Kristin Kreuk versus Cassie Scerbo
(Words: Bazz / Results: Lookout!)

Before:  The two flyweights stand at their respective podiums surrounded by press, the de rigueur FCBA security and a cadre of state troopers present at most flyweight bouts just in case.  Both wearing homogeneous outfits bikinis of different colors, gloves and boxing shoes the only real difference is in their own personal styles of sunglasses, Kreuk sporting some tortoise black Oakleys while Scerbo is adorned with a pair of baby blue Hobies with the words TEAM SHARKNADO written on the frames in white.

“You know I think that Cassie has built up a pretty good situation here in the FCBA.  She’s worked out a contract with her pudding company along with her pal/puddinged victim Olivia Munn, she’s announcing all the Asylum events with her other pal The Wiz.  Heck she could just stop fighting and be a millionaire just on her outside activities.   I hope that the edge is still there for what’s important around here, winning fights.  My concentration is on fighting not extracurricular activities and that’s why I’m going to knock those silly chotchkie sunglasses right off of her head tonight.

“I’m glad that Kristin has kept up with my comings and goings and I hope that she’s had a chance to try the new pudding flavor the Munnster and I worked up in the Bazz kitchen called Mango Caramel.  It’s mellow with a kick at the end!  What she failed to mention was that I’ve been more than holding my own in the ring as well.  So don’t worry Kristin I won’t bump into any of the furniture in the ring from lack of activity.  I plan on bopping her around like I have everyone else and one of those bops is going to put her down.  And just so you know, these Sharknado sunglasses are extremely hard to come by.  They’re Hobies.”  Cassie finishes as she makes a point of adjusting her shades for the cameras.

Rd  1 Both girls scamper out quick and get right to it.  Kreuk knocks Scerbo’s head back with her first jab.  Cassie tumbles back a bit and immediately recovering lands a low flying right hook to the midsection causing the commensurate “Oooooph!” to spout from Kristin’s mouth.   Scerbo follows up launching a couple of quick jabs and then retreating to assess the damage she’s done to her opponent.  Kreuk saunters to the left with hands up defensively hoping to avoid more punishment.  Both girls start flicking jabs at each other.  Scerbo looks just a bit more crisp with her technique planting her left leg and zipping some nice stuff at the perplexed Kreuk.  Kristin nowhere near flustered.  She takes some jabs from Scerbo and then jukes in with her own combination then skips out of Scerbo jab range.  Cassie bouncing about too quick to hit when she isn’t engaged.  She steps in and throws a couple of jabs and takes some punishment from another Kreuk combination as the bell rings.  Scerbo looking good out of the gate hops back to her corner with confidence.

Rd  2 Kreuk steps out and begins a familiar scene when one fights Scerbo a futile chase around the ring.  Still she’s able to corner the mercurial flyweight and land some jabs before Cassie flitters away.  It’s more of that throughout the round with Kreuk hunting Scerbo down and throwing some punches in the hopes of landing one.  Meanwhile Cassie is shuffling in and out of range trying to touch up her opponent whenever possible.  Each girl doing what they want.  Kristin steps in with her left leg and throws some impressive jabs.  Scerbo bobbing her head to avoid contact steps to the left and throws a right hand.  Crowd is getting into it as the pace quickens and the girls get to work.  Kristin again on the offensive she pushes in with a jab that misses and then a right hand to finish the combination that lands on Scerbo’s forehead.  Bazz girl takes a step back to regroup while fending off some more Kreuk aggression.  Flyweights trading lightning bolt punches as the bell for the round rings with Kreuk’s performance getting the points.

Rd  3 It’s apparent to the crowd that these girls are just getting warmed up.  They are both in tremendous shape.  Scerbo hasn’t lost a step and is darting in and out of Kreuk’s range dropping a jab or two before Kristin can react.  Meanwhile Kreuk is moving more deliberately with beautiful form bobbing and weaving Joe Frazier style and avoiding Scerbo’s punches.  She’s throwing her own jabs and poking Scerbo often with her own jabs.  It seems clear to the crowd that Kreuk’s protect and attack style is working a bit better than Scerbo’s ability to create mayhem with her speed and then in the confusion create points for herself.  Neither fighter is getting hurt until Kreuk steps in on her left leg jabs and follows with a right hand that wizzes by Scerbo’s face just catching her chin with a smack loud enough to bring the crowd to its feet just as the bell sounds.

While getting worked on in her corner Cassie is forced to endure the always painful but not uncommon Poindexter Del Crunchy stare down.  The big man says nothing while he positions his massive frame a couple of feet in front of Scerbo with his arms crossed staring down at her with a look on his face that would horrify Freddie Krueger.  Cassie listens to Elisabeth Rohm talk and lets her corner refresh her but can’t help but glance up at the Scottish behemoth who is none too happy with the way things are going.  The hairy eyeball routine continues unabated until the bell beginning the next round sounds.  
 
Rd  4 The two fighters exchanging blows at mid ring.  Punches are coming fast and furious when suddenly Cassie having experienced the “hairy eyeball” and not wanting anymore steps in and lights up Kreuk with a well timed combination landing a solid left hand jab to the face followed up with a right hand downward chop to her side.  The painful right hand sends Kristin reeling into the ropes.  Scerbo is on her like Dom Deluise on a hot fudge sundae.  She’s pounding on Kreuk her quickness payng dividends with lefts to the head and rights to the body.  Kreuk covering up against the ropes withstanding the Scerbo onslaught with hands up and body weaving back and forth to avoid the blazing assault.  Up till now Scerbo like a machine drops a shoulder trying to go low with a left.  Kreuk hits back with a quick right to Scerbo’s noggin and dances away.  Kristy is wobbly but won’t fall down.  She’s fighting for survival against Scerbo as the bell rings.  While they walk back to their corners Cassie turns and gives Kreuk a once over assessing the damage down during her dominating round.

Rd  5 Scerbo feeling confident as the two fighters meet at center ring.  She’s had a great round good enough to avoid the dreaded Pointy stare down.  She’s trying things down low now, stalking Kreuk in a crouch and going for the body.  Meanwhile Kreuk is upright trying to take off Scerbo’s head.  Scerbo steps in with a combination to the chest and Kristen’s left side and is met with a right to her head.  Neither girl looking to take a break, to clinch against the ropes, anything to slow the pace.  They’re full on now.  Scerbo crouching again looking for success by hammering the body.  Kreuk taking advantage slugging at Cassie’s head.  Both fighters scoring as the punching becomes a rapid fire offensive on both sides.  Scerbo momentarily backs away jitterbugging her way to center ring with Kreuk in hot pursuit.  Anyone thinking that the Bazz girl is backing down is surprised to see her skip to one side and catch Kreuk with a right hand buggywhip to the side of her midsection that doubles her over in the only real normal speed moment of the round.  Kristin recovers quickly and scores with more jabs to the head.  The bell rings with Cassie walking back to her corner with a puffy eye and bloody nose and Kreuk doubled over to one side from the booming punch thrown by Cassie.  The round delivers the most punishment from each fighter but still ends in a very painful draw.    

Rd  6 It’s Kreuk’s turn to feel good about herself after withstanding the onslaught that was round 4 she was able to stymie Cassie Scerbo somewhat during the previous round of this back and forth fight.  She goes at the Bazz girl with her heavy artillery hoping to cut off another Scerbo tsunami that would probably sweep her right out of the fight.  She steps up, plants and delivers a strong jab and a right roundhouse right.  Scerbo dodges but still catches the jab on her chin and watches Kreuk’s right hand whizz by mere inches from her head.  The early attack seems to ignite Scerbo not willing to cede the momentum.  She counterattacks with a jab, an upper cut and the a quick hop to the right which opens up space for another jab which catches Kreuk on the forehead knocking her back.  Both fighters working hard toe to toe now.  Kristin head down burrowing in on Scerbo with tight jabs and right hand hooks.  Cassie dodging back and forth leaning in with her own jab which is catching Kreuk’s head with regularity.  Crowd loud and boisterous as the fight has really taken off.  Both fighters rock and rolling now.  They’re swinging away.  Kreuk slams a right into Scerbo’s midsection.  Scerbo counters with a two hand combination that knocks Kristin’s head to the side.  Kreuk digging down with her strong jab against a furious attack by Cassie who is scoring with an array of combinations.  The bell sounds and although this is a very close round the goes Scerbo’s direction with the scoring it separates the fighters in terms of momentum.

                    
Rd  7 Kreuk out strong with a flurry of punches delivered as she circles Cassie Scerbo hoping to reign in the pesky speedster.  Each fighter desperate to take control of this fight at this point and Kristin is attempting to make her case with constant jabs to Cassie’s face hoping to pester her into making a mistake which will allow Kreuk to sneak her right hand in for a knock out.  Kreuk moves in slapping Scerbo with a series of combinations pushing her up against the ropes trying to keep her in check.  Yet for Scerbo it’s just a matter of getting an opening no matter how slight and ducking out the side door.  Cassie jitterbugging in space once again.  She’s in her element throwing her punches and darting back out of range to safety.  Still the two pesky flyweights can’t resist going at it toe to toe.  Kreuk slugging it out against Scerbo with some hard punching her head bulled down into defense mode.  Meanwhile slipping in and out going low for some points to the midsection and then switching things up by landing punches to Kreuk’s head.  The two fighters turn into a dancing blur as the punches are being thrown at a pace that can only be seen at a flyweight brawl.  Scerbo’s speed seemingly overcoming Kreuk’s power and devilishly accurate punching.  Cassie lands a jab to Kristin’s forehead knocking her noggin back followed up with a right hook to the ear and KRISTIN’S IN TROUBLE!  Scerbo ducks down quickly faking into the body and a dazed Kreuk takes the bait.  She lowers her head and Scerbo unloads a devastating right hand to her chin and DOWN GOES KREUK!  Scerbo walks away calmly to a neutral corner.  She knows that she devastated Kristin Kreuk with both right hands.  The ref counts out Kreuk who lays collapsed on her side.  IT”S A 7th ROUND KO FOR CASSIE SCERBO!

After:  Cassie checks on Kristin as she is helped over to her corner still a bit under the weather.  They bump gloves as Kreuk receives attention while sitting on her stool.  “That could have gone either way!  She can hit that’s for sure.  You’re going to get hit out there.  There’s just no getting around it but when the blows are that hard you just have to use what you’re good at which for me is to get on my bicycle and make my opponent play hide and seek with me.”  When asked about her plans and if they include another title shot Cassie plays coy.  “You guys know by now that the standard response from a Bazz girl is that we leave that stuff up to Pointy and Rohmmy.  They’re in charge.  Yet with my current ranking, it’s up there, you just never know.”
