TESS VALMORE
THIRWALL/CABELLO Cabello out to get revenge for an earlier loss to Thirwall. The bout was even at the end of four. I thought Thirwall got the better of the fifth with a late rally. In the sixth, Cabello came out punching and was working Thirwall over and had Thirwall shaky. Then she missed a fight ending left hook and ate a right hook and a left from Thirwall and Cabello went down and with her, her hopes of revenge. Thirwall by a KO6
PARRISH/PALLET The fight was mainly Pallet. She opened a big lead by taking the first three rounds. Parrish managed to take the fourth and fifth when she opened a cut on Pallets left cheek. The bout swung back to Pallet in the sixth when she decked Parrish. Parrish managed to survive the sixth, but when she came out for the seventh it was obvious she had nothing left. A right to the body and a left hook to the chin sent Parrish down for the count
VIKANDER/CLARKE Vikander had the lead at the end of five, having come close to stopping Clarke in both the third and fourth rounds. Clarke took the fifth cutting Vikander’s lead. Clarke then took change of the sixth. Mid round she went on a rampage working Vikander’s body. Seeing Vikander stumbling, she unleashed a torrent of punches that put Vikander down and she wouldn’t get up. Clarke with a big win
HUDGENS/E. HENSTRIDGE There was no mystery as to how this bout was going to end. Management sent in a rookie against Hudgens I said in the predictions this was a suicide mission. Henstridge did look good early in bout, winning three of the first four rounds but you knew it was only a matter of time. Time came in the sixth, when Hudgens got in close and worked Henstridge’s body before going upstairs with a left hook. Henstridge was out before she hit the canvas.
WATSON/M. FOX This was a good hard punching bout that had the two even at the end of four. Watson took the lead by winning round five. In round six, Watson caught Fox with a straight right and then went on a rampage handing Fox a terrible beating until a final right ended the bout with Fox senseless on the canvas
HALE/KRUEK Hale took the first two rounds and Kruek evened the fight by taking rounds three and four. Hale surged back into the lead by winning a competitive and close fifth. In the sixth, Hale landed a big right that pretty much ended Kruek’s night and then landed another that definitely ended Kruek’s night.
MEIS/KARDASHIAN Meis
CHARLI XCX/MINHEE I have to admit all I know about either is that they are singers. Minhee is making her debut while Charli has a perfect FCBA record. She has lost every bout (all two) Minhee took the first two rounds and then Charli came back to take the third and deck Minhee in the fourth. The bout turned around again the the fifth, as Minhee decked Charli. In the sixth, Minhee agains took charge and ended the fight with a right uppercut. Charli XCX needs to find someone she can beat. That may be mission impossible
BAYLEY.CRUZ This was Bayley's, whoever she is, first fight against a opponent who is 16 years older and almost three inches shorter. It was no surprise that Bayley took the first three rounds, while Cruz managed to win a close fourth In the fifth, Bayley pretty much had her way finally decking Cruz for the count with a right to the stomach. Post fight Bayley was a little full of herself talking about beating an older woman. She would be better if she shut up
SEYDOUX/SILK The bout was even at the end of four. Silk, who won the fourth round, was controlling the fifth and had Seydoux hanging on. Then with about 30 seconds left in the round, Seydoux landed a short right hook to Silk’s chin and Silk went down. She tried to beat the count but failed and went down to her fourth straight loss
CHOPRA/MCCORD As happens so often, the bout was even at the end of four with McCord having a good fourth. Chopra battered McCord in the fifth and came close to stopping her. McCord managed to finish the fifth, but she didn’t finish the sixth, as a Chopra uppercut to the chin sent McCord down to the deck where she stayed as the count passed her by. McCord may not be old but she should retire
OLSEN/WILDE Interestingly, this was a fight that shouldn’t have been made. Olsen had left the Academy a week or two before the challenge. Miss Ginny then accepted the fight for Olsen who by that time was no longer under Academy management. Miss Ginny seems to have a problem remembering who is in her stable Oh yeah, the fight. After Wilde took the first round, Olsen took the next two, decking Wilde in the third. Olsen continued her winning ways by taking the fourth. In the fifth, Wilde turned the bout around having Olsen hurt at the end of the round. In the sixth, the Wilde girl pounded Olsen at will until she went down and didn’t try to get up
CASSIDY/MITCHELL There was a little pre-fight excitement as the two got into it and had to be separated by security. Cassidy won a close first and and Mitchell a close second although Cassidy was hurt at the end of the round. Cassidy was slow to come out for the third and Mitchell was all over her pounding Cassidy until she went down and was unable to beat the count
CYRUS/LOVATO This was a good competitive fight although Lovato had the lead going into the final rounds due to sending Cyrus to the canvas in the third and fifth rounds. Cyrus had a good ninth and floored Lovato in the tenth, but it was not enough. Lovato got the decision based on the second knockdown
MACK/BELLISARIO The fight was even at the end of four. Bellisario took the lead winning the fifth leaving Mack a mess. It was all downhill for Mack from there. Bellisario floored her in the sixth, worked her over in the seventh and finished her in the eighth with a right to the jaw. I think Mack has now passed to the downside and that’s taking nothing from Bellisario
BENNET/VANCAMP In my predictions I made the comment that Bennet was leaving the sandbox to play with the big girls I thought that VanCamp wouldn’t have all that much trouble. It was a great bout that I think goes down in the record books as the longest in FCBA history. The bout was fairly even during the whole fight with VanCamp scoring a knockdown in the seventh and Bennet scoring a knockdown in the eighth. The bout was a draw and went into extra rounds where again neither could win two straight rounds. Late in the seventeenth, VanCamp sent Bennet to the deck and Bennet was unable to beat the count
BALDWIN/RONAN The New Blood Bantam Final This bout between two newbies was a little on the sloppy side with unusual activity from the referee. The fight was even at the end of four. Ronan took the lead in the fifth and ended the fight in the sixth, when she caught Baldwin with an uppercut
DIXON/DAWSON Why is Dixon still fighting?. Does she need the money that badly?. Going into this fight she had lost 17 of her 19 FCBA fights Well, let’s make that 18 of 20. The only question in this fight was not who was going to win, but how long would it last. The answer was not quite five rounds
K. JENNER/TONKIN It’s no secret that I am not a fan of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, In my predictions, I said I would like to see Jenner lose, but predicted she would win. Tonkin took two of the first three rounds. She should have stopped there. The fourth ended Tonkin’s night when Jenner landed a right hook
HADID/WATERHOUSE A pair of newbies. Hadid was 1-1 and Waterhouse 0-2. As so often happens the bout was even at the end of four with Hadid winning the fourth and having Waterhouse hurt. Hadid came out in the fifth to score a KO and she did with a right hook
Hadid record goes to 2-1
AGDAL/KERR Surprisingly Agdal took the first three rounds, but after that it was all Kerr. Kerr took the next four rounds having Agdal hurt at the end of the seventh. Agdal was a beaten fighter as she came out for the eighth. Kerr was all over her flooring her mid round. Agdal got to her feet. but was defenseless The fight should have been stopped there but it was allowed go on for another minute before Kerr mercifully ended it
LIMA/SINCLAIR Sinclair found out that conventional FCBA fights are a little different that JMD and maybe she should just go back there The early fight belonged to Lima but by the end of the sixth, Sinclair had evened the bout. Lima went on a rampage in the seventh and had Sinclair down on her knees as the round ended. Sinclair insisted in coming out for the eighth. It was a wrecked Sinclair who came out for the eighth to meet her fate, which came after a minute of Lima using her for a punching bag
D. JOHNSON/YUSTMAN This was another bout where the result was a foregone conclusion
What are Yustman’s chances of losing three in a row? About nil. Especially when her opponent has never won a bout. Although Johnson managed to take the third round, the bout was nothing more than practice for Odette. By the middle of the sixth, Johnson was a sobbing mess and Yustman finally put her out of her misery with a gut busting body attack
PATTON/NOLIN This fight made my night. Nothing please me more in the FCBA than to see the FCBAs dirtiest fighter of all time, lose. Nolin had the lead at the end of five, however Patton came back in the sixth to work Nolin over. Nolin came out in a rage int the seventh only to walk into a right to the jaw that sent her to the canvas Nolin regained her feet only to be punched into a helpless daze and the bout was stopped
M. RYAN/N. HENSTRIDGE In the previous fight. both were over 40. In this one only one, Henstridge is over 40. I guess that is progress. This bout lasted about 4 1/2 minutes. Ryan made a wreck out of Henstridge in the first and flattened her in the second. Henstridge like a lot of the over age welters needs to go
AMBROSIO/BUNDCHEN The bout was even at the end of four with Ambrosio having a very good fourth. Ambrosio continued her attack in the fifth having Bundchen in bad shape as the round ended. Bundchen’s corner wanter to throw the towel in but Bundchen refused. It was an bad decision, but Ambrosio made her end to come in short order with a right to the liver area
RHODA/KRSMANOVIC This was Rhoda’s debut and she made the most of it. We had the fight even at the end of four. Rhoda then took the fifth, hurt Krsmanovic in the sixth and finished her off in the seventh with a right uppercut
ATKINSON/GOVICH Another welter bout featuring aged fighter, this time not quite 40. A stay busy fight for Atkinson against the aged fighter whose last win was back in 2012. Govich was never in this fight. Atkinson played around with her for three rounds and then hammered Govich into dreamland
J. COLEMAN/BUSH JMD TITLE Bush
ROHRBACH/SWAN For the Queen of the Ice Hotel Rohrbach took a big lead early winning three of the first four rounds and decking Swan in the third. Swan narrowed the lead by winning rounds five and six, only to have Rohrbach take round seven and build a two point lead again The eighth was competitive, when a Swan killer overhand right landed and Rohrbach went out. Swan is the new Queen of the Ice Hotel
SCERBO/WILLIAMS For the flyweight title. I was on pins and needles most of this bout. Everyone knows that Cassie is my BFF I was very concerned at the end of four, since Williams had taken three of the rounds and had decked Scerbo in the third. I needed not to worry. Cassie took over and dominated the bout the rest of the way taking the next three rounds and finally finishing Williams in the eighth with a roundhouse left to the jaw
DANES/MICHALKA For the bantam title The fight was even at the end of four with Michalka had a great fourth. Danes barely escaped being stopped. Danes gave away round five as she went into a defensive mode to get her legs back after the bad fourth. In the sixth, Danes came out of the defensive mode with a perfectly timed right cross and Michalka went down and stayed down. Danes retains her title
UPTON/RIGHETTI This was the last fight of the night and just happened to be right up there with the Bennet/VanCamp bout as a possible fight of the year. I think it is in line. at least, for the welter fight of the year. It was action packed even though it appeared to be going Righetti’s way. Righetti took four of the first five rounds including flooring Upton in the second. Upton closed Righetti’s lead by taking rounds six and seven. Righetti, then, widened her lead again by winning round eight. Round nine a great round that was too close to call, Righetti had a wide lead. All she need to do was stay away from Upton and avoid getting into a slugging match. She didn’t and towards the end of the round Upton landed a wild swinging right to Righetti’s left cheek that sent the champ down and ended her title run. A big upset that rattles the welter ranks.
