(Girls Friday vs Downunder boxing)

Intro:
This is a step up for Ivana Baquero after blasting out Michelle Heaton in her last fight as Emily Browning is the ACB flyweight champion.
In Ivana's favour is that Emily Browning hasn't fought in two years but that hasn't stopped the Aussie in the past from having lay offs and coming back to crush dreams.

At the press conference, neither fighter showed any real malice to the other but they didn't exactly jump for joy at seeing each other.
Taking the others scalp is too important to each fighter to worry about anything outside of being the winner.
Ivana spoke first "While I could talk all day about how beautiful this city and part of the world is, the important issue here is between me and Emily, who is the superior fighter"
"I have fought twice and I have taken the BBU champ to the limit and beat a nobody, I see Emily as certainly being closer to Jenna than Michelle but I can win this fight because I'm the baddest flyweight in the world" finishes Ivana as she returns to her seat looking extremely confident.
Emily takes her ACB flyweight title to the podium and turns to Ivana to start the first official stare down between the two.
She replies to Ivana's speech by saying "look Ivana, I've heard all about you and I have seen your fight with Jenna, it was a cute fight but this title and me are the real deal"
Turning to the media in the room, she adds "I have beaten the best Australia has to offer, I've battered girls from around the world, so beating you honey is a foregone conclusion"
Ivana doesn't seem to bat an eyelid as she smiles and even gives Emily a condensing clap to her achievements, which doesn't go unnoticed by her opponent.
Squaring up to each other at the stare down, Emily can be heard saying "you want to play games? Let's see how big you feel after ten rounds with me."
Ivana smirks and replies "same goes for you, I respect what you've done but you've never went toe to toe with me, so we'll find out whose the tougher girl"
Both are separated as the stare down is starting to get heated between the two fighters as they edge closer together.

Fight time in Sydney, the crowd are in full voice as the villain to them Ivana enters the arena with Lauren Berlingeri and Eva Caneiro beside her.
She is wearing a Barcelona shirt with Baquero 10 on the back that is over her proper attire for tonights action as a proud girl from that city.
Stepping into the ring, Lauren helps take the shirt off to reveal a red and yellow striped one piece swimsuit, that is supposed to resemble the away kit of Barca and she has red gloves and shoes to finish the look.
Emily comes out to a massive cheer and she eats it up by pumping her fists to the crowd as her trainer Nikki Visser holds up the ACB flyweight title up.
She is wearing a green swimsuit with a small yellow kangaroo on the centre of the bust to show how proud she is to be from here,
She completes the look with green gloves and shoes as she enters the ring and makes sure to do a lap of the ring past Ivana to get the crowd into play.
As the ref ushers the fighters to the ring centre, the name of Emily rings throughout the arena as she smirks at Ivana.
Who in turn doesn't look might interested as she just stares at Emily and her Latin blood seems to be starting to simmer and when it boils over, she is going to go hell for leather.
The ref asks for a touch of gloves and both fighters give a little extra pop to the glove touch as a small echo of leather clashing rings out louder than normal.
Both fighters get their gumshields in and do a last minute warm up before the bell rings for ten rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
Off to the races we go alright as both fighters race to meet in the ring centre to show the other who truly is the better woman.
Ivana keeps herself the more compact in her guard as she takes the early advantage with fast little strikes compared to her opponents more powerful but slower strikes that are coming in.
Emily has to back off first to the surprise of many as Ivana quickly opens up to land a right hook to wobble the ACB champion.
Browning moves into space as she is trying to get herself into this fight but is finding it hard as Ivana is forcing her to fight at her pace.
Ivana again catches the slightly smaller Emily across her right cheek with a left hook and the Aussie looks stunned by the aggressiveness of the Spanish girls attack.
The bell rings with the crowd stunned silent by what they've seen and Emily looks as stunned as them, sitting on her stool, her second Nikki is shouting at her to focus and take the fight to Ivana.

Round 2:
Back out they come with Emily looking more focused than the first round, up on her toes now; she is trying to chop Ivana down to the canvas by working the body when she gets into range.
But the pocket dynamo Ivana jabs her over the top to her head, snapping it back then ploughing forward to force the two into a mighty exchange before surprisingly Emily has to move again.
The game plan for Baquero is simple, Emily has much more experience but is being kept out of her comfort zone by the pressure being placed onto her by the younger girl.
Emily does manage to wade her way back into close enough range to slam some harsh hooks to the body of Ivana before an uppercut surprises her into a retreat once again.
Ivana isn't going to let up so easily as she presses forward with her jab as a measuring stick before ploughing her right forward straight into the brunettes nose.
Emily is knocked onto the ropes and again they brawl it out as the crowd start up again, willing their girl to fight her way off the ropes.
Instead she has to clinch as both fighters seem to want a quick break from pummelling each other.
The ref gives them a chance to fight out of their clinch but has to get involved as both women are rubbing foreheads and insulting each other.
Pulled apart again, Emily manages to get back into space to get time to think as Ivana hunts her down till the bell rings.

Round 3:
Emily after another harsh talking to from Nikki is up on her toes and finally putting her boxing skills on show as she is parrying punches and countering with some cracking shots.
Ivana for the first time in the fight seems to slow down for a moment as she is reevaluating how to keep her control.
But Emily is now the one pressuring her backwards as the crowd are in full voice again and Ivana's head is being snapped back.
Ivana struggling as Emily starts changing her attack from her head, to her body and even some to her jugs, which get a hard scowl from the Latin fighter.
Baquero does land some hard hooks to the body and some stray shots to the jugs of Emily to back her away somewhat.
But neither fighter is gaining much ground at this stage in the round as they nearly clash heads and are stuck in a clinch with both fighting for dominance.
The ref pulls them apart and this time Emily comes forward the quicker to stun Ivana with a jab to snap her head backwards, followed by a right hook that sends Ivana wobbly legged towards the ropes.
But back comes Ivana, nearly roaring off the ropes as the two slug it out and bang! They both bump heads from having the same idea to lunge their jabs forward.
The ref pulls both women apart and sees luckily that there is no cuts that could have stopped the fight, after a quick warning to the fighters, they continue to fight to the bell rings not long after.
Emily looks much more happy with herself as Nikki continues to tell her what to do to keep on top of Ivana to win this bout.
In Ivana's corner, Lauren is keeping her grounded and calm, telling her to keep to the plan and wear out the older brunette.

Round 4:
Again it quickly descends into a centre ring brawl as neither woman can accept that the other might be better and this is the chance to shut the other up.
Ivana is trying to dig a hole through Emily's stomach as the Aussie is picking at her head and if forcing the Barcelona girl to retreat this time before she's flat out on the canvas.
The fighting is getting more vicious as the fighters keep coming for each other in hard fought exchanges in tight to each other.
Both are little scrapers, so it is hard to work out which one of these two women actually have the advantage in these brawling messes.
Emily pulls Ivana into a clinch but it's the shock her rival by turning her around and pounding her against the ropes to the delight of the locals.
Ivana is covering up as best she can under this onslaught as now she knows she's in a fight.
It takes Ivana gambling to get herself off the ropes with some hard counter punches to Emily's nose to make her back off.
But Emily is on her again in close confines till the bell rings and both fighters return to their corners in what has been a pretty close fight.

Round 5:
Emily is looking to build on her last momentum and it looks good for her as she continues to use her silky skills to get inside the reach of Ivana to hurt her to the body.
The younger fighter is looking rattled as the ACB champion is controlling the pace now and setting the terms of conflict.
Ivana seems to be stuck on the back foot now instead of going on the attack and that's letting Emily work her magic.
Emily is fighting with different angles of attack, sometimes she's going to the body and when Ivana tries to adapt to that, Browning moves the combos up to the head of her opponent.
Lauren is shouting for her girl to get out of her own head and take the fight to the Aussie, who looks super confident and when she does, that usual means a win is coming.
Ivana seems to get the message but it's too late in the ring it seems as Emily is waiving and ducking the late rally.
The bell rings and Emily raises her arms to the crowd who roar their support to their champion.
Ivana is the one getting a telling off from Lauren, who shouts "stop fighting her fight, I know this is a major fight for you but you can't let it pass you by OK?"
Ivana nods as both fighters get cleaned up by their seconds and both have puffy cheeks from swelling and you can only guess how red their bodies are under their attires.

Round 6:
Ivana is straight back into the face of Emily, who isn't going to step back at all as they slug it out around the ring with both just beating the other.
Blood can be seen on both fighters gloves as noses are bleeding from the wild shots being thrown from both sides.
They clinch up and it looks like Emily is slowly tiring as that ring rust is starting to have it's effect as she is starting to breath harder.
She still has enough energy to meet Ivana head on after they are separated, as neither woman can surely keep this up till the end of the fight?
Clinched up again, both women look a mess as you would think they were fighting for the title and not just for bragging rights.
The ref gets them apart and now the round slows down as it turns into a single punch exchange fight.
The bell rings with both women looking at each other with a look of mixed emotions, a little respect can be seen but also a lot of anger that they couldn't beat the other down.

Round 7:
The action has slowed down but one fighter is starting to take control of this contest with her stamina and that is Ivana.
She is moving more quickly around Emily and as her coach has told her, she's focusing on the body of Browning to wear the girl out.
Emily is firing back as best as she can and to some she has a slight lead going into this round but it's being eaten away by the superior work rate of her opponent.
It gets worse as she lowers her guard to stop enough a shot to her body but the real punch comes in the form of a right hook to her chin.
Down goes Emily as the crowd just sit in silence, stunned at their girl going down in her own home country.
Ivana gets to a neutral corner and rests up against the turnbuckles as she hopes that Emily is out of it.
But Emily is surprisingly stirring as the crowd starts to pick up again as they cheer her and shout for her to get up and fight.
At 8, Emily is standing to a loud cheer, the referee checks she is OK to continue and sees a small cut has opened on her left cheek in this down right brutal contest.
Ivana tries to come back into the end the fight but Emily uses her experience to grab on to her rival and hold on for dear life.
The ref pulls them apart and Ivana eats some cracking counterpunches, which reel her backwards and it looks like Emily might get quick revenge for her being down.
Till Ivana grabs on to her and the two fighters lean on each other to get some rest, the ref gives them a few moments before pushing them apart again.
The bell rings with both women digging body shots into the other as their foreheads touch and the ref has to keep both fighters apart as they are getting desperate to win that they will continue even after the bell.

Round 8:
Ivana comes on the attack as Emily seems to not have the energy to get back into a brawl, so she is instead hanging back and hoping to catch the Latin fighter cold.
It doesn't look like it's going to work though as Ivana is showing great patience to measure her punches with her jab then when she gets her chance she strikes.
Left and right hooks slam into the body of Emily once again and she goes wobbly legged as she can be heard sucking in air.
Another left hook just under her jugs to her ribs seems to have hurt Emily badly as her eyes shut and she falls into the ropes.
Ivana is like a viper as she strikes with just a barrage of punches and while Emily has her guard up, she isn't throwing anything back.
The ref is in close and he pulls Ivana away before waving the fight off, saying that Emily is finished.

Winner: Ivana Baquero TKO Round 8

After:
Boos surround the arena as the fans are not happy with the stoppage but Emily is still leaning against the ropes catching her breath.
Ivana goes over to Emily and surprisingly the two speak about the fight and Baquero checks if Browning is OK.
That seems to placate the Aussie audience, especially after the near riot after the first fight of tonight's card.
The fighters even share a quick hug before they return to their corners to get cleaned up by their seconds after a gruelling contest.
Emily gets a round of applause from the crowd for her effort as she is still their champion in more than just having the belt
Ivana surprisingly also gets a good applause as she leaves the ring, she bows as best she can as she rubs her stomach afterwards to show she defiantly didn't come away unscathed from that fight.

Both fighters were interviewed afterwards in the backstage before they returned to their locker rooms and both seemed happy with the fight.
Emily told journalists "I hate losing but tonight wasn't my night, I've had a good training camp so I have to look at myself and maybe getting into the ring more often"
Before she left she added "Ivana showed me the hype isn't all bull, she still has some things to work on I think but she looks to have the tools at her disposal"
Ivana was as equally complimentary as Emily, saying "wow! Until you get in the ring with her, you don't fully understand how great she is, I am woman to admit she kicked my ass in some of those rounds"
Starting to smile, she says "I think a rematch someday between us has to happen, I know she had ring rust and I'm not the complete article yet but it was a good fight right guys or was I in another fight?"
Winking at the cameras, Ivana is about to leave when she remembers to say "oh and Jenna, I hope to see you before long for the actual title this time, I've beaten the ACB champion and I have a few fights I would love to have like Nikki Sanderson first to get my experience levels up but you're my end goal porky"
Ivana leaves with a massive smile on her face as Poppy Drayton is waiting at the door to the Girls Friday locker room to congratulate her.
