BBU "DUEL IN THE SUN"
(from Sun City, Rustenburg, South Africa)

BEFORE: They've got Charlize Theron and Candice Swanepoel making all the noise in America but BBU also requires a South African influx of power according to BBU TV's Kate Abdo - and here's where Jenna Pietersen steps in to make her official boxing debut in front of a rampant Sun City audience tonight. Elize du Toit just isn't good enough to headline the Springbok assault these days anymore but thankfully Pietersen has all the tools in the world to become the next big thing and she's not afraid to let everyone know about it too.
Word on the street is that Pietersen might replace the struggling Sarah Jayne Dunn on the Double A Boxing roster within minutes of her successful BBU debut and all the pieces are set to fall into the right places considering the choice of her opponent tonight. Fellow lingerie model Jennifer Lamiraqui could act as Jenna's clone to a great extent but she's failed to make an impact over the summer losing to both Belen Rodriguez and Amy Willerton and now is labelled as a complete underdog even though this is Pietersen's maiden try at celebrity female boxing. However the hype surrounding Sun City is enormous and nobody expects Lamiraqui to survive the bout in one piece, even Kate Abdo admits she's extremely curious to see if all the rumours about Jenna are true and well, it's hard to stay neutral when the hospitality in the luxury resort exceeds anything that's present back in the UK. The South African hosts want to make sure BBU returns to the glamorous venue in the future and after Elize du Toit's dismal undercard showing, Jenna Pietersen holds the ultimate ticket to Sun City's future endeavours.
Jenna Pietersen wears a red bikini set and black gloves. Long dark brown hair in loose waves. Jennifer Lamiraqui wears a navy blue bikini set and white gloves. Long dark brown hair in loose waves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1: Jennifer's victory chances were written off before the opening bell already but the French model is determined to upset the hosts and storms into a massive leather barrage which catches the ballyhooed Jenna cold. The local starlet gets blasted to the gut before Lamiraqui switches upstairs and connects with the chin staggering the younger brunette on her heels. A left hook follow up finds the temple and sends Pietersen into defensive circles thereafter; thankfully she's just a little quicker on her feet and avoids the French rush before clinching Jennifer in a desperate attempt to halt her progress. However the older model keeps stacking up punches to the ribcage and gains separation in the final minute, she procceeds into punishing Pietersen with more jabs over the top and the Sun City audience doesn't have much to cheer for at the bell with Lamiraqui landing more crisp strikes into their fav's otherwise pretty face!
Round 2: The opener was a massive cooler for the South African hosts and Jennifer tries to make sure it stays that way in the second. She loops more hooks upstairs but the local rookie fends off the heat in mid distance and keeps her balance in tact despite a stacked French effort. However Lamiraqui just doesn't have the speed & agility to enforce her wrath and Pietersen does well to avoid the slugging affair after that mediocre start to her BBU career. Well, that was only the opening round after all but these three minutes often set the tone for remainder of the bout and the odds are heavily placed on Jenna's shoulders to make amends for Elize du Toit's BBU short-comings. Genevieve Morton did little to boost the South African profile on her debut either and while Lamiraqui scores the single punches to maintain the upper-hand in the second, she simply can't land that big punch here and looks a little upset at the bell with Jenna nodding back to her corner in a sign of approval. Kate Abdo doesn't know what's that all about since the local model was very quiet in the ring but she notices Sophie Ellis-Bextor working as impromptu coach in Pietersen's corner which adds more fuel to the Double A Boxing contract fire.
Round 3: Lamiraqui tries to go ahead with another power drive but bounces off the younger brunette's mitts repeatedly and wobbles dangerously forward when she skims off the top of Jenna's forehead. A belting hook slams her on the navel instead as the local starlet channels the response drill and adds a quick hook to the chin to finally make the French girl think better of it. Jennifer is lucky she didn't get steamrolled in close range but Jenna seemed happy just to tame her assault before retreating into defensive circles again. A dire middle minute follows but the Sun City crowd demands more action so Pietersen launches a quick assault to the body; Jennifer should have pushed ahead in the meantime but she's not exactly full of confidence either and a mid range tangle ends in a disappointing clinching stalemate. Kate Abdo reckons that's down to both girls still feeling a little uneasy in the ring but the Pietersen mojo is halted even further when she scowls in pain right at the bell after Lamiraqui harpooned her on the ribcage and seemed to find more juice in the end. The Rustenburg crowd is getting worried now and the rampant support dwindles during the interval with Jenna involved in a heated argument with Ellis-Bextor. That's not a good sign according to Kate Abdo!
Round 4: Can Jennifer take full advantage of her opponent's sluggish start? She's hurt Pietersen in places but lacks the big punch and keeps this bout hanging in limbo especially when she gets clinched one more time in the opening minute of the fourth which only gives the younger brunette more time to find the answers. The power struggle results in the ref working his socks off trying to separate the two vixens but Jenna clearly doesn't want this dubious tactics to stop; she pushes the older girl back to the ropes but Kate Abdo would like to remind her it's not WWE's international guest show here in the Sun City tonight. The second minute is littered with more wrestling before Pietersen finally lands that heavy punch to the gut which slumps Lamiraqui forward against her shoulder and enables the local starlet to jump on the jabbing wagon as she tries to dissect her foe's midriff while keeping her trapped in the corner. Jennifer squeals in her efforts to break free but eats more strikes to the navel and has to give up her pursuit of the whitewash stroll in the park as Jenna screams out in delight at the bell after finally notching up her first victorious round in BBU.
Round 5: Pietersen suddenly goes uptempo and beats the fellow brunette to the mid distance punch; she smacks Lamiraqui on the nose and adds a quick cross to the eye which bends the older woman to the side. Jennifer's BBU tape indicates she can quickly cease operations while getting punched in numbers but she's been ultra aggressive by her standards tonight and Jenna just needed time to settle in on her debut. Kate Abdo's tactical review is interrupted by a monster hook that finds Lamiraqui's nose in mid range again, the French girl sags on her heels on the spot and then makes a critical mistake of not retreating under pressure like Pietersen did earlier. Subsequently she gets ransacked by a flurry of jabs that expose her high guard and back her into the ropes in a hurry. Jenna unloads some heavy juice and takes full advantage of the older brunette requiring a wholesale restart before it's too late. It's not too late here in the fifth yet but inside the final thirty seconds, Jennifer's face gets busted up badly with a deep gash under the left eye sticking out like a sore thumb. The French girl wobbles on the verge of being Miss Dizzy here and if only Jenna herself wasn't as surprised by the lack of proper guard from her rival, she could have go on and just blast Jennifer out of the ring on the spot!
Round 6: Jenna is two inches taller than the fellow brunette and there's no way around that in mid distance unless one has the superior dancing moves available. However that's the biggest issue for Lamiraqui and she quickly soaks up more jabbing beef in mid range after a brief hooking assault bounced off the younger model's gloves and paved the way for a vicious response. The scattered shot placement lets Pietersen down during the opening minute but once the ammount of strikes begins to stack up on Jennifer's bruised face, her backpedalling trick collapses alltogether and has Jenna ripping leather all over town. The proud French girls tries to survive through the punching heat but gets clobbered back to the ropes and can't stop her foe from inflicting more facial damage, come the final minute another gash appears under Lamiraqui's other eye and the embattled girl barely hangs on behind a high earmuff with Pietersen rockin' and reelin' in the corner after a one-sided striking galore that only lacked the knockdown punch to cap off the South African rout! The atmosphere inside the Sun City Palace has changed dramatically since the extremely downbeat three rounds that opened the 'Duel In The Sun' Main Event and even Kate Abdo begins to see the light at the end of the Pietersen-hype tunnel.
Round 7: Jennifer tries to weather the difficult time in the ring but she simply can't match her rival's supreme footwork and gets tangled up in another mid range hooking frenzy that drops her cover on the spot. She finally channels the clinching route but Jenna is not to be denied anymore, she wrenches the French girl to the side with a scything hook on the liver area and unloads an uppercut flurry to gain the separation required. Jennifer winces in pain as she's forced to slump on the ropes in wake of that uppercut drive and she's unable to react when Jenna SLAMS her on the left temple with a proper haymaker that finall downs all the French victory hopes. Lamiraqui aches her heart out but her arms drop by the wayside and the knees buckle at the same time Pietersen HITS IT OUT OF THE PARK with a crushing right hook on the eye. Poor Jennifer didn't even see it coming.... Lights out, bytch!!! Lamiraqui goes all timber in the corner and the loud thump against the boards signals the end of this bout because there's no way back from that one anymore. Jennifer remains down on her face and early signs are she's been knocked unconscious in the most shocking turn of events considering her high-flying start. KO7 Jenna Pietersen!!!
AFTER: This was a marathon rather than a sprint for the Sun City hosts and Kate Abdo admits she was duped by the media frenzy since the moment she arrived in Johannesburg the other day. Jenna Pietersen scored the win the whole country was hoping for to kickstart the South African BBU campaign but it wasn't until the fourth round that the highly-touted prospect from the Western Cape actually managed to score a first down using the football talk. Sure, anything can be blamed on the rookie night pressure to perform and using the lacklustre Sophie Ellis-Bextor as a ringside adviser was simply a terrible idea from Pietersen's camp according to Kate Abdo but nobody should judge the winner too harsh especially that, unlike most of her peers, the hopes of the entire nation are firmly pinned on her shoulders. That's unless Genevieve Morton actually turns up to be any good...
Jenna seems a little overwhelmed by the rampant response from the Sun City resort but she must have known what she's signed for ahead of her BBU debut. In fact, instead of gloating over the fallen body of the fellow brunette model, she actually wants to make sure Lamiraqui has regained her whereabouts following that heavy knockout. No luck there, dear. The French heroine is down and out here and needs to be revived back in the impromptu locker room of the Sun City Palace while Jenna talks to the local media during a lenghty post-fight ceremony. She admits that Elize du Toit is trying to sign her into the Double A Boxing stable but apparently Sarah Jayne Dunn has a buy-out clause in her contract and the Sun City resort needs to stage at least one more fight card to warrant the purchase. Kate Abdo reckons that BBU would like to have Pietersen in the Cardiff Arena sometime during the next couple of months but the model wisely says she's not travelling to Europe just yet and would prefer to build her record a little back home in South Africa first before making the permanent UK jump. This spells more free agents making a trip to Rustenburg soon as the Sun City casino's profits should be transferred as appearance fees rather than helping to buy out Sarah Jayne Dunn's Double A contract. But it just might be worth it in the end - looking at Pietersen's beaming smile here on her victorious BBU rookie night!
Final result: Jenna Pietersen def. Jennifer Lamiraqui KO7.
