SHAY MITCHELL VS PRIYANKA CHOPRA
Results: Lookout   Writing: Archer
Shay: 29 YO, 5’7 ½ (1.71 m), 13-17-0 since 2011, Pretty Little Punchers
Priyanka: 34 YO, 5’6 ½ (1.69 m), 1-3-0 since 2015, Hawkeye International

Before: Two exotic beauties seem quite eager to have at each other. Both coming off losses in the most recent PPV: Shay losing to Taylor Swift and Priyanka falling to Demi Lovato. Clearly both want to get back on the winning path. Both fighters in silk blouses (white for Shay, a shimmering purple for Priyanka. Black knee-length skirts for both.
Priyanka up first to the podium: “I consider myself to be in a critical position. No, no one at HISC has said anything, but, my record is not what they—or I—want. I need to start winning and it has got to start with this fight. That this is a fight on the beach is no matter. Back in Bollywood, I fought many times on the beach and won. I see no reason I can’t do that here as well.” (She gives Shay a fiery glare and marches back to her seat. Shay returns the glare with an icy hard glare of her own.)

Shay takes the podium. Her manner is calm, but her voice is steely with determination: “It has been pointed out by certain observers that I lack consistency in my fighting—for every fight I win—I seem to lose the next. Actually it’s worse than that—I am 4 losses under .500. I am here to tell you all that erasing that deficit is my new goal and my first step in achieving that goal is beating that Indian interloper over there. It should be obvious by now she doesn’t long here, but since she seems slow to grasp that—I’ll just have pound my point home to her. Get ready, lady, you are going to be eating beach sand before I’m done with you!”

Priyanka’s jaw has dropped and her face suffused with fury: “How dare you talk to me like that you—you—cobra! I will bury you in that beach! No one gets away with talking to me like that!”

“No you’re the cobra, I’m the mongoose who’ll take you out,” Shay retorted.

That does it! Priyanka comes rocketing out of her chair and tackles Shay. They crash into the stage curtains and struggle fiercely as they get wrapped up in the curtains, Screams, ripping sounds and the sound of blows landing can be heard. Security has to rush out and entangle them from the curtains. Both ladies have their blouses ripped open, hair demolished and skirts hiked up to mid-thigh. They are dragged away from each as another FCBA press event descends into a catfight and interest in the fight skyrockets.

The day of the fight finds Shay Mitchell in a white one-piece suit cut high in the hips with a plunging neckline. White gloves with black laces. Shay’s hair piled on her in a top knot, She struts confidently into the ring. Then Priyanka Chopra makes her appearance. She’s in blue piece trimmed with a gold. Golden gloves and a golden ribbon that secures her dark hair in a battle braid. She gives Shay a look of contempt as they meet in the center of the sandy ring.

“Perhaps you were looking a beauty contest,” Priyanka sneers, “I used to be in them too—and you really don’t have the class for a Miss Universe level pageant.”

Shay tenses: “And you don’t have the class to beat me in this ring. Get ready for that mouthful of sand. Hope you find it tasty.”

Priyanka lunges for Shay, but the referee holds her back: “Ladies! Save it for the fight—or I’ll DQ you both and you can explain your selves to your managements.”

This threat brings a quick, if sullen silence to the angry brunettes, and the instructions go off quickly. Shay and Priyanka give a final glare to each other (prudently the referee has skipped the glove touching) and march to their corners. The bell rings…

R1: Priyanka comes in hard, though not recklessly on Shay. She goes right for the Canadian beauty’s chest with crushing straight rights and lefts, then follows up with swatting left and right blows. Shay is stung, but fires right back into Priyanka’s chest with answering jabs. Two circle each other as they widen the battle to belly and rib action, Then there is flurry of head punching in which both fighters get their heads banged, but Shay better able to come back and find Priyanka’s jaw for some head-swiveling punches. Priyanka trying to shake off the blows and covers up her face as Shay hammers at the opponent’s belly. Priyanka jabbing back and the two fight hard to the bell, but judges give the round to the PLP fighter by a close count.

R2: Priyanka right back in there against Shay and they swirl their way around the sand with flying punches. Even back and forth action, but then Priyanka scores with some hard shots into Shay’s ribs, then scores against with some hard-driven hooks to Shay’s belly. Shay shaken by the body work, is slow to counter and Priyanka then goes after the Canadian’s face. Shay falls back with reddened, swellings around her eyes and cheekbones. Shay is jabbing steadily, but it’s not keeping Priyanka off and Shay is left looking stunned as the round ends. No surprise that the stanza is awarded to Priyanka by a wide margin.

R3: Priyanka again on the attack and she quickly has Shay on the defensive. Priyanka again finds the ribs a good target and she’s soon got them tenderized. Shay hunching up, trying to protect her aching ribs, but now Priyanka going back to smacking up Shay’s face.  Area around Shay’s eyes swelling and discolored as are her cheekbones. Shay starting to look anxious as Priyanka keeps up the pressure, though she manages to avoid an actual knockdown punch. Still, Shay looks a bit shaky going back to her corner. Priyanka smiling grimly as she knows she just won another round wide.

R4: Stern talking to from PLP trainer Danielle Harris between rounds and Shay Mitchell comes out with more aggressiveness this round. Shay meets the in-coming Priyanka and she manages to strike at the HISC fighter’s face early and often. Priyanka not willing to back off, continues to trade with Shay, aiming mainly at the PLP fighter’s body, but results aren’t effective. Shay moving around more, not such a  good target and her leather is busting up Priyanka’s timing and ability to set her punches. Late in the round, Priyanka makes a a grinding driving, putting her head down and just pounding Shay’s midsection, Shay banging away at the sides of Priyanka’s head. They fight to the bell and the referee has to push them apart to stop the punching. Judges give it to Shay Mitchell, but Priyanka managed to cut the margin to “close”.

R5: Priyanka picks up where she left off, she ducks her head down and goes after Shay’s body with an all-out attack. Punches being landed are strong, Shay driven up on her toes more than once, but she keeps standing and finally she able to duck away. Priyanka pursues and tries to drive Shay to the ropes, Shay fighting hard to prevent this happening and scores hard to Priyanka chin to discourage her. Priyanka shakes off the chin shot and goes right back at Shay, but Shay’s defensive work much better, Priyanka stubbornly keeps coming in and Shay again finds Priyanka’s chin with her leather. Priyanka pounding back to Shay’s body though her punches are lacking power. Round still goes to Priyanka, but Shay makes it close and Priyanka looks more than a little shaky getting back to her corner.

R6: Priyanka slow off her stool and not aggressive as the new round gets going. Shay spots an opening early and manages a couple of quick right uppercuts to the chin. Priyanka’s head knocked back and she covers up. Shay swiftly attacks Priyanka’s body, trying to shake loose that upper guard, she has Priyanka in steady retreat as she just pounds the HISC fighters from waist to sternum and back again. Priyanka’s breasts getting special attention as Priyanka flounders onto the ropes, sitting on the middle strand as Shay hurls a storm of leather into her opponent’s pinned body. Priyanka grabs Shay in a clinch and they dance out to mid ring before referee can separate them. Shay goes right back to work clout Priyanka to the belly and trying to bang past her gloves to reach her face.  Shay can’t break Priyanka desperate defense of her head and face, but she wins the round in a shutout. Priyanka rubbery legged now as she gropes her way back to her stool.

R7: Killer Shark look on Shay Mitchell’s face as she goes after the clearly wounded Priyanka Chopra this round. Priyanka still desperately trying to shield her head, but Shay just turning Priyanka’s midsection into a human workout bag. Priyanka tries to retreat, but shaky legs are not helping in this and Shay swarms in again with a fresh wave of belly punching. Last to causes Priyanka to lurch forward, doubled up and Shay able to send a cracking right into her opponent’s temple. LIGHTS OUT! Priyanka Chopra goes face first-into the sand and lays there groaning. Shay to the neutral corner as the referee starts counts.  Priyanka manages to raise herself on her elbows, but she then collapses onto her side and can only listen helplessly as the referee count reaches the magic “…TEN!”

The Winner: Shay Mitchell KO7!

After: Shay Mitchell, her glovers removed, gleefully bounces across the sand to push Priyanka’s sweaty face into the sand and then pull it back. Priyanka spits out mud and gives Shay a blast of Indian cursing. Shay just rubs muddy sand into Priyanka mouth and makes her spit it out again.

“Not tasting so good?” Shay sneers. “I TOLD you I would make you eat sand and I did!”

Another burst of Indian cursing (with some Anglo-Saxon mixed in). Shay hoists Priyanka up and gives her a kick in the butt. Priyanka shoots between the ring ropes and ends up crawling away towards the HISC dressing room tent. Shay laughing then turns away to accept the congratulations of teammates Troian Bellisario and Hayley Atwell.
“Well, it’s sure a lot better when you win,” Shay tells press, “step one of my goal is accomplished. The next step is winning two fights in a row. Before this is over you will all be calling me ‘Ms. Consistency’!”

Priyanka Chopra is furious in the post fight: “She is an evil creature! She had no call to humiliate me like that! I fought honorably and I deserved to be shown some respect. Now I make it by business not only to bring her down, but help in any way I can to bring shame and humiliation on that collection of she-wolves she fights with!”

(Comments Pretty Little Puncher Communication Director Autumn Reeser: “Now we’re the ‘She-Wolves of the FCBA?!’ We’ve never been so flattered! If she or the rest of those HISC has-beens want more from us—we’re always ready!)

The pre-fight antics surprised a lot of people. Neither Shay or Priyanka have been noted for letting things turn into an actual catfight, but that may have simply reflexed how much was at stake for the two of them. Both needed a win and it was Shay Mitchell who got it. It was back and forth early on, but Shay seized control of the fight in R6 with that shutout. R7 finished the job. It will be important to Shay’s future that she win her next fight and break her pattern of inconsistency. Meanwhile, Priyanka’s FCBA woes worsen and fans have to wonder how much patience the suits at HISC will have after this.
