Gena Lee Nolin (Sceej) v Gemma Atkinson (Beevers Babes)

(Words: Knowlesey / Results: Lookout!)

Gemma again risks all as she fights the veteran Gena, who has been around in this league forever.

Gemma’s wearing a white bikini tonight with matching gloves and boots, with Gena similarly dressed, but in orange.

Round 1

The girls trade almost immediately, Gena looking in a hurry to teach the Brit a lesson, and she lights Gemma up with a savage right uppercut, then rubs her face up when they get in close, trying to damage the younger blonde however she can.  Gemma’s unhappy, and when the referee has broken and reset the girls, she lands good punches, left and right jabs as she starts working Gena around the ring, the veteran looking her age as the Brit’s snappy punches thud into her face, but as the round goes on, she starts landing to Gemma’s ribs, and presses her back to the ropes in the closing seconds, showing her class by just doing enough to steal the round from a frustrated Gemma.

Round 2

Gena hits and hurts Gemma with a left hook to her body, but Gemma counters with some good punches, banging Gena’s head back with some solid jabs, the older woman looking too slow to compete with her, and Gemma’s enjoying herself as she tries out a left uppercut, which Gena manages to absorb, because she’s so tough, and she hits Gemma back with a peach of a right hook, which stops the big Brit in her tracks, although not for long enough, as she gets back at Gena, and she’s starting to mark the older blonde’s face, her cheeks grazed and bruising by the end of round 2.

Round 3

Gemma’s pressing on Gena now, making her go backwards, and trapping her on the ropes, Gena holding to get some respite, but it’s only brief, because Gemma hits her again straight from the break, Gena staggering backwards, and into the ropes.  Gemma follows up, and lands a left and a right, but Gena brings her left glove in a big arc from low down, her uppercut almost taking Gemma off her feet as it send her crashing onto her back.  Gemma’s dazed, but on her feet at 7, and now it’s Gena who looks the better bet as she thuds some good shots into Gemma’s face, cutting her along her left cheekbone, and Gemma has blood running down her face as she goes to her corner.

Round 4

Gena looks confident, and she starts the round well, hits Gemma with a right hook, but then gets tagged by a sweet one-two from the Brit, doesn’t get herself out of the way, and Gemma floors her with a left hook, Gena in a heap on the canvas.  She gets up at 8, but she looks shot, and Gemma starts hittingher again, on her toes, and just giving the older woman a hammering, just about shutting her left eye as she lands one right hook after another, and Gemma’s looking at the referee to see if he’s going to stop the fight, because this is getting too one-sided now, with Gena offering nothing more than a target for Gemma, who dominates her through to the bell.

Round 5

The referee has asked Gena if she wants to continue, and she proudly says that she is, but the round starts badly for her when Gemma gives her a left hook to the body, followed by a right hook to the face.  Gena’s knees are shaking, and Gemma hits her again with a clubbing right hook, sending Gena down onto her back, arms above her head, not moving as the referee counts her out.

Result:  Gemma Atkinson knocked out Gena Lee Nolin in round 5.

That’ was another dominant performance from Gemma, even if she did get careless, but she pays tribute to Gena, “That woman’s still a fighter at 44! But I hope she retires, because I don’t want to see her hurt.  I just want the welterweight title!”
