TESS VALMORE

MARTINEZ/MACK Martinez had a slight lead at the end of four. After taking the fourth, Mack hurt Martinez in the fifth. Martinez had not completely recovered at the beginning of the sixth, and Mack came out to end the fight, which she did late in the round with a right hook that put Martinez down for the count

RAYMUND/PINK This was Raymund’s first FCBA fight. She won the first round as she managed to put some combinations together. Pink came back and took the second and the third. Pink, then hurt Raymund in the fourth to take a substantial lead. Pink was well on her way to winning the fifth, when Raymund landed a right hook and Pink went down and was unable to beat the count. The result was termed a massive upset. I don’t disagree with that. This is probably the bantam upset of the year.

UTGAARD/DEELEY Deeley took the first round. Have you noticed how often the visiting fighters at the Asylum take the first round? Utgaard won the second to even the fight. The bout was still even at the end of four. Deeley had never won a fight at the Asylum and she still hasn’t. In the fifth, Utgaard landed a huge right hand and Deeley immediately imitated a carpet for the count of ten

MCCURDY/MEESTER This was one of the better fights staged at the Asylum. For once, the Front Street fighter took the first round only to have McCurdy even the bout in the second. The fight was even at the end of four with Meester having McCurdy hurt in the fourth. McCurdy hurt Meester in the fifth, and Meester floored McCurdy in the sixth. McCurdy then won the next three rounds and the fight was even going into the last round. In the tenth, the two decided to stand and trade. The punching went Meester’s way and McCurdy went down and failed to beat the count.

RAMBIN/SPIRIDAKOS Spiridakos took the first two rounds, but by round four Rambin had managed to even up the fight. Spiridakos decked Rambin in the fifth and won the sixth to take a big lead. Rambin managed to win the seventh, to cut her opponents lead. In the eighth, Spiridakos lunged forward and right into a Rambin hook that staggered Spiridakos. Rambin, then landed a flurry of punches and Spiridakos went down and stayed down

RIHANNA/KESHA The bout was even at the end of two. Rihanna surged into the lead by flooring Kesha in the third and also taking the fourth. Kesha hurt Rihanna in the fifth and also took the sixth. Rihanna still had the lead going into round seven. In the seventh, Kesha sent Rihanna to the canvas with a left hand. Rihanna managed to get to her feet only to eat a overhand left a minute later and the bout was over
