Michelle Heaton vs Emma Bunton
Kear's Kats vs Lioness Club
(0-5) vs (7-10, 6 KO)

(Results: BBU / Story: Vassago)

BEFORE: Michelle Heaton remains winless in BBU competition but refuses to call her boxing career quits despite suffering a nightmare comeback defeat versus Spanish youngster Ivana Baquero just last month. The Gateshead-born brunette seems to thrive on international scenery though as she's booked a surprising trip to the Palace of Versailles where she's set to clash gloves with another slumping BBU veteran, Emma Bunton.
The blonde North Londoner of past Spice Girls fame was supposed to headline the Lioness Club flyweight title quest but currently rides a five fight losing streak and is repeatedly rumoured to be living on borrowed time with her stable. Admittedly all her recent defeats came against opponents ten years - or more - her juniors and going back to her own age group might just be what the doctor ordered for the struggling singer. Heaton is still three years younger than Bunton but hasn't won a single fight in BBU yet and is viewed as a classic underdog in the guest appearance in the north of France tonight.
Michelle Heaton wears a pink bikini set and black gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a loose ponytail. Emma Bunton wears a light blue bikini set and white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
It's a case of who wants it the most according to BBU TV's Denise van Outen and the early signs are Bunton's keen on keeping Heaton winless, the singer buries her younger opponent under a heavy leather assault and tees off with repeated strikes up the middle that bounce off Michelle's cheeks and reel her into a quick earmuff. Her response is almost non-existent and allows the blonde to maintain her superior position until Heaton's blasted butt-in-ropes and sinks on her knees to boot. Van Outen didn't expect fireworks from the brunette in the opening round but this is just absymal yet Bunton can't make the most of the dominance and loses her precision down the stretch bouncing off the forearms in the final minute more often than not and even a late hook on the navel doesn't change the fact she should have knocked the brunette down here.

Round 2:
Emma squares up to the outclassed brunette and seeks easy picking again but suddenly Michelle riffles a left bomb on the mouth and staggers the former Baby Spice into immediate spasms before another scything cross finds the nose and wobbles Bunton with an even louder scowl. Heaton leans forward and peppers the singer's body to take full advantage of that somewhat lucky start and Emma simply doesn't know what hit her for a moment as she rocks on her feet with Heaton even piercing her cleavage with a fine drive signed off with a vicious uppercut to the jaw. Bunton stumbles backwards but just about keeps her balance, she tries to leap into immediate response but Heaton's better placed for a quick hook that nails the singer on the lips again and makes her think better of it. The final minute has the blonde scampering in retreat however Michelle looks satisfied just to pull even on the cards.

Round 3:
Both girls scored a huge round each so the third one is a downer compared to the previous two. It seems like nobody expected such a change of fortunes and the two combatants are figuring out what to do next. Even Lioness Club's head trainer Mel B. can't urge her ex-bandmate into more action and it's Heaton who gets more aggressive down the stretch. However she doesn't have the agility to match Bunton's footwork and ceased the pursuit with thirty seconds left on the clock. According to Denise van Outen, the blonde's suprerior mobility might help her to keep Heaton at bay for a while but she's not going to secure the win by simply avoiding the brunette in the ring tonight.

Round 4:
Thankfully for the French audience, both Brits reset their aggressive plans just in time for the fourth and tangle with plenty of venom in the center of the ring. Bunton thrives in the close range battle and knocks the brunette around with a steady jabbing rush but apparently Heaton has the bigger punch here as she rattles the blonde with a quick hook to the temple and slams her on the lips again for a good measure. She landed not even a quarter of the singer's number but visibly shook her up in the proccess and tees off for another head hunting gear that enforces Emma's retreat. That's a sign of a fighter lacking confidence but Mel B. is furious in the Lioness corner - to no avail. Heaton dominates the final minute and lands more clean punches to the face bursting Bunton's lips into a nasty swelling at the bell. You wouldn't have seen this if those two women met back in 2012!

Round 5:
Emma keeps coming forward but the cheeky smile on Michelle's face tells it all, she might have struggled big time versus youngster Baquero but she's up for a solid beating of a fellow veteran instead. She beats the singer for the initial punch and just stucks her mitts into the Londoner's face thereafter; the French crowd didn't have a designated favorite for this one but Heaton's bruising efforts win her the louder applause down the line. Emma swings over the top in hectic response but misses her target by a country mile and jars her hand against the hip when she tries to switch downstairs. Michelle bumps her off to the jug and scythes through a quick cross on the lips one more time.. one time too many for the embattled singer who drops her cover and moans loudly in a mix of frustration and pain... Heaton whips immediate follow up from point-blank range and snaps Bunton's head sideways before a gut-checking drive finds the solar plexus and renders the Londoner numb... Emma tries to leap back into safety but her legs remain glued to the canvas and the guard fails to embrace a brutal uppercut to the chin THAT SENDS HER CRASHING DOWN ON HER BACK moments later... Heaton screams out in delight and struts towards Mel B. to shake her glove right in front of the Spice Girls' scariest operator... one should be best advised NOT to annoy Brown like that! It doesn't matter though as Mel is shock frozen staring at her bandmate's slow recovery. Emma does beat the count at eight but remains misty-eyed and aches her pain out which requires the ref to take a really long look at her... she's good to go... but only as Michelle's cannon fodder as the Gateshead faithful storms into cleaning out shop and making sure Emma doesn't come back to live another round... an unanswered leather assault pounds the blonde into the ropes with room to spare and Heaton's head hunting tactic shatters the high guard and removes poor Emma from the post wholesale... the singer is just getting WRECKED out there and when Michelle tags her nose one time too many and causes the nostrils to burst into a bloody puddle the ref has no other choice BUT TO STEP IN AND HALT THE BEATING. Just eight seconds left on the clock but the brunette just got to the line for her maiden BBU victory! TKO5 Michelle Heaton!!!

AFTER: Emma just slumps into the referee's arms and even two minutes later, she doesn't know what just happened here in the Palace of Versailles tonight. Someone needs to tell her she's not in Barnet anymore and that's a job for Mel B. who shows enough Spice Girls integrity to ignore Heaton's taunting back in the ring. Denise van Outen is shocked by the outcome of this fight but the time is simply running out for the North Londoner and running out fast! Getting beat by Jade Thirlwall is one thing but to give away a maiden career victory to a 37 year old veteran is downright ugly. If the Lioness Club's head quarters weren't based in Emma's backyard, she'd be cut from her stable within minutes of tonight's epic failure...

On the other hand Michelle is over the moon literally dancing across the ring and twerking her booty so it's obvious she happily accepts the French crowd's applause: "I did it! I frickin' did it! I'm a BBU winner! Take this and some some! Hah! I just punched the crap out of Emma Bunton! That should make the evening news all over the country! Who needs Ivana "what's her name anyway" now?
Denise van Outen is bemused by Heaton's joyful response to her maiden career victory: "It's not like she won the flyweight title outright and she's not a spring chicken either. But they'll throw a party of two up in Gateshead tonight and well, who thought Heaton would have to come to France of all places to finally break her lousy streak. I, for one, didn't!"

Final result: Michelle Heaton def. Emma Bunton TKO5.
