TESS VALMORE

LOHAN/MATSUGANE Lohan was dating a Russian scion and I was hoping she would marry him and move somewhere in deep Siberia. Unfortunately, It didn’t happen, so now I have to watch her in the ring. Yeah, I have to take the bad with the good. The bout was even at two and even at four In the fifth, Lohan decked Matsugane. The Japanese girl got to her feet only to be floored a second time and the referee called a halt to the bout.

VIKANDER/M. FOX This was another of those good bouts that was even at the end of two and even at the end of four. In he fifth, Fox worked on Vikander’s body with good effect and then switched to head hunting and a final straight right-left Vikander out on her back

WATSON/BUSH A hard fought bout. The rounds were generally close. Bush had a slight lead at the end of five. In the sixth, Watson got the lead by flooring Bush. Bush, then reeled off the next three rounds to have a good lead going into the final round. Watson needed a knockout to win. She had a good tenth, but didn’t get the knockdown and Bush got the decision

PORTMAN/GRAHAM Graham was the underdog in this bout but for the first five rounds, she looked like a champion having a three point lead over the Hall Of Fame member. Sometimes good things come to an end and so it was. Portman evened the bout taking the next three rounds and floored Graham in the eighth. Graham managed to get to her feet, however, she couldn’t hold off Portman and the bout was stopped giving Portman a TKO win

KENDRICK/CLARK Clark took the first two rounds and Kendrick the next two Clark then went into the lead by winning the next two rounds. Kendrick took control in the seventh handing Cole a beating. Cole was saved by the bell. The bell didn’t save her in the eighth, as a Kendrick right uppercut ended her dreams of victory

HUDGENS/C. COLE Hudgens had a slight lead at the end of four due to a fourth round knockdown. She increased her lead by taking the fifth. Cole tightened up the bout by decking Hudgens in the sixth. Cole had a slight lead going into the final round. Hudgens had a huge tenth flooring Cole who managed to get to her feet just as the bell rang. The final round knockdown gave Hudgens the decision.

NIGRI/RIGBY This was Nigri’s maiden FCBA fight and all was not going well through four.
Nigri finally got on the card in the fifth by flooring Rigby. Nigri poured on the punishment in the sixth and came close to stopping Rigby. Nigri ended the bout in the seventh with a right uppercut to the chin. Nigri wins her first bout by a KO

CHOPRA/LOVATO Chopra was looking good through four as she won three of the four including a knockdown in the third. Lovato came back to take the fifth having Chopra hurt at the end of the round. Lovato decked Chopra with a right hook in the sixth. Chopra managed to get to her feet, but was unable to defend herself and the fight was stopped

HOLLAND/SCOLDELARIO I thought Holland got off to a good start and had a big lead at the end of four. The fifth round was more of a barroom brawl than a boxing match with both being warned by the ref. Scoldelario took the sixth and ended the fight in the seventh with a right cross and left hook

DOBREV/SEYDOUX Dobrev was determined to end her losing steak. Unfortunately it didn’t happen. She did come close. She did have Seydoux ready to go in the second, however, Seydoux was saved by the bell. Seydoux went to the body working on Dobrev’x midsection. By the beginning of the fifth, the tactic had payed off. Seydoux continued working the body until Dobrev went down for a KO Seydoux win

RIDLEY/VANERVOORT Ridley entering the fight undefeated. I had Vandervoort ahead on the cards at the end of five. Vandervoort piled on the punishment in the sixth and had Ridley ready to go in the sixth. Vandervoort, however, couldn’t finish Ridley and it would cost her. Ridley. somehow, started a comeback in the seventh and continued into the eighth when she landed a couple rights to Vandervoort’s jaw that sent her down for the count

VANCAMP/BLUNT After VanCamp took the first, Blunt decked VanCamp in the second and took the third. VanCamp took the fourth wide only to have Blunt take the fifth. In the sixth, VanCamp stopped a Blunt offense with a left counter and then waded in landing a flurry of punches sending Blunt to the canvas for the count

BELLISARIO/HOLT The bout was even at the end of four. Holt managed to win a close fifth, but Bellisario won round six wide. The seventh was all Bellisario who seemed to hammer Holt at will, Bellisario continued to hammer Holt in the seventh until a pair of uppercuts ended Holt’s night on a bad note. Bellisario KO7

SWIFT/MITCHELL I know Swift has been winning fights, but she just didn’t seem like a fighter to me and this was the bout that was going to prove it. Mitchell was making a joke of the bout by taking five of the first six rounds including a knockdown in the sixth and Swift being saved by the bell. Swift was a mess as round seven began, but somehow she managed to stage a comeback and floored Mitchell. In the eighth, both being hurt, Swift managed to come out on top with a left hook that sent Mitchell down to a KO loss

AZALEA/J.STONE A good back and forth bout. I had Azalea with a slight lead at the end of five. The sixth seemed to be going Stones way when Azalea landed a huge shot to Stone’s stomach and down Stone went. Stone tried to get up but didn’t make it by the count of ten

MATSUMOTO/LAWRENCE I had no idea who Matsumoto was, but I soon learned. She gave Lawrence fits for the first four rounds winning three of them. Lawrence had a good fifth, however was still behind. Lawrence seemed have figured Matsumoto out as she pitched a shutout in the sixth The seventh was competitive however Lawrence took control late and landed a couple telling punches to the body that left Matsumoto sitting on the canvas against the ropes and the referee stopped the fight

AMBROSIO/KURKOVA I thought Ambrosio did a good job on her opponent in the first four rounds. Unfortunately for Ambrosio, Kurkova decided to make a fight of it and she did Kurkova hurt Ambrosio twice in the fifth and in the sixth after landing a right to the nose, drove a punch into Ambrosio’s liver area and she went down. She stayed down as the count passed 10

COLE/KROES I thought that on paper this was a mismatch. I was somewhat surprised that Kroes actually won three of the first four rounds. She should have stopped there. From that point until the end it was all Cole. The end came in the seventh, when a big Cole right landed on target and Kroes was done.

MEYNARD/PEREGRYM Meynard was ahead at the end of five, having taken three rounds including flooring Missy in the third. At the end of eight, Meynard still had the lead. Meynard then took the ninth. Peregrym needed a knockout in the tenth to win. She got it. I hard punch to the stomach followed by an uppercut sent Meynard down to the deck and she stayed there as the count passed her by

DECKER/KERR Decker had the lead at the end of five by taking three rounds. She extended her lead by flooring Kerr in the sixth. Decker also won the seventh and now had a huge lead. Kerr came back to put Decker on her knees in the eighth, but was still far behind. In the ninth, Kerr again put Decker on her knee, but then I was shocked when the referee didn’t even bother to count. He waived the bout off. A little early it appears to me

M. RYAN/ROMJIN. One of the two welter fights on the card, this one featuring one who is 44 years of age. Namely Romjin. Romjin took the first round, but from that time on I thought Ryan won every round going into the fifth. The bout ended in the fifth as a Ryan uppercut knocked Romjin out cold

STRAHOVSKI/THERON This was a surprise bout as Theron stepped in to sub for George.
I hadn’t intended to review a Theron fight however, this happens to be one of the big upsets of the year. There was no way that the aging, worn out GOAT was going to beat Strahovski, but at the end of the bout it was Theron who was left standing. The bout was even the end of five rounds. Yvonne won three rounds but Charlize managed to put Strahovski on her knee in the third. Theron took the lead by winning rounds six and seven, again putting Yvonne on her knees in the seventh Strahovski had a huge ninth decking Theron who barely managed to finish the round. Somehow Theron managed to recover between rounds. Early in the tenth, Theron landed a looping right and it was all downhill for Strahovski from there until a right hook sent her down for the count. I wasn’t too happy with the post fight but the old walk of shame is about as mild a humiliation as there is. A throw back to old days of Theron greatness

KLOSS/G. HADID New blood Tournament Final I had the bout even at four and it was still even at the end of six. The seventh went to Kloss who landed a right to Hadid’s left eye that had it swelling by the end of the round. Kloss continued to work on the eye in the eighth finally ending the bout with a pair of left hooks that left Hadid out on the canvas

ROHRBACH/SINCLAIR For the Queen Of The Ice Hotel The bout was even at the end of three. Sinclair took the lead by winning the fourth only to have Rohrbach even it up in the fifth.
The fight ended in the sixth when Rohrback staggered Sinclair with a right and then landed flurry of punches that put Sinclair down for the count

HALE/SCERBO For the Flyweight title A good fight. Hale took the first round and then Scerbo took the lead by winning the next two. In the Fourth, Hale decked Cassie and extended her lead by winning the fifth. Scerbo struck back by flooring Hale in the sixth, only to have Hale win the seventh and extend her lead. The eighth was all Scerbo as Hale barely survived the round. She didn’t survive the ninth as a Scerbo continued the beating ending the fight with a right hook that left Hale down for the count. Scerbo is the new flyweight champion. Three cheers for my BFF

DANES/MCADAMS Another good championship bout, this one for the bantam crown. The contest was even at the end of two, even at the end of four and even at the end of six. The sixth was a particularly a good round for Danes. Danes took the lead by heaping on the punishment and had McAdams in a bad way at the end of seven. About a minute into the eighth, Danes landrd a huge right to McAdams’ jaw and the fight was over. Danes retains the bantam title

LIVELY/BROOK For the lightweight title the only reason Brook got this fight ws that she had won three previous bouts against Lively, the last one being four years ago It was a back and forth fight being even at the end of two and evan at the end of four. The fifth was quite a round with Lively going down early and Brook going down late and being saved by the bell. The bell wouldn’t save Brook in the sixth, as a couple Lively right hands put Brook down for the count. Lively retains the title

WILKINSON/PALLETT (JMD) WILKINSON

ATWELL/HOOPES (JMDD) ATWELL

MCMAHON/T. BANKS (JMDD) MCMAHON

TERRELL/J. L COLEMAN (JMD TITLE) COLEMAN

MCKINNEY/GOODWIN (JMDD TITLE) MCKINNEY
