BEFORE:

"Katy's all about being physical," says Natalie with a smile. "Well. She hasn't SEEN physical until she gets into the ring with ME."

"No doubt about it," says Katy with a nod. "This girl is coming in here to take the fight to Katy Perry. She just doesn't know what happens when you try to DO that. But, she's going to find out."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Out Of My Mind' by CFO$, and that's the familiar theme song of the lovely redhead from Los Ingobernales, Natalie Eva Marie..."

McCarthy: "I'm not sure how this girl got booked here. She actually HAS an FCBA win. In fact, she has TWO of them and actually has a WINNING RECORD. Weirdo must have been absolutely BOMBED on that swill he drinks to sign THIS one..."

O'Dell: "Natalie down the aisle and into the ring and helped off with the robe by the Los Ingobernales corner crew. And, let me tell you she can fill out that yellow bikini..."

Tess: "Well, Mac?"

McCarthy: "I don't believe I'm saying this...but she just MIGHT be centerfold material..."

Cassie: "You know, we've never HAD snow in Philly in July, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a foot of it out there when we leave..."

O'Dell: "Aaaannnnd, that's 'California Gurls' pounding through the arena, and that can only mean that the lovely singer of that hit tune, 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry, is on her way to the ring..."

Tess: "Plenty of stakes here for Perry. She's trying to stay in the mix for the lightweight titles, and, she needs a win here to do that."

O'Dell: "Katy wasting no time getting into the ring. She's helped off with the robe to reveal that red number we've seen before...and the crowd still likes it..."

Cassie: "Quite the disrobe we've just had, Jenny O."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. And, we're about ready to go. Let's get some picks. Tess favors Katy. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Eva Marie's won fights in the FCBA. AND she's got a centerfold body. She'll beat Perry."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess..."

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. And. there's not a lot of mystery about where this is going. We're meeting right in the center of the ring and going at it. Both these fighters have physical styles, and they're both bringing it right now. Lots of body work early, and it's going to TAKE a lot of work on bodies like these to have an effect..."

Tess: "This is the thing we've seen from Katy. We know she can box and box well. We also know that if a fighter wants to bang with her, she'll bang."

O'Dell: "And, those are the terms early. in tight and at middle distances. Lots of hooks being exchanged in there. Some serious punches landing to both head and body. Everybody shipping the shell very well for the moment, but, two girls who hit like this, that could change at any time. Nice short hook to the ribs from Perry."

McCarthy: "And, Natalie doesn't back up a step. This kid keeps that up, she'll do just what I said and win the fight."

O'Dell: "No sign of retreat from anyone at the moment. Katy digging to the ribs now and Natalie answering back in kind. Both fighters just determined to impose will here, and nobody willing to be imposed ON. Ten seconds left in the opening stanza. Couple of more body shots exchanged to the bell. Close to Perry."

Cassie: "I'm not sure we need to HAVE scorecards if this is going to continue, but, it's Perry 10-9."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Right back to banging in the second. Not exactly operating in a phone booth here, though, as, again, we're moving from short to middle distances. Both fighters moving the feet some, working the angles, but there's no question the plan here is to to out-physical the girl in front of you, and both fighters are bringing plenty of heavy fire to the fight,"

McCarthy: "This is why Perry will never be anything special. If Mac The Knife were fighting a girl like this, she'd be all about movement, all about making her fight YOUR fight instead of fighting HERS."

Cassie: "You mean like that time you stood toe-to-toe with Neve Campbell for ten rounds and lost nine of them?"

McCarthy: "I did...SHE...I WAS ROBBED...SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Two things. One, drink up, boys. And, two, if you had 'Mac Tells The Wrong Person To Shut Up' on your bingo card, mark your square. Meanwhile, back in the ring, the banging and body work continuing. Nobody shrinking away from anything as both fighters work hard with hooks and uppies and the occasional jab/cross when there's some distance."

Tess: "They're on the other side of the ring right now and you can hear those body shots like they're in the corner above us."

O'Dell: "Coming into the final thirty seconds now. Nobody interested in doing anything but continuing the hard, heavy work. Thumping hook to Natalie's ribs, and Eva Marie responds with a nice one-two to the head. Katy hooks body again and the two tie up. Referee breaks, but there's the bell. Close to Eva Marie."

Tess: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Into the third and the grinding, physical stuff continuing. Fighters right in one another's grills early. In close, hooking body and then the head, but, again, we aren't in a phone booth. Ladies getting to middle distances, then back to close range. Both moving the feet, angling, looking for good spots to punch from."

McCarthy: "This Eva Marie is impressing me more and more, Jenny. She's not backing down an inch."

O'Dell: "That, she is not. And, of course, Perry isn't either. Katy never one to shy away when things get hot and heavy, and she's absolutely not doing that now. Ladies tying up. Perry shoving free, and Natalie landing a solid right hook and following quickly with a good flurry. That backed Perry up."

Cassie: "But, she's right back forward, Jenny. Like Tess said earlier, if a girl wants to bang with Katy, she'll bang."

O'Dell: "And, that's exactly what she's doing as we roll into the final seconds of the third. Ladies tying up again. Haven't really seen much of thise considering all the close work, but we're seeing some now. Perry shoves off, lands a short right. Eva Marie responds with a right hook and there's the bell. Another close one. Natalie."

Tess: "And, Eva Marie's on top 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Into the fourth and Eva Marie right after Perry. Katy not going anywhere, banging back at the redhead. Natalie returns fire and it's ON! We are seeing the biggest exchanges of the fight right now. This is hammer-and-tongs stuff in there, ladies, with big bombs being exchanged and both fighters landing plenty..."

Cassie: "Don't know how long this can keep up without something giving..."

O'Dell: "We may be about to find out. Nobody holding anything back right now. Bomb after bomb landing and NATALIE WOBBLED BY A RIGHT HOOK! Perry staggers Eva Marie and quickly bangs her back against the ropes. The former champ looking for the finisher now. Eva Marie trapped against the cables and taking withering fire!"

McCarthy: "Holding up pretty well, though, Jenny. She's firing back in spots, not giving in."

O'Dell: "No question of that, Mac. Natalie hanging on grimly as we go down the stretch. She's taking a licking, but she's definitely continuing to do the ticking. Twenty seconds to go in the fourth. Perry taking some body now. Apparently doesn't think she's going to get the redhead out of there, so she's going to get some attrition investment done to the bell. And, there it is. Perry wide in the fourth."

Tess: "And, we're even again at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins with Perry on the attack. She's backing up Eva Marie with some bludgeoning shot. Natalie not looking to have the legs all the way back yet, as Katy's grabbing control of this thing UNTIL NATALIE SHAKES HER WITH A RIGHT HAND! Eva Marie a BOOMING counter and Perry's covering up!"

McCarthy: "I LOVE this kid! There's no back down in her!"

O'Dell: "We certainly haven't seen any to this point, and we're not going to see any now. Katy giving ground before the onslaught. Natalie scoring with both hands, looking to find the punch that finishes this thing and gives her a huge win over a former champion. Perry keeping the guard high, playing for time."

Cassie: "She's staying off the ropes, which is the key here. Not allowing a full clean up."

O'Dell: "That, she is not, but Eva Marie doing plenty of scoring and, frankly, plenty of damage. Thirty seconds to go in this round. Perry jabbing back a little more now, but Natalie throwing a blizzard of suppressive fire that gets her right back on the defensive. Ten seconds to go. Perry finally trapped on the ropes and Natalie fires away to the bell. Eva Marie wide in the fifth."

Tess: "And, she's back on top, 48-47."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "And, now it's Eva Marie on the attack as the round begins. Natalie looking to consolidate gains from the fifth, but she's meeting stiff resistance immediately. Katy holding ground, banging back. Natalie not going to press the issue at the moment. Settles in at middle distances and we're back to working on fairly even terms."

Tess: 'This is one of the things that makes Katy a top contender. She was able to shake the last round off quickly and get right back into this thing."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. Perry holding her own very well after getting taken to the proverbial woodshed last round. Natalie working hard, though, banging head and body, just as the brunette is doing. Redhead working over the ribs right now and Perry responds with a HARD one-two to the head, but Eva Marie holds her ground."

McCarthy: "This girl is going places. If she weren't already under contract, I'd be on the phone to Sceej right now. Tough as nails. Smoking body. She reminds me of ME."

O'Dell: "Thirty seconds to go in the sixth. Natalie really concentrating downstairs right now. Perry working up and down, spending equal time on both targets. Neither lady managing to grab much of an advantage in this stanza. Ten seconds left. HARD right from Katy and there's the bell. Another close round. This one to Perry."

Cassie: "And, we're even at 57."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "No change in the terms as we begin the seventh. Ladies gathering at the center of the ring and getting it on. Again, moving from short to middle distances. Everything sound. Not much slop. But, a lot of heavy leather being exchanged both to head and body. And, again, both fighters shipping it pretty well."

Cassie: "I said earlier that I didn't know how long this could go on without something giving. Well, nothing has, which tells you just how sturdy these two are."

O'Dell: "No question about it, from what I've seen. There's a SOLID left from Natalie and KATY NEARLY DROPS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND! Perry absolutely GOBSMACKS Eva Marie with a straight right! Natalie stumbling backward, runs into the ropes and that might have been the only thing to stop her from going down!"

McCarthy: "STOP JINXING THIS KID, SCABBO!"

O'Dell: "And Perry is absolutely all in now, ladies. She's letting Natalie have it along the ropes. Eva Marie hanging on desperately. She's clinching now, but Katy stacks her right back up and helps herself to some bread basket. Natalie grabbing Katy's head, pulling it down. Perry shoves away and NAILS Eva Marie with a right hand! Natalie wobbled again but there's the bell!"

Tess: "Might have come in a nick of time, Jenny, because the ref wasn't going to let that go on much longer. Katy wide. But it's still close. 67-66."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Katy looking to close this thing out now. She's backing Natalie up off the bell. We saw this same thing in the fifth, an Natalie was able to flip the script on the former champion, but Perry doesn't look at all concerned that we might see a repeat at this point. She's going after Eva Marie in a big way."

Cassie: "When you have a chance to finish, you've got to take it. And, Perry's got a chance."

O'Dell: "Katy a heavy flurry. Natalie backed up toward the ropes. Eva Marie trying to hold ground, but can't get it done at the moment. Perry just continuing to up the pressure. Redhead not wilting, but she can't hold the brunette off at the moment. Right hand, Perry, and Natalie backed up again..."

McCarthy: "Kid's doing a little more jabbing now. Trying to solidify the front."

O'Dell: "But not having a lot of...DOWN GOES EVA MARIE! A straight right from Perry and Natalie crashes to her back!"

McCarthy: "Scabbo, don't you DARE..."

Cassie: "Turn out the liiiiiggghhhhtttsss. The party's ooooovvverrrrr...."

O'Dell: "Perry to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Natalie rolls to her belly at seven. Eight. Nine. She can't go any further! TEN! And it's OVER! That quickly, it's over! And your winner by KO8 is 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry!"

Tess: "That was a heck of a fight."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Katy Perry, and, Katy, some really physical stuff in there."

Katy (nodding): "Not surprised. She can hit and she can take a hit. But, she's also athletic. Moves very well. Quick. She has a lot of tools, Tess. All she needs is some rounds."

Tess: "Big win for you, though. What's next?"

Katy (shrugging): "I'm usually up for just about anything. If a girl wants to dance, I'm ready, you know?"
