getting that left eye tended to as it is swollen almost shut already.

Round 4:
Jaimie valiant to centre ring, gloves raised cautiously, while Whitney jumps straight in again, throwing full straights towards pretty Alexander head. Jaimie is guarding strongly, and her leather absorbs most of the impact, until Whitney drops a shovel into those tight abs, then another. Jaimie shaking, but withstanding the battering, intent on protecting face. And when Whitney leans in for another tummy shot, Jaimie slips out a jab, collecting already bloodied nose and earning a pained yelp from her opponent.

Whitney cools and resets, eyes still on those abs as that is all Jaimie is really offering. Whitney busts hooks in again, and Jaimie absorbs, then smacks out a straight right, this time deepening the cut under Whitney’s left eye.

This exchange carries on for most of the round, until Whitney becomes impatient again and starts throwing haymakers at Jaimie’s head, simply trying to batter through her defences and break her down. Jaimie turtling, absorbing, and mostly seeming to survive, but really is stuck on the back foot throughout this entire round.

Both women tiredly to their corners after the fourth, and with the pace of this one, we are certainly going to find a winner before the full ten.

Round 5:
Jaimie out looking cautious again, and Whitney storms straight in with the same wild haymaker strategy. All-out offense is often warned against, and Whitney finds out why as soon as she launches, Jaimie springing to life, ducking right overhand and shooting a hook into the kidney before springing straight back up with a leaping uppercut that CRACKS right under Whitney’s chin!

And Whitney hits the deck, flat on her back! The giant uppercut from Jaimie has sat Port right down from the start of the round. The crowd is on their feet as Whitney desperately struggles to find hers. She is clearly spaced though, and Jaimie watches satisfied as Port barely gets to all fours before slipping face first to the canvas again. There’s the count!

Winner by KO5: Jaimie Alexander!

Post-fight:
Jaimie Alexander is cool, calm and collected, waving gratefully to the crowds as she does her lap of the ring. “Still yet to be knocked out,” Alexander coos. “I don’t care who thinks I can be elite and who doesn’t. I’m feeling great, and I only keep feeling better. I’ll work my way back into another title bout in good time. And I’ll BE ready this time.”

Whitney Port annoyed, frustrated, and pretty woozy as she slumps in her corner. “She can take some shots, that’s for sure,” Whitney grumbles. “I put some big hits on her, right on the temple, but she just wouldn’t drop. She’s tough. She’s sure tough.”
