Chloe Moretz versus Ariel Winter

Intro:
The final New Blood tournament fight of the year is the Flyweight final between Chloe Moretz (1-0, 1KO) vs Ariel Winter (1-3, 1KO) Chloe in her debut fought Taylor Spreitler and won with a sixth round knockout to earn her spot in this final.

While Ariel Winter finally got her first win on the board with a seventh round knock out of tournament favourite Dakota Fanning. Both fighters had a month to prepare to fight each other and had reportedly thrown themselves into training with their social media presence down to a bare minimum to show how committed they were.

Chloe had her boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham to help her train, while Sofia Vergara helped her protégé and friend Ariel train. The press event was held in an old ballroom and the theme was a masquerade ball to give the journalists some fun discerning which managers were there to scout the two fighters out.

The main portion of the event of course was the actually fighters talking about their future contest, so on stage two masked women in beautiful long dresses met face to face.

Taking their masks off, the two youngster giggled as Chloe whispered "this whole get up isn't for me" to which Ariel replied "you're telling me, lord this is stupid, just to add some drama for the
journalists"

Melanie Sykes walks on stage on her own dress and nods to the crowd and both young ladies, who stand with their hands on their hips.

Sykes says "thank you ladies and gets for coming to this event, I think from my travels around the floor, I can guess which managers have turned up and who could be future managers"

Looking at each fighter, she finishes by saying "each of you has earned a platform to show you deserve to be managed and the big fights that come with respect, only one of you can achieve this so you have time to speak your minds before the big final".

Chloe is waved by Melanie to speak first, she starts by saying " I have to admit that I didn't expect this" as she waves her arms at the scene around her, "But I have worked my ass of since I was a kid to become a success and tomorrow I show to everyone else what I know in my own heart, that I am a champion" finishes Chloe as she keeps her speech nice and simple.

Ariel nods as she steps forward to speak "This tournament is about showing how far I have come in such a short space of time" Smiling at Chloe "me and you are so young and yet we are fighting for something important, respect and pride, so after tomorrow when I win, either we become life long friends or rivals till the day we retire"

Both go nose to nose and stare long and hard at each other as you can see the complete contrast in body shapes and heights before they separate and leave the stage at opposite ends.
Fight night, Chloe comes out first and boy does she channel Halloween, she is wearing a white sleeveless dress with fake blood splatted on it.

Skipping down to the ring, Sofia is waiting in her corner to high five her in a schoolgirl outfit with the bust of her skirt hanging dangerously open. Ariel climbs into the ring and the special referee Salma Hayek waits for both fighters to get their gloves on (black for both girls) then come to the ring centre.

The moment seems to hit both girls as they loom nervous at first before their eyes meet and they begin to stare hard as they think about what needs to be done to the other tonight.

Salma looks at both girls and shakes her head as she thinks "God I never dressed up like children" before looking at Sofia dressed up and admittedly laughs a little as maybe she's wrong. She quickly remembers to finish her instructions as the fighters begin to notice she is just standing silent and asks for a glove touch.

Both youngster do touch gloves and they sincerely wish the other good luck as at the moment there is no malice between them but after the fists start flying, no body knows how they will feel.

Returning to their corners for their gumshields and to talk with their coaches, Salma signals for the bell when everyone is ready to begin 10 rounds of flyweight boxing action.

Round 1:
Both fighters look tentative as they come out of their corners to start, Chloe on her toes jabbing towards the guard of Ariel, Salma looks slightly disappointed in the first thirty seconds of the round. Then Ariel makes her move, coming forwards, she quickly steps through a jab to crack Chloe to the body with two hard shots that awaken Moretz too. Chloe steps back to throw a jab/straight combo that has some success but is mostly a glancing blow as Ariel is shutting down the space between them to work the body of the taller blonde. Chloe is grunting with each shot to her abs as she fires back over the guard of Ariel to try and shove her back to create space. But Ariel is keep walking forwards to keep the pressure on and is landing the stiffer punches judging by the louder sounds coming out of Chloe then herself. She even shoves Chloe to the ropes for the first full blooded exchange between the two, Chloe throwing sweeping hooks to hurt Ariel, while she gets cracked to the body and jugs by Ariel. Chloe manages to escape off the ropes with a shove of her own, before lacing Ariel to her lips with a hard straight then a left hook to the body. It seems to slow down the charge by Ariel as she seems to be watching for that straight now, allowing Chloe the last thirty seconds to work freely. The bell rings and both girls gets a round if applause to show respect to them but in the ring, it's looking frosty as they stare at each other, before going back to their corners. Sofia tells Ariel "good job" before whispering to her "you must keep on her, she will be on to catch but if you let her dance around, it will be a long night for you" Ariel nods as she stares at Chloe, who in her own corner is being told to use her longer reach, pound Ariel to mush over her guard.

Round 2:
Ariel comes out quickly but not quick enough to get at Chloe before the blonde does what she did against Taylor. Quick footwork and hands give Chloe the room she needs to measure Ariel as she lands to the forehead of Ariel, just slamming her punches over the guard as she was told. The brunette is looking annoyed at herself as her head gets caught by sniper like left jabs before she feels a hook down at her body. Chloe even isn't afraid to use some JMD tactics to slam hooks around the guard now to the mighty jugs of her opponent. But Ariel does land some nice body blows in the times she can get Chloe towards some ropes, as Sophia looks worried though, it's not enough to make a lasting impression as she is being worn down by the lithe blonde. Chloe adds an exclamation point to her control of this round by landing a right hook to the left jug, then a left to the body and snaps a straight through the guard of Ariel before she takes a solidarity jab in return. Salma even winces on that exchange as she watches keenly to see if Ariel can make a come back this round, Chloe seems to have it sewn up as the bell rings. Chloe lifts up her arms, proud of herself as Ariel gives her an angry stare to say "this is far from over bytch" Returning to their corners, Sophia washes the face of Ariel and can see her forehead is reddening up from those jabs. Chloe looks right as rain as she sits on her stool with just some marks to her body that the dress is hiding from public view.

Round 3:
Once more, Moretz is on the move and in her groove with the jab her key to unlocking Ariel's defence it seems. But Ariel isn't giving up as she is taking several long steps now to try and match up to the long strides that Chloe makes. It means while she is still getting clipped cleanly to the face, she is closing the distance at a better rate and is lunging in to land nice straight punches of her own. Chloe tries to vary her movement up somewhat but Ariel is on her to slam two more body punches to make Chloe clinch up. Salma pries both apart as both fighters push each other with their bodies and Ariel seems to prove she is stronger in this grapple before she is separated from Chloe. Chloe though reestablishes her jab to gain some measure of control once again but Ariel is coming into this fight once again. As Ariel tries to close the distance and this time is caught by a right hook to her cheek that rattled her but she shakes it off to the surprise of Chloe. Especially as she is forced into another hard fought exchange as she doesn't notice her surroundings and is nearly stuck in her own corner. Once she sees that fact, she fights her way out but Ariel is like the terminator, she is coming forward all the time, as the bell rings to end the round. Chloe looks almost relieved, even as she has controlled the last two rounds but she sees the determination on Ariel's face and while she is desperate to win herself, she has to give Ariel some credit on her drive to win. Ariel on the other hand is just focused on getting back out and at Chloe as quickly as she can, Sophia keeps giving her a pep talk as she cleans up get friend but she can't help looking worried for Ariel.

Round 4:
Chloe is up but is met soon enough by Ariel as the brunette won't be pushed around by her blonde opponent any longer. Groaning as Ariel cracks her near her ribs, Chloe looks to be rattled for the first real time in this fight as she gets shoved back by the forward momentum of Winter. Moretz has to dig in to try and force Ariel backwards now as stiff punches are thrown by both fighters and the crowd silently watch as thuds can be heard off both youngster's bodies. For having a combined age of 37, they can both punch and they are really hurting each other judging by their faces. Enough to take a breather and each can be heard whispering insults as the competitive edge these two had is turning into hate. Salma drags the two apart before Ariel surprises Chloe again by rattling her with a hard straight between her gloves and the going to her JMD routine, slams two straights to the centre of Moretz's jugs. Chloe howls under the pain as her jugs don't exactly qualify for JMD and Ariel continues to slam to the body with different punches to try and chop the blonde to the ground. Instead Chloe steps back to unleash a straight that snaps Ariel's head back and when it returns, her lips look to be swelling but not cut yet. The grimace on her face shows how painful that punch was and again Chloe looks to have tamed Ariel enough to get out the round with not many more scratches. The bell rings and Ariel not wanting to let Chloe get confident bumps into her as the two hot tempered girls go nose to nose and insults fly as Salma feels like a headmistress as she pushes the two apart and orders them back to their corners. Each fighter just stares at the other on their stools, this is starting to become more then about being the first New Blood tournament winner in the flyweights, this is about pride.

Round 5:
Out they come quickly to get at each other but Chloe isn't dumb enough to get into a straight fist fight with Ariel and instead faints her jab before sidestepping around Ariel to crack her firmly to the left cheek with her right. Ariel's head pivots once again and she is showing the battle scars with her cheeks puffing up but she is still coming onwards under a barrage of fast thrown punches. Not all hit but pundits who questioned the durability of Ariel are having to question that as she as continues to fight her heart out. She gets some success as she slams a straight to the body of Chloe, which seems to hurt Moretz as she winces and Ariel goes on the attack with a pounding right hook to the body to make her opponent groan in pain. Chloe steps around Ariel with her jab snaking out still but Winter is closing the distance faster and forcing more quick fire exchanges between the fighters to take place. Has Chloe been hurt is being asked by journalists around the ring as she is visibly slower when she tries to create separation and Ariel must be noticing it too. The only problem is Ariel isn't timing her attacks well enough and is being chopped to the mouth with some hard punches. The round ends not long after with blood running from Ariel's lips to show her reward for her mistakes at the end of the round. Chloe looks to catching her air as she quickly whispers something to her coach but still smiles to him as if to show she isn't hurt.

Round 6:
Ariel is straight in the face of Chloe as the fight looks to be changing in momentum once again. The fight is being fought in more tightly now as the two fighters almost clash heads as Ariel is closing the space in the ring down. She takes the centre of the ring and is trying to trap Chloe into a corner, which pays dividends as she slams Chloe's cute nose with a brutal straight punch. Blood is now running from a cut on Chloe's nose as the two swing hard thrown hooks around each others guard with brunette winning this mini battle against her blonde rival. Chloe has to clinch up to stop the punching, Salma does her job once again with Moretz sneaking out of the corner to open space.
Back they go as both now are bloodied, sweat drenched and both have been rattled but so help them, they just want to fight it out. But for Chloe, this round is the first real nightmare round she has had in her two fights, Ariel is on as she almost gets shoved through the ropes, then eats three digging punches to her hurting abs. Salma orders Ariel off of her as Chloe has part of her body through the ropes but Chloe can't shake the brutal Ariel for too long and she has to wrestle her into a headlock before her frustration boils over and she lands two hooks to the face of Winter. Salma pulls her off and warns her to keep it clean as Chloe says sorry and puts her glove out to Ariel as an apology, Ariel looks pissed and slaps the glove away before waving Chloe to bring it. Chloe does as the two slug it out till the bell and Salma needs Sophia's help to pull these two apart as they continue to punch each other after the bell. Salma lays down the law in each corner, threatening point deductions and disqualification if this keeps up, which gets a nod of apology from both girls.

Round 7:
The round starts more slowly as Chloe is trying to get her range back but Ariel is keeping tight to her, slamming her punches to the side of the blonde to try and finish her off. But Chloe shows her own toughness by taking the punches and pushing forwards to land her own punches to Ariel's face in reply. Winter is visibly hurting as blood runs down her face from that cut on her and she is slowing down herself now after a great last round. She manages to barrage Chloe with her shoulder to the ropes to sneak in an uppercut that has Chloe closing her eyes and clinching up. Pushed apart, Ariel head down works the sides of Chloe, who is losing her guard and is breathing harder as her body takes a pounding. Back she comes though with a right hook that wobbles Ariel, who in reply pulls Chloe tight into smother clinch as this is becoming unknown territory for both girls. Neither has been past the seventh, both girls are hurting but as they are separated, they get back at each other with desperate single punches that have their full weight behind them. A clash of heads has Salma straight between the two, checking each fighter out as they shake their heads, a small cut is on the left eyebrow of Ariel as she looks to have gotten the worse of it, while Chloe's eye is bruised from the contact. Chloe notices the small cut and with seconds left in the round goes right for it with her accurate punches as she can't let the chance go by. The bell rings and each fighter looks at the other with a mixture of respect and hate as the prize is so near and yet so far for both at this moment. Each return to their corners with each girl trying to ignore the pain but finding it difficult, while corners try to clean them up and fix them up if they can.

Round 8:
Both girls look tired and beaten but up they come and Ariel is trying to get to the inside again, the problem now is she has one hell of a bullseye above her actual eye. Ariel does land a few good shots before she gets shoved back by Chloe with two straights targeting that bloody brow. Salma stops the action and sends Ariel to be checked on, the doctor has a good look and he does work worried, Ariel is pleading with him to let her fight. He does so but Ariel is under strict instructions that he will end it if he sees it affected her eye sight, she nods before getting ready to fight. Now Ariel looks to be handicapped in this fight by that eye, she has her left nearly plastered to it to protect it and is fighting with purely her right hand as a weapon. Chloe is now teeing off on her to the body to try and wear out Ariel once and for all but Ariel continues to want to fight and it is becoming hard to watch for Sophia, who is shedding tears at ringside. Moretz is keeping to the job at hand and even Salma is thinking of ending this now, Ariel is still doing enough to stay in the fight and actually escapes the round as the bell rings. Chloe doesn't even look at Ariel this time as she returns to her corner and shuts her eye's, she can't feel sorry for Ariel now she thinks. Ariel returns with blood trickling down from her brow to cover her cheek and Sophia gasps as she sees her friend so badly beaten. But the youngster gives her as big a smile as she can muster to try and stop Sophia crying before Sophia remembers to get to work on Ariel to fix her up.

Round 9:
The doctor does a through check of Ariel's brow before he can let her fight on, Sophia has done the best she can and he let's the fight continue. As the bell rings, Ariel goes straight after Chloe with a vengeance, she must believe that the scorecards are against her and she can't just survive to the end, she must win. She cracks Chloe to the body and Moretz looks stunned, she is quickly retreating as she can be seen holding her body. Ariel can see a ray of light in the shadows and is going hell for leather for this knock out, snapping the head of Chloe backwards and she tries to land another hook but she gets caught in a desperate clinch from Chloe. Both fighters trip up and fall to the canvas in a heap, Salma helps both fighters up as Chloe gets a chance to clear her head. As the fight restarts, now Chloe lunges forward and cracks Ariel to that brow once again, two hooks to Ariel's body make the heroic brunettes legs wobbly. The crowd are on the edge of their seats as each fighter is throwing everything to win this fight but one punch is all it takes. A stiff punch late in the round to the body makes a fighter curl up on the canvas, screaming as they go down to all fours. Chloe stands over Ariel after landing a straight to the centre of her opponents stomach, Ariel with no real energy left is winded and now Salma guides the blonde to a neutral corner to begin her count. The crowd with Sophia will Ariel to make one last attempt to get up and fight, Ariel herself loves over at Chloe with a tear in her eyes as she tries to find some energy to stand. But as the count nears 10, there is a sad moment as Ariel tries to push herself up but her arms give way and she lays face down, audibly crying her eyes out as the count reaches 10 and the bout is over.

Winner: Chloe Moretz KO Round 9

After:
Chloe falls to her knees in the corner as she cries tears of joy into her gloves at winning this war and now can be classed as a tournament winner. Sophia quickly rushes in to check on Ariel, who as she helps up to a kneeling position, has tears running down her eyes as she is heartbroken to have lost.

Helping Ariel to her stool, Sofia says "I am so proud of you, the guts you showed out there was amazing, if Tess Valmore or any of those journalists at Boxing World Online try to call you anything bad, I will kick their asses"

Wiping some tears away, Ariel smiles as she replies "I'd pay to see that" before her expression turns hard as she sees Chloe coming towards her.

Sofia eyes up Moretz as Chloe and Ariel give each other a stern look before Chloe says "want to go again then" Ariel replies "maybe next week if you have space in your diary" which suddenly has both girls smiling at each other.

"How the hell did I know you would say that?" Says Chloe as both girls giggle together before Chloe kneels down and shares a heartfelt hug with Ariel.

Sofia and Salma stand together as each shake their heads and Hayek says "you'd never catch me doing that if we fought at their age, I would be taunting you to go another round" Both of the older women in the ring wink at each other as the hug finishes between the two new friends. Or maybe rivals as Ariel says "as much as I love you now as a friend, you know I am going to get better so I can get my win back babe"

Chloe smiles and kisses Ariel's cheek before replying "I would expect nothing less from you but let's give each other a break in the ring and stick to the friendship part for a bit"

Laughing Ariel bumps fists with Chloe before Salma tells her that the award ceremony has to begin and while Sophia goes to help Ariel out the ring, she tells Vergara "I want to see this then we can leave OK?"

Sophia does as asked as she helps Ariel stand and use her as a makeshift crutch, while Chloe goes to the ring centre. Before the awards are given to Chloe, The other winners of the different weight classes in the New Blood tournaments all come out in beautiful dresses with their crowns on.
Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner and Saoirse Ronan all climb into the ring and wait behind Chloe as Salma does the announcements.

"I have the honour of awarding this trophy and crown to the New Blood flyweight tournament champion Chloe Moretz!" Shouts Salma as Chloe wipes more tears away.

Chloe receives the trophy from Salma but there looks to be trouble as Ariel goes up to Hayek but as she gets the crown handed to her, she tells Chloe "you'll have to bend your knees lanky"

As Chloe does as told, Ariel puts the crown on the winners head as a great show of sportsmanship and respect. Before the two embrace once again with confetti falling over them and Chloe's fellow class of 2016 winners clap her. Ariel leaves Chloe to have her moment as the other winners shake Moretz hand and Saoirse gives her a massive hug herself.

Tonight marks the first big achievement in the young life of Chloe Moretz in boxing, how far can she can is anyone's guess!
