Kelly Rohrbach vs. Claire Sinclair
(Queen of the Ice Hotel) (Words: Front Street / Results: Lookout!)
BEFORE:
Neither girl a stranger to this strange setting, and, while blonde beauty Rohrbach, who has yet to taste FCBA defeat, might be the reigning queen, brunette stunner Claire was here long before Rohrbach ever entered the FCBA. "More than three years ago now," says Claire with a shake of the head. "Lima. And, I screwed up. Got too aggressive, because I'm more physical than her, and I got caught. But, this time, I know better. Yes, I'm more physical than Kelly, too, but I won't be sloppy. I'll just work her over, wear her down, and knock her out."
"It's cute, actually," says a smiling Kelly, "That she thinks the likes of HER is going to come in here and take MY title. Not going to happen, bimbo. I'M the queen around here, and that's the way it's going to stay!"
ROUND ONE:
With all that animosity, one would have expected a fast start. But, no. Because Claire is as good as her word. She's not going great guns against the blonde, and Kelly's more than happy to play that game. The long-limbed queen likes to box and wants to stay at distances where she can extend on her punches. So, she does. And Sinclair, despite what the smart money's been saying, lets her do it. The result is three minutes of tactical, ranged boxing. Something you don't often see here at the Ice Hotel. Not that it isn't something you'd want to see because it is. Both women box very well. Both move the feet and heads, move the head and shoulders. They jab to set up crosses, run to get to the right spots, play all the geometrical games you'd expect to see in a match between two good boxers. And, by the time the bell rings, it's clear they've played them equally well. There's nothing in it. The round is drawn, and the cards say 10-10.
ROUND TWO:
Sinclair is a little more aggressive. But, as promised, not sloppy. The brunette apparently thinks she's got the advantage in power over the blonde, and she wants to bring it to bear. She's coming forward now. Slowly. Determinedly. Soundly. Kelly all about having it. She'll give ground to maintain distance, trading canvas for space. She's popping the left as she circles back and right, away from the brunette's power. Claire is working hard to get square, bring heavy leather. Has moments where she does that, forces long exchanges of big punches. And, she mostly gets the better of those. But, it's the blonde who's getting the better of everything else. She's scoring well when they're at the range, when Claire's trying to close and square. And, the points she's piling up during those moments are able to offset what Claire does during the big exchanges. Not by a lot. But, by enough for the queen to grab the second round close and the lead 20-19.
ROUND THREE:
Claire is upping the pressure a bit more. She's boring in on Kelly now, thumping hard left hands ahead of potentially damaging rights. Rohrbach is answering with a jab and backward rotation stuff. Still managing brunette aggression. Meanwhile, Sinclair moving the head well, keeping the gloves high, playing this very, very smart. It's the long game, not the short, and, as such; she's investing leather everywhere she can. There's more body work in this round, as Sinclair takes every opportunity to bury a hook into the toned midsection of Rohrbach, every opening to bang some leather to her ribs. Kelly is handling it all well. She's shipping the damage and responding with plenty of her damaging fire. She's getting work done as the brunette moves in, and, again, holding her own fairly well in the exchanges. The result is, for the third straight round, very close. This time, it goes to Sinclair, and we're even again at 29. ROUND FOUR:
Challenger continues her strategy of steady, sound pressure. Queen remains hers. Box. Manage. Avoid prolonged firefights as much as possible. But. It doesn't always take a firefight. Sometimes, it can be just one shell. One shell that hits a magazine and the situation becomes desperate. Just such a shell lands about a minute into the fourth. It's a sizzling brunette straight right that catches the blonde on the chin and sends her wobbling. And NOW Claire goes after Rohrbach with all guns blazing. She corners the queen and goes to work, hammering body, whacking hard punches with both hands upstairs, buffeting the queen's head back and forth as the leather sticks off her high guard. Kelly in desperate shape. Huns are climbing the battlements. Queen's forces hard-pressed to hold off the invading hordes. But, somehow, the blonde's legs hold up. The bell rings. And, while the queen is looking a bit scuffed, she's still standing. She's also behind for the first time all night, as Claire's grabbed the round full to lead 39-38.
ROUND FIVE:
Queen in retreat now. This isn't the strategic backward circle. It's not quite a rout, either. But, it's closer to the latter than the former. The brunette having her way as she sits down on punches, banging away, driving Kelly back, taking canvas at will. Rohrbach grimly firing back in spots, trying to slow the challenger's offensive down at least. But, Claire isn't slowing. She keeps coming. Until she's stopped. Again, one shell. This time a blistering right-hand counter from Rohrbach, who JUST manages to set her feet, get it off, and get it over the brunette's right glove. BOOM! Claire is GOBSMACKED! And, in that instant, it all changes. Kelly's legs still aren't all the way back, but, despite all that, the Queen rallies her forces for a vicious counterattack. Now, it's the brunette in retreat, taking fire, backing and covering as the blonde goes all in. Soon, Sinclair's trapped on the ropes and getting absolutely brutalized. The referee is looking in as Rohrbach pours on the fire, rocking Claire repeatedly and threatening to send her to the canvas on several occasions. Still, the brunette stays on her feet and the referee allows the beating she's getting to continue to the bell. When it rings, the challenger's looking more than a little shabby and the queen has the round full. But, the cards are even again at 48.
ROUND SIX:
Rohrbach is holding nothing back now. She's after Claire in a big way, boring in on the brunette off the opening bell and letting her have it with both hands. Sinclair backing and covering, trying to weather the storm, but the storm keeps getting worse. Kelly throwing in all the reserves, thumping away, driving Claire back to the ropes and giving her a tremendous beating. The referee is looking in closely as Sinclair continues to take and make. Claire is trying to do enough to hold him off, jabbing back, clinching when she can, but the queen's forces are romping, and there's seemingly nothing the challenger can do to stop the rampaging offensive. About two minutes in, it all becomes too much. Sinclair is staggered by a right hand and sent crumpling to the canvas with a follow-on flurry of no fewer than SIX punches, all of which land to the brunette's head. To her credit, Claire won't give it up. She tries to rise, makes it to her elbows and knees, but no further. The count passes her by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO6 and STILL the Queen of the Ice Hotel is Kelly Rohrbach!
AFTER:
Kelly is positively beaming after her first defense as she gazes across the ring coolly at her challenger, Claire, determined to demonstrate that the Ice Hotel is now HER domain. Claire is stirring in her corner, being roused by her attendants as Rohrbach struts over, gripping Claire's dark tresses to YANK her out from her corner and down to her knees. Kelly snarls as she forces Claire to crawl - out of the ring, out of the Ice Hotel and just pushes her through the revolving door, which might serve as a metaphor for the Queen of the Ice Hotel itself, though for tonight, the revolving door stops with Rohrbach!
Fans, supporters, and fellow models all come out to watch and observe the coronation of Kelly as she smirks, just nudging Claire along on all fours as she shivers in the snow and teeth are chattering. The only thing keeping Sinclair warm for the most part is her rage, which is only enhanced as Kelly continues to send short little kicks and pats to her bottom, urging her forward until she reaches the top of the ramp. Kelly licks her lips as Claire looks over in a daze at Rohrbach, eyes pleading, but Kelly's eyes look down at her - even colder than the weather - then plants her foot across Sinclair's posterior for a hard SHOVE as she goes sprawling down the ramp and landing in an undignified heap at the bottom!
Claire makes a break for the waiting limo as Kelly grins, scooping up snowballs and tossing them out towards Claire, pelting her across her back, thighs and shoulders. Claire turns around to glare at Rohrbach as she opens up the door and receives a snowball RIGHT TO THE FACE - only adding insult to injury as she wipes out the snow and leaves in the limousine with a laughing Kelly strutting back into the Ice Hotel, as it appears her stardom will not be limited to just the beach after all and her reach is now extended even further as Queen of the Ice Hotel...
