BBU SUMMER ROOKIE SESSIONS FROM CARDIFF ARENA
Posted by Vassago on July 18, 2016, 10:41 pm
BEFORE: Helen George signed into BBU back in March already but struggled to find a suitable opponent for her debut even though the bantamweight free agency pool isn't exactly on the thin side. The 'Call The Midwife' blonde cutie made plenty of enemies on the set of 'Strictly Come Dancing' TV show as well but her feisty spat with singer Frankie Bridge (nee Sandford) simply couldn't translate into BBU reality-check due to the weight difference between the two.
However Martine McCutcheon is always ready to accept extra appearance fee despite her fighting record impressing no one (least of all former employer Girls Friday) and the weight scale tipping towards a proper lightweight these days as well. She dismissed Helen's feisty attitude and openly called her out whereas BBU TV's Kate Abdo believes the blonde's reputation is something to be reckoned with after all and we might just have one of the most exciting debuts on our hands here in the Cardiff Arena tonight.
Martine McCutcheon wears a black basque top, light blue knickers and matching gloves. Long black hair in loose waves. Helen George wears a silver basque top, orange knickers and matching gloves. Blonde hair with bangs tied in a tight bun at the back of her head. The fight is scheduled at 125 lbs catchweight since McCutcheon can't make the bantam outright anymore. Helen simply doesn't care and wants to destroy her in the ring!
Round 1: Helen jumps into a quick jabbing series and stacks the older actress up in the center of the ring with some accurate hitting but Martine unloads a response over the top and tries to smash her face with a proper piledriver seconds into the fight. Kate Abdo notices the blonde's much agile movement while ducking around the brunette's punches but on the other hand, most of the division would look very smooth compared to McCutcheon's average footwork skills. The older woman relies on power but struggles for accuracy and George wraps her in a bendy escape to the point Martine puts too much weight forward and eats a piercing hook on the mouth as the blonde rocks her from the back foot. Ugh! Helen cleans out the ample chest thereafter and takes over the command of a close range exchange but Martine can only apply a desperate earmuff unable to match her younger foe's intensity.
Round 2: The blonde wastes no time whatsoever in thumping the older woman up the middle and if Martine hoped for Helen taking it easy on her debut, she couldn't be more upset about the younger actress piling instant pressure from the bell. The brunette's high guard suffers a major collapse and George literally squeals in delight when she smacks her nose in close range before adding a nasty uppercut on the jaw that wobbles McCutcheon back on her heels. Martine tries to mount a comeback and leaps forward but Helen beats her for a left overhand and slams her on the ear which renders the brunette's legs jelly so a well-timed follow up from the right SENDS HER TUMBLING DOWN ON THE CANVAS after Helen found the other ear with her shot in the proccess! "Too frickin' easy, bytch!!", blonde tries to live up to the pre-fight intimidating hype and poor McCutcheon is just shell-shocked while she eventually beats the count at seven but looks a little misty-eyed here... "You're going down, bytch!", Helen rips immediate follow up to catch the brunette's nose and back her into the ropes with a relative ease however her head hunting display becomes too predictable and Martine survives the onslaught behind a tight earmuff while shaking all over on her visibly jelly knees. Helen bumps into the aching rival after the bell and vows to pound her senseless now which forces the ref to drag her away before something ugly happens here.
Round 3: Kate Abdo acknowledges Helen's doing mighty well on her debut and she roars into another thumping galore to dismantle Martine's high guard seconds into the third. The raven-haired veteran looks visibly spooked by the blonde's aggressive antics however George's head hunting intentions remain a little predictable. Still, this is her official BBU debut after all so one can excuse her for the tactical flaws; it's too much pressure for McCutcheon regardless and she disappears behind another earmuff and only clinches the rampant blonde which forces the younger actress into pounding away at the body instead. Martine slumps on her knees and begins to gurgle in pain but her response bounces off the blonde's forearms and makes no impression on her at all while another thumping series on the breadbasket seems to enlighten George about a versatile approach to this contest. Desperate clinching enables the brunette to see out the clock but Helen barks in her ear after the bell and clearly stays on top of the mental game as well as outright boxing.
Round 4: Neither girl has gained the crowd's exclusive support and the Cardiff Arena just wants to see a juicy knockout here in the card's opener; Helen's inching closer to securing that maiden success as she fakes another head hunting assault before burying her mitts into the brunette's guts and stacking her up in the center of the ring again. Martine doesn't have the speed to avoid the close range tangle and moans out her struggles while getting thumped to the body; she leans on the blonde rival but soaks up a painful series regardless and slumps against the ropes when George bumps her backwards without much trouble. A scything cross drops the brunette's cover and Helen whips her hapless opponent on top of the ropes while whacking her boobs from both sides and poor McCutcheon just can't take it anymore and takes a well-deserved knee in the middle of the blonde's leather frenzy... Ugh! This is turning ugly for the brunette very quickly but she beats the second count of the night at eight and vows to continue the fight... Helen just can't wait to resume the pounding though and wades in with more ruthless punches to the body which leave Martine crying out in utmost pain come the dying seconds of the round and the ref ponders his options only for the bell to save the brunette from a terrible demise.
Round 5: Martine didn't quit after the second knockdown but there's not much fighting spirit left in her as she looks obviously downbeat during the interval. Meanwhile Helen is up early in the opposite corner and bunny hops around the ropes to earn extra support from the crowd. Well, that even puzzles kate Abdo a little but one must say the blonde actress is miles ahead on points and can afford herself a bit of showboating. McCutcheon's glued to the ropes after the bell and avoids even exchanging punches with her dominant rival however George wrecks her high guard within a split second and resumes the head hunting assault that spins the brunette's hair around her neck and sags her behind another desperate earmuff... some people in the audience begin to whistle at the lack of production from the former EastEnders actress yet Martine can do nothing about it and when Helen hoofs her guard aside and bursts her lips into a swollen mess once and for all, she turns her back to her tormentor and leans over the ropes... George blasts her on the kidneys and shouts: "Fight, you ugly bytch!" but it's all over for McCutcheon who slumps into the referee's embrace with a shrieking noise of surrender. "Let it go, Helen! She's had enough!", ref waves the fight off and escorts the battered brunette back to her corner. TKO5 Helen George!!!
AFTER: The victorious blonde is visibly upset the fight got stopped already but truth be told, she battered the older actress pillar-to-post tonight and looked mighty impressive in the proccess. Even though Martine's record is as bad as it gets, the pre-event hype was slightly questioned by members of the media and several experts. Helen does look a little fragile and her efforts to upstage Frankie Bridge on the 'Strictly Come Dancing' weren't considered a major warning sign with regards to the actual fighting performance. However Kate Abdo is willing to give the blonde cutie the benefit of the doubt for now and Helen manages to steal the post-fight attention as well by making more obscene comments about Martine's lacklustre showing tonight and openly challenging Jaime Murray into a fight: "Whenever you're ready, slut! I'm waiting for you!"
Final result: Helen George def. Martine McCutcheon TKO5.
