BEFORE: Zara Holland's BBU debut proved to be nothing short of a disaster as the disgraced Miss GB was brutally stopped by Geordie Shore's Charlotte Crosby last month. However the Yorkshire blonde vows to make amends for that horror show as she takes on one of the most experienced - albeit lacklustre - bantamweights in Amy Childs here in London tonight.
Of course Amy Childs followed Zara's terrible debut on BBU TV very closely and tells Denise van Outen she will "whup that slutty bimbo into submission even quicker than Crosby did". That's a bold statement for someone who enters the ring with a 5-12 record but it's worth noticing the Essex-born redhead has won both of her last fights against Charlotte McKenna and Billie Faiers so one might say she's on a roll!
Zara Holland wears a light blue bikini set and white gloves. Long blonde hair straight. Amy Childs wears a black bikini set and red gloves. Long dark red hair straight, curled at the bottom. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1: Zara failed to embrace Crosby's aggressive tactics on her debut and allthough Amy is anything but a slugger herself, she tries to repeat the Geordie's heroics by throwing a bucketload of punches in the early going. The blonde looks a little uncertain at first but maintains the mid distance and forces the redhead to focus on her precision rather the sheer effort. Single punches dominate the second minute before Amy finally secures a solid connection with the blonde's face when she whacks her between her gloves and finds the nose to reel Holland onto the ropes. However the Essex lass fails to close the pageant winner down thereafter and Zara does well to avoid further damage in a steady mid distance defense.
Round 2: Denise van Outen reminds the BBU TV viewers that when two potential jobbers square off in the ring, the one who struggles with her defense usually ends up flat on her back. It's never about the superior offense but about the hittable jobber attire. However it's too early to call Holland a jobber yet; Charlotte Crosby was on a Duracell diet following her Geordie grudge bout vs Vicky Pattison and caught Zara off guard on her debut. Amy has struggled to make her mark despite years of trying and a lacklustre aerial attack in the second serves as the ultimate blueprint. Allthough she throws another jabbing rally to push the pageant on her heels, she can't steer her shots spot on target and soaks up a late response from the blonde who slowly but surely finds her feet in the ring now that she avoids the Crosby-like rapid fire.
Round 3: This is not as exciting as the Pattison/Kavanagh opener but Zara earns her boxing stripes the hard way as she allows the redhead to pound her on the midriff before a swift uppercut slams her on the chin. She wobbles back to the ropes but Amy needs to improve her footwork if she's to dominate her retreating opponent in a more efficient way. Zara avoids the close range slugging and bombs away from the back foot, those are fruitless strikes but Childs has taken her share of pounding in her cumbersome BBU career to date so she becomes too wary of them and slows her attacks in the final minute basically letting the Yorkshire blonde off the hook. No high marks from van Outen for that performance!
Round 4: Amy finally tracks Zara down in close range but as she bounces off the gloves in a stubborn uppercut attack, the pageant winner blasts her across the liver area with a lightning quick effort and moves up to split the high guard for a good measure. Amy scowls in anger but leans on the blonde only to eat another uppercut from close range and a nasty follow up on the temple moments later. She wobbles forward and almost crashes into the blonde's rack but quickly gets whooped back onto her heels when Holland rocks her with a left cross on the nose. Childs needs to backpedal out of danger but just doesn't have the agility to do it so Zara loops a fine hook on the temple and tears into the redhead's jugs with another left hook. Ugh! Amy wobbles forward and slumps against the blonde's shoulder but Zara buries more drilling shots in the ribcage and makes the Essex lass scream out in pain. Actually this only fuels the blonde's attacks and she pummels Amy back to the ropes before signing off her best round to date with another nasty uppercut that slumps an aching Childs on the ropes at the bell.
Round 5: Zara turns the table on the older girl with a steady jabbing assault up the middle and Amy simply tries to avoid the heat rather than respond in a convincing manner. Denise van Outen saw this coming from way back and smiles in the booth; she was the last person to support the TOWIE brigade and now Zara - as trashy as her own character is following the sexual romp on 'Love Island' - has all the tools to succeed in BBU whereas Childs is a well-known struggler who only happened to catch equally lacklustre McKenna & Faiers at a good time. Whatever the case, it's Holland stalking the older girl now - but again, the precision just isn't there yet and as spooked as Amy looks out there following the fourth round slump, the Hull tigress can't land that huge punch to put her away before the bell. Van Outen is having a good laugh in the booth but the Wembley Arena seems to admire Zara's efforts to make amends for the Crosby fiasco. Either this or the audience is filled with 'Love Island' viewers!
Round 6: No love lost here though as Holland ROCKS her opponent with a heavy right hand that bursts the redhead's lips when another one from the left finds the target again! Amy's guard just isn't up to par here again and that's an old story indeed. Zara manages to stick extra leather up the middle and that's a welcomed change following erratic sighting for majority of the contest however the biggest dent to Childs' hopes comes when the blonde wrenches her on the liver area and bumps back into then ropes through classic jug flexing dig. Ugh! Amy almost loses her footing alltogether but dekes away at the last moments from a hooking drive... only to miss her own response and soak up immediate cleavage assault thereafter! Holland must have been browsing some JMD tapes before as she uppercuts the redhead's mounds to stuff her in the corner before more piercing menace bruises the ribcage and slumps Amy with on jelly knees. The Essex lass gasps for air and tries to clinch herself to safety but she eats a left/right combo on the mouth instead and looks ready to check oit when the bell salvages her pride for the very last time.
Round 7: Not much left in the Essex tank here and perhaps those sexual endeavours on 'Love Island' have boosted Holland's physical shape in more ways than one! She makes short work of Amy's high guard and clubs her mouth into a bloody mess after a hectic swarming assault that leaves the redhead trembling and moaning her heart out come the minute mark. The older girl just slumps butt-in-ropes and fails to even raise her arms high enough while Zara buries her under a barrage of leather and inflicts moe facial wounds on the otherwise pretty redhead. Uh-oh! Amy's eyes bawl out to the orbit after 90 seconds of non-stop pounding and allthough Holland can't knock her down for the count, the Essex ship has sailed! THE REF STEPS IN and hauls the disgraced pageant winner off her prey before hugging a semi-conscious redhead and escorting her to the medical crew. TKO7 Zara Holland!!!
AFTER: This wasn't as explosive fight as the Pattison/Kavanagh war of attrition but Zara Holland emerged as a worthy winner and put Denise van Outen's jobber concerns to rest for the time being! Allthough still short of a devastating punch - even against such a hittable opponent like Childs - she mauled the Essex redhead into exhaustion and battered her into a standstill come the seventh round. She never had a chance to exploit her conditioning supremacy against Charlotte Crosby but she easily outlasted Amy tonight and may well yet spring a surpise of two down the stretch. However van Outen suggests the Yorkshire lass to take it easy from here; the fellow 'Love Island' cast member Cara De La Hoyde sounds like a perfect choice for her next fight!
Meanwhile it's business as usual for the unfortunate Amy; she still looks attractive enough to warrant further BBU work but it's back to the loser category and one must wonder how long will she last around the league with such a woeful defense? It's a riddle even the Kear's Kats head trainer Gail Kim can't solve at the moment!
Final result: Zara Holland def. Amy Childs TKO7.
