KATIE CASSIDY VS SHAY MITCHELL
Results: Lookout! Writing: Archer
Katie: 29 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m), 11-12-0 since 2009, Empire Boxing
Shay: 29 YO, 5’7 ½ (1.71m), 14-17-0 since 2011, Pretty Little Punchers

Before:  Pre-fight features Katie and Shay’s proud legs. Both turn up at press conference in shorts and tee shirts emblazoned with their team logos. Katie in dark purple shorts, lighter purple tee with golden EMPIRE BOXING across her swelling chest. Shay in red shorts with white t-shirt across the curvy front in red is PRETTY LITTLE PUNCHERS INC.  However what has the photographers snapping are those high heel clad legs as they stand at clear plastic podium answering questions.

“I beat Troian Bellisario a couple of years and then Leah Pipes at the last PPV, I am looking to make a clean sweep the Punchers at bantam. That means Shay here. Plus I don’t want there to be any doubt who has the best fighting legs—namely myself,” Katie Says cheerfully showing off said legs.

“Not bad,” Shay pronounces, “but really, you need to face the truth: you may have beaten Troi and Leah, but you’re now fighting me—and I feeling awfully good after beating Priyanka Chopra. My legs will beat your legs, I assure you.” (She then shows her legs off to the photogs).

Although the mood had been light-hearted, Katie isn’t pleased when Shay cuts in front of her, blocking the photogs view of her splendid gams. Katie moves around back in front and gives Shay a hip bump that causes Shay to stumble and nearly bring down the podium.

“That was NOT funny!” Shay complains.

“Neither is  blocking me out,” Katie retorts, “keep your distance and stop whining.”

“I am not whining, you pushed me!” Shay fires back.

“Sounds like a whine to me,” Katie says turning to the crowd for support drawing a mixed response.

Shay loses patience and out shoot the palms of her hands to strike Katie’s shoulders knocking her off-balance in her high heels, Katie makes a wild grab and seizes the front of Shay’s t-shirt as she falls backwards. Shay is pulled forward and lands on Katie as she hits the stage. The tee shirt has ripped free revealed a white silk bra.

“YOU BYTCH!” Shay cries and in a surprisingly bursts of strength rips open the front of Katie’s tee shirt to reveal a purple cotton bra.

“MY SHIRT!: Katie cries in outrage. She pushes Shay off her and scrambles to her feet. Shay has regained her feet. The two of them stand there in their ripped tees, glaring at each other an breathing hard. Then they lunge for each other, their hands locking in a test of strength as they stumble across the stage in high heels ill-suited for catfighting. Then Security appears to drag them away (much to groaning dismay of the crowd). Dire threats and curses are the last we hear of Shay Mitchell and Katie Cassidy that day.

Ill-will still apparent as the two meet in the ring on fight night. Katie Cassidy in a blazing red bikini with red gloves and boots. Her hair is in ponytail that Katie tries to lash across Shay’s face as they meet. It nearly trigger another catfight until referee restores order. Shay in a sexily high cut on the hips black one piece plus a v-plunging neckline. Light gray gloves and boots with black laces. Shay’s hair in ponytail as well. Much shoving and growling during instructions, but somehow they are gotten through an the fighters dispatched to their corners without the customary glove swipe.

R1: Bell rings and lightning is unleashed in the ring. Those long legs quickly cut distance to mid ring where Katie and Shay start swinging with all-out fury. The ladies are all but dancing as they move gracefully around the ring, firing leather at each other, slipping away and then coming back for more. Punches mainly being aimed at heads and as the round goes on they move less and less, staying in close to bang away with enthusiasm. Katie showing better accuracy as she puts her punches into Shay’s cheeks. Shay starting to  feel the swelling and raises her gloves to protect her face. At the same time, Shay turning attention to Katie’s chest. Katie not liking this gives Shay’s chest a working over. Late in the round, Katie able to pump a quick right uppercut under Shay’s chin sending her tottering back on shaking stems, but Katie runs into Shay’s jab in trying to follow up. Rounds ends soon after. Comes back close but it goes to Katie Cassidy.

R2: Swift movement of strong legs bring Shay and Katie back into punching range at mid ring and they fire away aiming shots at head and upper body with great enthusiasm. They circle each other, moving in and out with grace, but punching hard. Both are taking a lot of punches to the head and faces are lumping up. Then Katie moves in close and surprises Shay with strong hooks to the belly. Shay doubles up and stutter-steps back. Katie in pursuit, but she runs into some strong belly punching counters from Shay. Now Katie falls back as she doubles up, Shay moves to the side and pops an a heavy overhand right that clips Katie’s jaw. Katie’s legs give a shudder as she reels away. Shay moving around her, trying to cut her off, but Katie managing to get her jab going as she steadies herself late. Shay trying to get another shot, circles around the defensive Katie, but can’t land a finishing punch. Judges conclude it was a close round, but give it to Shay Mitchell by a narrow margin.

R3: Empire Boxing corner crew working hard on Katie Cassidy as she slumps on her stool. Big nasty bruise on her side of her jaw where Shay hit her last round. However Katie makes an effort to rise quickly and head for Shay Mitchell, though she’s not moving with the grace seen earlier. Shay approaching cautious, sending out probing punches to the stomach and ribcage. Katie hunching out, puts up a jab, but without power. Then Shay ups the tempo and fires quick straight lefts and rights over Katie’s gloves and bangs her forehead. Katie shuddering and backing up with a foggy look in her eyes. Shay sees her chance and comes in , ducking down and then rising with an right uppercut that catches Katie under the chin. Katie’s head thrown back, she stands up on her tiptoes and then topples forward landing in the astonished arms of Shay Mitchell! Shay quickly spreads her arms and jumps back. Katie’s face slides down the front of Shay’s one piece before Shay gets clear. Katie smacks into the canvas face first. She lies on her face, arms and legs moving ineffectually. Referee moves in to start his count as Shay watches anxiously from neutral corner. Katie gradually gets to all fours, but as the count reaches “…EIGHT!...” she gives a shudder and collapses back to the canvas. She’s unable to do anything more as the count rolls past “…TEN!”…
THE WINNER: SHAY MITCHELL KO3!

After: Shay so excited she leaps into the air. She then rushes over to accept the congratulatory hugs of Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse and Danielle Canmpbell.
“It was amazing! I was all confident I could win the fight,” a somewhat breathless Shay tells the press, “but knocking her out in 3 was a surprise. I think I rocked her in R2 and she never really recovered. That uppercut was just the finished the job. I hope she’s all right. Despite what went on in the prefight, I really do respect her.”

A shocked Katie Cassidy soon recovers to tell press: “I can’t believe what happened! I can’t really member much of what happened after she nailed me in the 2nd. Well, no, I would never quite on my stool, I am not sorry I went out for the third. But I could have been a lot more defensive than I was and that is something I have now learned the hard way. I just hope I get another crack at Shay Mitchell. I know I can do better than that against her!”

You never know how a fight will turn out. Probably most fans were hoping for a long fight so they could see Shay and Katie fighting it round after round. However sometimes reality intrudes with a surprise early KO. That was the case this time. Of course, it was very good win for Shay Mitchell and painful setback for Katie Cassidy, but maybe it will act as a motivator as much for Katie as she seeks erase the memory of this fight as it does advance Shay’s boxing career. In case there was a lot of action in those three rounds and fans should take consolation in that as they look forward to Shay and Katie’s future bouts
