Before: Fighters in polar opposite positions: Haley coming off a blowout win in the previous heat, oddsmakers already have the second place slot earmarked for her. Debby having to quickly recover from second-best in a Fight of the Year candidate, best she can do is play spoiler. “And I’m fine with that! I’ve been doing this for four years, and I’m not going to let this nobody from nowhere waltz over me!”

Haley unrepentant: “I’m sorry I took the time to know what I was doing before making my debut. It’s a shame Debby didn’t, but she’s going to give everybody else our age a valuable lesson in doing your preparation if nothing else!”

R1: Determined fighters meet midring: Haley steps into a short right to pit of the stomach, eats a short right to jaw and they're in tight, mouth on shoulder, a-bumpin' and a-gruntin'. Sturdy torsos squirming to tuck or shrug in body shots & wedge little chops into heaving jugs. Never a lot of separation - girls leaning into each other, pushing on one another - curvy legs spread wide, energetic backsides tense with the constant need to stamp and hold ground. Tough to score, but Orrantia IS pushing her way forward, outdigging Ryan, claiming a small surplus against Debby's plump jugs. Bell: girls still bunched up, working - ref pulls 'em apart.


R2: Tight punching, good form as women step close, get off tidy, duck down and cover up. Haley stuffing hooks to Debby's rack, then bumping her off. Ryan hooking Orrantia's tummy, then going rack with her hooks as well, both tightening up, getting shoulders into compact strokes. Haley intent on breaking down Debby’s body deploying stubby right hands to gut, winning grunts from the Bama girl. Ryan bumping Orrantia off, then countering with combinations to Texan jugs, retaking lost canvas. Spirited, compact give and take - seething stuff from both vixens. Late in the round, Debby separates herself with a series of short right crosses to Haley's chin, punching her off balance at the bell.


R3: Debby showing first signs of separation last round, Haley answers with vigor. Mixing things up a little - still pushing in strong, but now also stepping back, walking Ryan in to shots. Orrantia driving in on Debby, then turning her in the clinches: blonde's output drops as she struggles to set her feet. Haley scrounging and digging - claiming steadily against prime belly and breast meat - but also slipping the odd stubby jab to face, and following it with straight-arm, fade-away hook to sternum while breaking away. Crisp, smart punching from Orrantia, she’s touched Ryan up bell to bell.

R4: Debby bangs back - baring teeth as she commits on a roaring right cross from medium distance, punching Haley's chin before piling into her. Ryan muscling Orrantia to ropes: both fighters straining, faces twisted with effort as stamping little legs contend for canvas. Debby strong on Haley at the ropes, blonde smearing her brunette, bodying up to secure her, then digging in with heartfelt, bumping bursts of pumping lefts and rights. Not good for Orrantia, she's bruising up to the ribs, getting bullied. Bell to bell Ryan, and a little bit extra - hooking Haley's tits as ref's pulling her off from behind.


R5: Haley comes off the body, finds Debby midring with a short right to chin, wobbling the blonde’s sturdy legs. Orrantia quickly back to the midsection with a swinging left, shifting weight to right foot as she hauls it home. Haley snarling as she steps right, turns Debby's flank, then flurries to her jugs: stamping footwork, stuffing punches, then backing off and resetting. Ryan bracing for the shoving match that never comes, stooped forward behind her mitts as Orrantia works her over midring, putting together short, brisk, harmful lefts and rights - belting away, then moving like a champ. After the bell, Haley hops in, flinging her body into a stuffing left hook to Debby's tits: furious blast blows her to her buns! Ryan open-mouthed in shock, sat down by a roaring wallop to her jugs: Orrantia bellowing in exultation at the sight of Debby on the canvas, whether the knockdown counts or not!


R6: Now it’s Debby with the early surprise, she feints high, shoots in and wraps her arms around Hayley's waist: stamping leg drive propel bundled-up brawlers to ropes and it's Ryan on top. Simple, methodical, effective stuff: Debby unhurried - taking the time to get her weight on Hayley, securing her before plowing into her. Ryan's punch jams home - then she ties up, consolidating with weight after almost every punch. Orrantia groaning - butt and back in ropes, trying to shove off, slide along the strands, anything, but she’s got nowhere near the leverage Debby's getting. Ryan not just lying atop Orrantia, blonde's busy in the clinch: muscular arms always wriggling in under Haley's; bulging chest constantly pressing her brunette upright or smudging her sideways; shoulders rubbing in under Orrantia's chin, bumping her about as once again she finds an answer. Body work has both women beaten red to ribs and belly, tops needing to be retied after jug-on-jug action of the previous round


R7: Battered vixens flat footed, breathing hard, but SO determined, fighters pawing left hands to locate, then laying-in to work. Girls trading single right hands to paunch with similar facial expressions: mouths open, eyes frowned shut. Groggy looks of waxen-eyed stupor when the other girl goes to jug. Sleepy in the clinch, walking each other around - full backsides giving their all in the scrum. Down the stretch Debby’s left hand pushing Haley’s right out of the way, crowding close while delivering short right hands across Orrantia's mouth, or cramming to gut. Hayley stunned, wobbly-butt, but strong legs holding her up as she absorbs steady work to bell.


R8: Brutal toe-to-toe slugging midring. Girls scrubbing foreheads together - hands up/elbows in. Each taking turns digging those short shots to belly; cuffing ribs behind elbows; coming off body to get tidy uppercuts. Backsides ringing, curvy legs holding canvas as they stamp sluggishly around - each constantly at the other either pushing, rubbing, or head-scrubbing. Down the stretch, Debby BURIES a left hook to Haley's gut, cramping her up. Orrantia shoves home an insurance right to gut, then wedges a right uppercut to jug. Haley hurt, just laying in, not answering, Debby hooks tummy again, then doubles the left hand into short uppercut, Orrantia's head pops up woozy, as she stumbles back a step. Ryan stepping-with, gets the left uppercut again - with more authority - then starts cranking hooks-to-jaw! Haley dazed, taking shots upside the head...she clatters back all the way across the ring and ORRANTIA GOES DOWN! Ryan stampeding forward on her own momentum, tramples Haley, blonde girl's jugs a-jumpin'. Debby hits ropes chest-first - blows a kiss into the audience, laughing boozily on her way to neutral corner as poor Orrantia's lolling side to side, trying to rally! Haley sits up, rolls over right hip to get to one knee but it's OVER! KO8 as Debby finally goes from competitor to winner!

After: Plenty of bad blood on display after ref lets Debby’s arm drop. Groggy battlers body-up, some punch-drunk pushing, suddenly both girls put up their dukes. Looking like the audience might get some free taped-fist action before corner crews tackle them apart. OddMan’s been known to cultivate rivalries, was this part of the plan?
