BBU FLYWEIGHT FURY VOL. 2 FROM CARDIFF ARENA

BEFORE: Hannah Spearritt is an accomplished veteran on both sides of the Atlantic but has become largely forgotten in recent years for whatever reason. The singer-turned-actress vows to return to the spotlight - and perhaps attract the interests of the current flyweight dominator Jenna Coleman along the way - but begins her BBU comeback on a slightly lesser note as she faces the Romanian dance music queen Inna here in Cardiff tonight.
Spearritt got stuffed in a gruesome fight versus Cheryl Cole almost 18 months ago and there are questions about her fitness ahead of tonight's bout yet Inna is a manageable opponent according to BBU TV's Kate Abdo who reckons the feisty Romanian will struggle to keep up with the blonde's supreme experience and might be tricked into an implosion disaster much to the delight of the Cardiff audience. One hasn't often seen so much support for a proud English rose on the Welsh soil but apparently there's still a huge demand for Spearritt's BBU services!
Hannah Spearritt wears a black bikini set and white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a curly ponytail. Inna wears a yellow bikini top, navy blue knickers and red gloves. Long black hair straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1: Inna's a feisty character herself and tries to jump the gun on the blonde's supreme record but her early aerial heroics meet a stubborn high guard and lead into a lenghty fruitless jabbing which doesn't seem to bother the brunette all that much though. Keeping Spearritt under wraps is the main task but the Brit won't blow her gasket that easily either and she weathers the scattered Romanian leather rush before channelling the counterpunching stance down the stretch. Both girls show a lot of determination come the final minute but the execution remains mediocre and there's no surprise Hannah drags her foe into a clinching stalemate in the dying seconds to see out the clock.
Round 2: Spearritt keeps hanging back and allows Inna to lean on her with more jabbing menace. Kate Abdo thinks that's down to the blonde's rustiness while the younger singer has that mean look about her which would explain Hannah's cautious approach as well. The brunette hassles the Brit in mid distance but only grazes the forearms most of the time before a hectic uptempo switch finally enables her to stick some juice upstairs as Spearritt lacks the agile touch to stay out of the striking range. Most of the singers profit from their music video dancing routines to aid their footwork in the ring - Inna's no exception from the rule here - but Hannah's S Club 7 days are long gone and she looks very sluggish in comparison. Inna's work rate prevails over the blonde's experience come the final minute yet another clinch saves the day for the older woman as the brunette simply can't land that big punch to put her rival under serious pressure.
Round 3: Inna gets a little vocal early in the third when she bangs a couple of big jabs on the blonde's torso but eats a quick uppercut response which finally allows Spearritt to open up from both sides. She slams a hooking combo on the temples to keep the Romanian in mid distance before a jabbing drive to the body staggers the younger woman on her heels and leaves her seeking a clinching respite for a change. However the Brit bumps her off and beats for another quick hook on the nose which finally makes Inna think better of it. The raven-haired girl spends the rest of the round in circling defense but Hannah doesn't take the bait and methodically works the single-hand drill to boost her confidence. Kate Abdo is shocked that Inna backed out of her offensive gear so quickly but that probably indicates why the Romanian dance queen isn't so highly rated among her divisional peers.
Round 4: We're yet to see Hannah working in sixth gear but Inna's back into the hassling jab stance which allows her to stick some early punches in the fourth. Spearritt's head snaps back as she soaks up a determined leather rush and for once the younger girl thrives on the close range opportunity without having to fend off the annoying clinch. However Hannah's a durable operator and she survives the opening minute drama; quite frankly even Kate Abdo is surprised she didn't get stuffed into the turnbuckle before an overhand hook blasts Inna on the nose and reels her out of the phone booth-like position. As the brunette wobbles back to the side with a loud groan, Spearritt leaps forward with another quick hook and finds the target again; she squashes Inna's lips and sticks extra juice on the boobs making the Romanian squeal wholesale. A ripping combo to the solar plexus bends the aching girl against the blonde's shoulder and Hannah dominates the late action by bursting further punches into the brunette's vulnerable gut.
Round 5: Inna looked woefully hittable to the body in the previous round but Hannah rocks her with a hooking drive up the middle to find the chin and reel the embattled singer on her heels. The Romanian tries to barge in with her own jabbing efforts to the blonde's torso again but misjudges her distance and cuts thin air while Spearritt NAILS her with a screamer on the nose and sends into a tail spin on the spot. Inna falls onto the ropes with a loud scream and wraps her arms around them in order to stay upright but Hannah's all over her moments later slamming a brutal combo on the nose and brow ridge TO SEND THE SINGER SLIDING DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE with another aching groan. Hannah shakes her glove in delight before turning back to her corner while the brunette looks quite dizzy upon beating the count at eight. A nasty lump on the left brow ridge serves as evidence of her troubles and she's simply trying to avoid further damage for remainder of the round. Hannah's improved her footwork by now though and easily snaps her head back with a very accurate jabbing drive that splits the mitts repeatedly and leaves Inna crying out in pain at the bell with the blonde tearing her apart in the corner.
Round 6: Hannah rains punches on the slow moving brunette who obviously needs more time to recover from the knockdown but she's given none whatsoever and soaks up a high-octane jabbing rush in close range that exposes her cumbersome guard badly. Inna's head snaps back repeatedly under the onslaught and more lumps begin to mark her face as she just can't escape the heat and wilts under the blonde's barrage. Spearritt's all business-like now and keeps roughing the singer up; Inna sinks on jelly knees just before the minute mark and shuts her eyes while crying out for mercy. But it's too late as Hannah wrenches her on the nose and adds another hook on the temple TO LAY THE BRUNETTE FLAT OUT ON HER BACK. And Inna's too banged up to make a recovery this time! KO6 Hannah Spearritt!!!
AFTER: That was mighty impressive from the singer-turned-actress who refuses to celebrate this victory much as if she realized it was no big deal after all. When you consider her extended fighting record overseas, that shouldn't surprise no one though. Kate Abdo thinks the best part of Spearritt's performance was that she didn't even looked like running in top gear at any stage of the fight. It deserves additional praise given her lenghty absence from the ring.
Word on the street is that Hannah might challenge fellow veteran Emma Bunton next while the lacklustre Inna has earned herself a scathing twitter review from Frankie Bridge who seems to thrive on her Tisha Merry victory earlier on the card already. Kate Abdo reckons that's a suitable match-up which might either kick start the Romanian's nose-diving career or boost Frankie's dismal BBU stock beyond a rare one-off Merry thumping. Watch this space!
Final result: Hannah Spearritt def. Inna KO6.
