BEFORE: Jenna Pietersen's on the doorstep of signing a full-time contract with the Double A Boxing stable and there's nobody around the Sun City resort who thinks that fellow lingerie model Micaela Schaefer will stop her from achieveing that goal tonight. The German brunette remains in popular demand but acts as a genuine "go-to-girl" whenever someone needs to boost a career record against an allegedly inferior opponent. Schaefer doesn't seem to care much about her nose-diving stats and is willing to travel anywhere to enter the ring. She's fought in Berlin, Cologne and Canberra this year already so a trip to Rustenberg is hardly a challenge. However surviving more than six or seven rounds against the highly touted Pietersen will be a challenge according to BBU TV's Kate Abdo and the betting odds focus on the specific round in which the local brunette will finish the German off rather than outright South African victory.

Round 1:
Micaela's all smiles ahead of this one and throws the ultra-focused opponent off guard a little; Jenna took a while to get going against Jennifer Lamiraqui on her debut last month and once again she gives her rival too much freedom at the start of the fight which Schaefer uses into her advantage. Despite giving away two inches in height, the German displays a lot of confidence in jabbing her way through onto the fellow brunette's midsection and clipping the rack for a good measure. Jenna hangs back just too long and gets beaten for a looping hook on the nose that triggers a hectic leather rush from the older model; Schaefer hasn't been this aggressive in a while as most of her opponents feed on her dismal record with a bullying production but Pietersen fails to apply similar tactics and has to clinch the Leipzig-born woman in order to see out the round.

Round 2:
Pietersen remains on the back foot as if she wants to channel the golf handicap scenario but Schaefer bounces off the high guard repeatedly in the opening minute and fails to make the most of her opponent's stillborn attack. She lives to regret that as Jenna finally tackles her with a proper jabbing drive after the one minute mark and secures easy connection around the elbows as Micaela's vulnerable defense gets quickly exposed. Both women almost clash heads as the German looks for a clinching respite but only gets thumped on her heels as the younger brunette rips more crisp shots to the body and loops a solid hook on the temple to reel her backwards for good. Micaela escapes getting trapped on the ropes in the final minute but spends too much time in retreat allowing Jenna to pick her off over the top thanks to superior reach and that's exactly what the Sun City audience wanted to see after that difficult opener.

Round 3:
Jenna switches up a gear in her pursuit and Micaela's aggressive plans derail quickly now as she leans forward with a looping hook only to get nailed on the jaw with an uppercut combo that is followed by a hooking swing and reels her back to the center of the ring on the spot. The German brunette scowls briefly as she tries to adjust her footing but fails to embrace the local girl's superior reach and soaks up more bruising shots up the middle, staggering on her heels badly just as Pietersen really cranks it up! An aerial series connects with the temples and cripples Schaefer into a clinch-seeking reality but Jenna lays it into her guts and dumps butt-in-ropes thereafter to fend off those fight-stalling plans with relative ease. She keeps feeding on the German's midsection during the final minute and Micaela wilts under pressure, unable to force the Afrikaans brunette off her flesh. Her painful spasms become really loud come the bell and Jenna finally shows some evil edge as she barks into her ear moments before the referee shoves her back and helps a struggling German into her corner.

Round 4:
Schaefer drops her aggressive ideas but she's no match for Pietersen's hurry-up stalking and needs to adjust her plans before it's too late given her overall record. She tangles with the crowd favorite in the center of the ring after a brief teasing period but allthough she smacks Jenna's face with a solid jabbing drive, the response reels her backwards immediately as the Springbok brunette cuts her up on the nasal ridge with a vicious left/right combo. Another quick spasm fuels Jenna's progress and allows her to pick off the immobile foe from point-blank range again; she snaps Micaela's head backwards and intends to add more cuts to that pretty face but it's not before she tackles the ribcage that Schaefer finally yields real estate and slumps into a desperate earmuff at the ropes. Pietersen hammers in more beef around the elbows as the German model is at her worst when just getting thumped in numbers so the late Springbok rally is a clear success and leaves Micaela aching her heart out while hugging the visibly bruised midriff on top of that bleeding cut on the nasal ridge.

Round 5:
Micaela channels her survival mode early in the fifth but Jenna's superior reach is cashing in with more crisp shots from point-blank range while leading into a fruitless response that has chaos written all over it. Schaefer refuses to back off without soaking up a really hard shot but since she only grazes the Afrikaans flesh, she's in no shape to threaten a comeback as Pietersen stays on top of her through superior agility and striking precision. However the local favorite makes it a little too cute out there and apparently searches for a one-punch grand stand finish instead of just lashing out at the German model wholesale which is a proven tactics. This leads into a lenghty clinching struggle come the final minute as the older brunette recoginzes the pattern and shuts Jenna out amid loud jeers from the Rustenburg audience. Pietersen is still new to the boxing world so she can be excused that lack of consistency but generally, she really makes it too hard for herself as Kate Abdo wisely points out. Boxing isn't rocket science and Micaela Schaefer isn't a Regina Halmich clone either!

Round 6:
Furious attack from Pietersen breaks the German's resilience within seconds of the bell and results in that nasal ridge wound opening up again. Micaela really doesn't fancy so much heat and remains camped behind a desperate high earmuff but since her production slides to zero, Jenna feasts on her lacklustre resistance and hauls in more close range strikes. The German's head snaps back repeatedly as she gets stuck on her heels so can't escape the improved Springbok work load and crumbles alltogether when Pietersen literally threatens to fracture her nose with all those punches landing spot on target. Ugh! SCHAEFER'S KNEES FOLD UNDERNEATH HER just shy of the minute mark and this was simply too much Afrikaans heat to absorb anymore... the Rustenburg crowd duly applauds their prospect's walk off drive since the German model is almost spitting out her lungs in a desperate effort to find energy supply but once she realizes her nose is bleeding excessively, she rolls onto her back and buries her banged up face behind the gloves and lets the count pass her by. KO6 Jenna Pietersen!!!

AFTER: That was another fine finish from the South African's top BBU prospect and the news of her signing into the Double A crew should be made official within days rather than weeks now according to Kate Abdo's gossip-o-meter. She needs to iron out several aspects of her attire in order to become an elite contender but the physical tools are unquestionably there and a full-time switch over to UK might send an Afrikaans cat among the established lightweight order pigeons sooner rather than later. This being said, Jenna has no plans to fill out the Cardiff Arena undercards just yet when she's guaranteed a Main Event billing every day of the week back home in the picturesque Sun City resort. Who can blame her though? In fact, Kate Abdo predicts several takers for the long trip to Rustenburg if only a suitable replacement for Elize Du Toit's jobber act can be found to refund the BBU TV's coverage fee. Jenna's not exactly capable of selling the entire PPV set on her own as she lacks the worldwide glamour factor that ex-champions Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes for instance have. But that could easily change if the 29 year old model keeps rolling along like she did tonight.
